I can't say this for sure, but my friend was telling me that the G3 was replaced by the FAL. Supposedly, it's basically the same but with a cooler reload animation.

I usually play halo when in the mood for some FPS mahem, but since so many people i know are going crazy over this game, i might pick it up. I only care about competitive online when it comes to FPS. So can any one list some of the similarities/differences between halo and MW2 cause i havent had any experience with a FPS not named Halo since Goldeneye 64. Which do u guys prefer...i'd be interested to hear which game and why from non-fanboys (presumably only fighting game fanboys here).

MW2 will punish you for run a gun so work with people to set up a frontline. If you like run and gun this isn't you game and you should try unreal or quake if you want a better twitch shooter.

If that's NOT fake, then damn... Just damn... *shudders*

    That's just... damn...

I've never seen anything that absurd in my life! It's more sad than is humanely possible. Tell me no one cares THAT much. I never even played COD4. Could it really have been so good that not liking MW2 could send you into suicidal tail-spin?

Maybe its one of those commercials for GameFly? [IMG]

Seriously though, I think this is one of the reasons why videos should be harder to set up, shoot, and post. If it took half an hour to start making a video, maybe you'd have time to calm down before turning on the camera. I think his emotions were just a bit too high for TV.

How the hell did that knife hit? Is that auto-aim or just a really, really lucky throw??? How could he even see the dude was there???

With millions upon millions of people playing the game, your bound to have a guy just say "fuck it, I'mma throw this knife over the building, theres a guy over there somewhere." and miraculously have it hit.

Hell i remember old CS days with friends, after playing for almost 4 years, we were retaking a bombsite and threw grenades that collided with each-other mid air and bounced straight back into our faces. Never seen it before, baffled us and we lost that round lol.

Crazy shit happens once n a while in FPS games, most of which isn't skill in any way, just random occurrence.

    Oh and Fuck MW2.

I bought the game a couple days ago but I haven't played it yet... Why do you say that? You don't like the game?

I've actually never played it. And if I did I'm sure I would love it. I don't want to get into this a whole lot and derail the thread but just don't lump me together with those boycotting idiots. I'm not boycotting I just don't see the game being worth $60 anymore.

They took away dedicated servers, which have been available since the dawn of fucking FPS games online.

18 person max on a server? Seriously? I can't have the mindless fun anymore when I'm bored of playing the game the legitimate way.

Oh and the $60 price-tag too. They took 3 steps back and want to charge me $10 MORE for it?? Wtf lol.

I understand everything they did from a business standpoint. Without dedicated servers on PC they control nearly every ounce of custom content that will be made for this game, so they can make it all and charge you for it. It's going to make them more money... But since when does the BEST SELLING GAME in the world right now need more gimmicks to get more money? They're just being greedy at this point and I can only hope that more companies DO NOT follow suit.

Like I said, I LOVED MW1, and I'm sure I would love this too, if there weren't so many things holding me back from playing it.

To be honest, I don't really like MW2.

First of all, the pain-shake is C R A Z Y. I expect a little bit of a bump, but this shit throws your aim like 90 degrees upward! WTF!

Second, I was really disappointed with the single player game. Part of this is probably because I enjoyed the first one so very very much. In MW1, I liked every single mission, and the action was so brilliantly paced and varied that it was hard not to love it. In MW2, I found myself having tons of fun on one mission, then just feeling bored and/or frustrated at the next. Plus, I really don't like the story. If you've ever read a Tom Clancy novel, you'll see it coming a mile away. Its just been done to death. I don't want to spoil it though, so I'll stop.

And I can't tell you how saddened I am by the spec-ops mode. This is what was selling the game for me. My girlfriend and I love co-op games, and especially split-screen (we have a 67" HDTV, so no worries about screen size). While some of the spec-ops missions are lots of fun for two people, too many of them are not. Being in a heli/AC130 raining death upon enemies while not trying to kill your defenseless soul-mate? Awesome! Trying to get a tank to actually shoot at the bad guys by pointing a laser at a random house? Not so fun.

I think it was the difficulty swing I didn't expect. MW2 is MUCH more difficult than the first one, which I don't mind, but it seems that the difficulty has been raised by means that I don't agree with. Things like the AI enemies don't have any "aim-time" (the animation where you bring your scope up to your eye), they just start shooting and are DAMN ACCURATE. Plus, why can the AI take cover on stuff but I can't? This game just really makes me want to go back and play more Uncharted 2 or Rainbow Six.

I haven't played the multiplayer yet, but I didn't really like that part of the first one. I'm just not that kind of player.

Theres my two cents on MW2.

EDIT: I'm not the only one who thinks VF is better than MW2!

Yeah my thoughts exactly........I found 4 more engaging because it switched back forth and intergrated the 2 factions for joint missions. They used Rangers and S.A.S.
The cover the ground of international warfare and Domestic warfare which was cool but the end got a little 2 farfetched. The campaign was too short compared to 4.I brought it yesterday and ended it the same day. Some of the missions were excellent Mainly) the "Soap" Sections but others felt run-on.

Good game but some questions still go unanswered for me.

This is why I don't have the game. I had MW1 on xbox, and found out about the PC shit, and was waiting on MW2 for PC and then all this shit happened. So I just play L4D2 campaigns and scavenge now.
