It's just really slow Social, the guy at BT said it might've been capped or something. I'll continue to investigate.

The Bird nests on Karachi/Terminal, I love going there in Demolition. In ground war they are very hard to hold down and the one on terminal is instantly targeted.

I hate the bunker in Wasteland, I'm sure there are good spots in it. It seems like you can get quite a few kills in there by hiding behind various boxes. Personally I dont know it well enough and dont like the lack of cover and the fact it gets bumrushed at the start of every round. But then again Wasteland in general seems pants lol. Theres no cover anywhere.

In Rundown, ground war I'll try to get to the main house that has two windows and overlooks B. Hoping between those windows and the rafters (did you know you can walk onto the rafters to the right and reach a little ledge?), the ledge really powers up that spot because you have somewhere to take cover if people start nub tubing. In Demolition I like the house to the right of that house with a sniper and on the oppostie side the big white villa thing. The house to the 'house to the right' I find really powerfull because you can cover every bridge.

If those dont work I'm quite partial to something like:
    UMP
    Marathon
    Lightweight/Coldblooded
    Ninja

and using this to pressure spawns.
I love rundown:had my first nuke on it [IMG]

The calntag thing is sneaky lol, what does that do, make sure you get paired up on the same team? Dont they start yelling at you?

I used to do the killcam thing, I still do occaisionally if the team is crap and it's an AC130 which specializes in spawn raping. But usually I just switch to:

    Scar grenage launcher
    Stinger
    Scavenger/SOH
    CB
    Ninja

The scar is powerful and accurate enough to work without SP so it's still aneffective class once the air support is gone.

Also on Karachi, your stratagy work great but I prefer to not be in the doorway, but go prone on the walkway right to the right of the ladder with a silenced weapon. Its a great source of cover and really hard to shoot from people below. I nip in between covering this place, the window off the hallway and the two hallways. Tar silenced/hbs rapes in FFA like this. I dont like claymores but I currently trying to use them as they are so powerfull in COD6 and a lot of ppl swear by them.Personally I dont like them but have put them on 2 classes with scavenger.

The reason I dont like going prone covering the doorway by the beds is you can be naded by someone seeking revenge.

Definitely will add you social... [IMG]

I do like the elevated positions but you're VERY exposed which is the only real problem. If you're up there on Terminal you can get picked off pretty quickly.

For Karachi it's the same thing. People always check up there too so you won't go unnoticed for too, too long.

As far as the bunker on Wasteland, I live there. There are some really good places to rack up a kill streak if you're down there. I will stand on the "ammo crates" that are up against the wall and shoot people coming in the opposite entrances.

Also I will crouch by the wood divider closest to the entrance on the "metal shack" side and aim across the bunker the far way to shoot anyone trying to come do the perpendicular entrance (the entrance on the side of the back-to-back mounted guns)... From there you can rack up kills if they're determined to raid the bunker from that side. With an LMG or my TAR-21 I can pick off multiple enemies even if they're in a group.

When I run out of ammo I switch to my Striker and move up to wherever they are comming from...

BTW---> The Striker is my new favorite shotgun! Trust me, it's a nasty fucking shot gun cause you can fire it very fast and it has enough bullets to get you a 5-7 kill streak without even reloading. It does slightly lower damage but can still kill in one shot but unloading two is wicked fast...

it's funny i read you and boris' interpretations of the game, and i can see right where they line up with the weapons/attachments we use.

Like for example the terminal highpoint. I just chill on the parking lot (tarmac?) side and keep a low profile. That spot where the cockpit of the plan still can't see u behind the cover. Then i only venture out to take my shots when i see a blip on my HB sensor. And of course once i'm out there i keep a corner of my eye ready for those darn ninjas lol. Same deal with karachi to some extent, the ranges are further so HB isn't always useful there. Except that it gives u an idea when peopl are rushing in fromt he stairs. Anyhow, makes the positions a lot more defensible.

but i've got like 30 hours now on social ruin and it's been all sniper. So i can see where a LMG user would really like chilling in the bunker, makes sense. However sniping from the bunker would be a bit of a no go.

    right now i'm using:

    Barret with HB

Spas-12 with reddot or grip (is grip just all out better than a sight, i'm guessing so on this gun)

    semtex
    stun grenades

    scavenger/marothon/slight of hand
    stopping power
    steady aim
    final stand.

Depending on the map i change my perk1 (or choose the appropriate class. I'll use marathon on round opening to get where i want quick to try and get that opening snipe. Then usually switch to slight of hand so i can my spas shots of quick when i need too. Also i like slight of hand for maps like scrapyard that are in tight. I like scavenger after the game starts, so i can semtex it up, lol.

Boris, i find semtex to be better than claymore, at least with scavenger. But claymores are most useful (IMO) cause they can be used to let u know when someone is coming to attack u. idk, that is a snipers point of view tho.

I used to be a bit of a sniper myself but now I kind of suck at it, now Ive been running with this:

    Tar (silenced)
    Spas12 (grip or silenced)
    Semtex
    Flash
    Marathon
    Lightweight
    Ninja
    Final Stand

I'm enjoying trying to be a ninja (I want to be TF2 Scout quick hahah) and getting various challenges done.
It's great fun I occasionally switch to Uzi, USP & tactical Knife and hardline.

Trust me guys, give the Striker a little love and you will see how good it is.

Basically, you can fire it as fast as the AA-12 but it has twice as many rounds and a longer range.

