Thats not so bad cause the city only hold 4 people.

In the instruction manual it says that only 2 people can quest at the same time. Is this true? no more 4 people teams?

Gunning is rough outfoxd. I tried it for a minute on MH2. Mind you it was all solo cause i had no internet. I think i was using demonlock. But man, that drove me crazy<--the mats for making bullets.

I mean shit. 1st of all it was all out weaker than lance or great sword. At least demon lock was. And then u'd have to farm for hours to remake all your ammo. It would be the equivalent of having to remake your lance/hammer/greatsword everytime it got dull. Whetstone vs remaking all your ammo after you use it....wow, not an even balance there.

Actually, how i played it was this. I had all my ammo made. If i wanted to gun, i'd go take down the dragon, then just turn it off (not save it) so i still had all my ammo [IMG] But at this point i already had all the best equipment for offline anyway.

My claim to fame, hehe, i beat the rathian pair with all offline equipment. Ogretusk lance. Beat it with 1 second left. woot woot. it was epic.

By the time I really got gunning I was loaded up with money and materials. Most of the ammo I just bought from vendors or bought the mats from vendors. Gunning's a lot easier with friends, though I'm pretty sure I can rape monsters now that there's elemental shots.

If you gun online and gun well people should love you because the sheer versatility of what you can do. Status affects, buffs, healing, and direct damage if you feel like blowing shit up.

ok got the game running last night and played it for a few minutes. Yeah I kind of agree with you social, the graphics do seem worse than previous MH games. I need to play more before I make my final decision, but at first glance it does seem pretty average when compared to all the HD footage I have seen of this game. Also I hate the way the character is animated when he runs. Absolutely hate it! IMO the PSP version is animated better / more natural.

In the end though Monster Hunter was never about graphic, but about game play. I still haven't gone on a big hunt yet so I won't comment on game play until I do. I just ran around the town following the story line and then ran out to the outskirts of town where you could gather herbs, mushrooms, etc.

I would have played more, but I had a VF itch that needed to be satisfied. I'll probably play some more on Sunday because today it's all about SSF4 if I can get my hands on a copy today. I'm headed to the store now because there next shipment comes in today at 1PM. * fingers crossed *

Oh I also jumped online just to see what it's like, but I didn't join any games. I just wanted to see if I could connect since I was running an ISO and not the disc. *sigh* now what do I do with my disc.

wait, ssIV drops today? I thought it dropped on the 27th?

Also, i thought it was funny that u said u won't judge cause u haven't went on your 1st big hunt yet. That is EXACTLY what i've been saying.

I do have to disagree a lil when u say it was never about graphics, i thought it was absolutely gorgeous for ps2. It was the game i'd throw in to impress poeple with graphics. But that being said, if the game is deeper on wii, then deeper will equal better for me.

My character name is Tricky, but I think we need to trade User ID"s to find each other online.

There are already hundreds if not thousands of people online at any given time and it's lagless. They did a great job with this obline system. You can choose to have their names or ID show above their heads so that's up to you.

Have you tried playing it online yet? A lot of those questions would be answered by just going into the city once.

Just a few suggestions for people starting out.

I'd say forge all your armor to begin with, as opposed to buying it pre-made. You really don't need armor to finish the quest unlocks or even for lvl 1 quest. It helps sure, for like the Jaggi, but i found u can block all the attacks with the standard sword and shield.

More importantly, the equip upgrade guy gives you 4-5 armor spheres to upgrade armor. Don't use these on starting armor (weak chainmail/bonemail). Wait til you forge better armor and use them on the better armor. I mean, u can use a sphere to upgrade a chain helmet from a 1-2 on defense, or on the jaggi armguards for something like 10-12!!! IMO, save them and use them on better equipment.

for anyone who is into gunning...
Can you tell me what guns you like?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of different guns?
    Is there a best gun?

I want to try out some gunning but the options are a lil overwhelming.

    Thanks for any feedback