I might give it a try. The only thing is, i've been using the spas-12 since boris posted up that video. I am LOVING it. I can't deal damage like the guy in the vid, but...

i tried the AA-12 and the striker before and thought they sucked. But also, i tried the spas before and thought it sucked. then for the longest i ran with the duel 1887 but ditched them, and now they nerfed them, so i'm glad i ditched them. Actually, it's nice that they nerfed them, i was gettign tired of practically every moron using them. It's so nice to not play and see every yahoo running around akimbo shotguns.

Anyhow, i'm sure that if i went back to the striker, i would like it better than i did the 1st time. The only problem is, i really try and focus on accuracy. Plus, i'm snipey all the time, so i like the range on the spas-12, it is almost mid range, and if u put the grip on it for extra accuracy, i can use it nicely to supplement my snipe. I find i use it most effectively, when i go for only well place shots. Meaning, i don't just strafe arounda corner and go bang bang bang. I do a lot better just aiming and taking 1 intelligent shot, same deal with my sniper rifle, i don't fire a lot, but fire accurately. I really don't like giving up my location with a plethora of shots, i try and make them all mean something.

IDK, i'll probably make a dummy profile and use it to practice some close combat. Go light weight, marathon, striker, and maybe a LMG, or even full machine gun, and try and practice and get better at some of the things i don't do real well. I'm not too good at the run and gun. I do decent if i go sleight of hand. But only decent. I consider myself good (not great, not special, but good) at sniping and with the m16, i'd like to get good at the run n gun too, just to try and round out my game. As now, i feel like i'm at a disadvantage when everyone is running around, covering ground and going for lot's of bang bang kills. I'm too slow cause i try not to do it. need to practice, lol.

anyone else notice that the akimbo marathon class needs to be toned down a little? It really doesn't seem to matter what weapon it is, akimbo marathon gets too much of a boost. U hit them dead on while they are running, and with lag, u rarely get a clean enough shot to kill them. Then the akimbo is over powered, because it completely eliminates the need to ever aim (basically the opposite of lag vs marathon). It seems like they need to tone down the hit box for akimbo on all weapons, and reduce the range as well.

  8. AnimalStaccato

    AnimalStaccato Well-Known Member

The hitboxes are the same for every gun, akimbo primaries have a pretty short effective range. Even with steady aim your gunna be going through both mags to get a kill at sump like 20 ft.

What's the matter Social, You been getting raped by some dude with akimbos? [IMG]

    lol,
i switched back to the Scar-H and took the machine piston (not akimbo) that has the weird shoulder butt on it. And, uh, i was coming on here to say maybe marathon akimbo isn't OP.

But damn, on social ruin where i only run with barret sniper and spas shotgun, man, i can't compete with those assholes sometimes. lol. on the other hand, my K/D is 1.6, and my win is 1.3.

AND MY FAVORITE: my accuracy is 74.08%!!!! I'm on level fifty now, and have about 32 hours play time on it, so it's not a fluke.

Even still though, it sucks cause i prolly only just barely have over 1/1 K/D from gunfire, but ya know those kill streaks inflate it a little when u get the rewards. Also, it helps that i didn't start using it til had already logged too much play time. Shit, if i wanted to run AR silencer, HB sensor, i would be carrying a 2-1 K/D.

Man, Boris if you started over i'd bet u could rock about a 2.5 K/D. I have a sneaking suspicion u are better than me, since i'm lost without an HB sensor, lol. U notice drei fei has a 1.83 K/D?

  10. AnimalStaccato

    AnimalStaccato Well-Known Member

2.5K/D is steep. I reckon I could hold a 2 on a second account. 1.83 is really good I wanted to get to 1.8 cause thats apparently the mark of a good player. I say 'wanted to' because It's demoralising getting 10 kills, shooting a guy, getting no hitmarker, having him shoot you (dead) then looking at the scoreboard and seeing that he has 4 bars and is probably the host. [3]

Dude currently I cant get over how good that spas class is esp when coupled with a MP5K FMJ. SP and SA power up that gun and with SP in particular I'm pretty sure it has the fastest TTK of all guns that dont have rapid fire on/snipers.

Don't you find the switch time on the PP2000 a little slow? I used to use it at the start but would find that whenever I needed a secondary it was usually when the guy was right in my face. So I take swap time heavily into consideration.

Social, If you have a class with SP and SA (your sniper?), I'd recommend you try out akimbo M9's or USP's, with SP those guns are 2 bullets to kill and pistols have the fastest swap time. So with steady aim they are basically incredibly quick swapping shotguns lol.

O and BTW a quick tip to level up pistols, make a marathon, lightweight, ninja class(ninja needs to be pro) and go play hardcore TDM. In this you have 30 health, the USP does 40-25 dmg,M9 40-30, magnum 50-35. So you can just run round one shotting people with pistols or double tapping with a silencer and pretend you're James Bond. Hella fun!

Ninja pro you need for the silent footsteps, lightweight pro helps for the quick ADS after sprinting although you may want to swap it for cold blooded.

everytime I play hardcore mathces I see people doing that, its annoying but I'll try it for a laugh, never tried to level up my pistols before been too comfortable using the M1014 & Ranger(Akimbo) as secondaries, Ninja pro and coldblooded are essential tho, Hardcore is full of Heartbeat sensor and Thermal scope players hiding in dark corners, faggots, lol.

Ha you should play ground war, 75% of my deaths are from corner campers. People who just sit on the inside of doorways get 1 or 2 kills, die, then spend the rest of the match trying to get back to the inside of said doorway or find another one. [IMG] aieaieaie they are anoying and I doubt Ive ever seen one finish with a positive K/D.

I'm not really felling these maps. Maybe the next batch (if any) will be better. I remember not liking WaW's first group of new maps either.
