Monster Hunter 3

There isn't really a best gun, just whatever gun you need for the given situation.

Now that you can mix and matches barrels frames and stocks, you've just got to pay attention to what you're slapping together and see if it works for what you're going to be doing.

I have 3 or 4 different rigs set up now that fire different kinds of ammo. Right now my favorite is a Tropeco frame, a Barrozooka barrel (For power) and a Royal Ludroth stock. It's great because it fires the power ammo (Crags, Clusters, Wyvern Fire) and it's still light enough to be a medium gun, while having enough power to hurt with Pierces and normals.

Though the Barrozooka's got some bad deviation. Sometimes my shots fly off to the left or the right, completely the wrong way. Feels like I'm shooting a pre-1860's musket sometimes.

 

The same goes for armor now that you can upgrade them. Armor and weapons works like megaman.

 

Anybody tearing this shit up?

I'm loving me some MH3. The barroth was pretty damn tough online. And i can't help but feel like the barroth is just all out tougher than the gobul.

Of course, when i fought the barroth i was on mostly jaggi armor, so that increased the difficulty. And i haven't been advancing too quickly, since i've been bouncing around lvling gunning and lance.

Speaking of, i am a devout lance user. Love my lances. What weapons are you guys feeling?

 

fuck man I need to get caught up! I still haven't gotten into it. I been playing to much SSF4.

 

I'm still a gunner at heart, though I will bust out Lance or Greatsword when the situation calls for it.

And Rod, I'm the opposite. I need to catch up on SF.

 

I been a great sword since mh1. You can have the head but that tail is mine!

 

longsword is pretty sweet (if not cliche, guess everyone uses it.) but its new to me, and is so nice for chopping tails, and even cracking some heads. I OWN YOU RATHIAN.

Hammers are the new hotness nowadays, what with ktfo'ing wyverns. I'm working on trying switch axe.

 

Does the wii do DLC? i'm sad to think that we may not get any content updates to this game... Does anyone know if this is correct, or if they plan on doing post launch support on content, new weapons, armor, etc?

My bro and I are on basically every night between 10PM-3AM.

We are getting ready to start in on some of the lvl2 gather quests, as well as lvl2 rathian, great baggi.

I will do the barroth quest if you need barroth equipment, under the condition you have a hammer and u try and break his crown. I need barroth scalps.

My bro and i are both kinda all gobul'd out right now, but if u need to farm gobul, i will do so with u, if u have a hammer and u'll break barroth's crown with me.

So far, Barroth is sorta tough, but not so much, and everything else is piece of cake.

My bro has farmed out Rathian, so from feedback on that and from the MH2, i know i will have no probs with rathian hunt/captures.

Great baggi is easy too.

If nothing else, hit us up, we'll all go mine bloodstones together and save up some armor sphere and armor sphere+


P.S. If you want to hunt wyverns, bring in full potions, HERBS (they are weak, but they are a lifesaver), and mega potions. Take the time to make nutrients-->+honey=meganutrients.

If you are under geared, i do not mind carrying you at all, but don't prepare to fail but not bring heals.

i googled it, and it seems to be 18? is this right? thats bullshit if so. i'll be bored of the damn game before i get there.

I think I'm gonna head online and see if I can find a team to carry me through some quests so I can get some better gear.

Also is it worth it to get Wii Speak? Honestly I find random chatter distracting so I may not pick it up. I may just pick up a USB keyboard to communicate with people... actually I probably have one laying around somewhere.

Anyway hope to play with some of you guys soon. I'll post my ID a little later when I come back to VFDC. I forgot to write it down.

 

yeah, get online to equip up. don't make the mistake i did and hunt offline to get better equipment, then finally get online and have to struggle through endless hours of beating up the same monsters you've already beat up a 1000 times offline.

*Sigh**

 

I played mostly online and occasionally play offline, burning through with my sweet gear.

 

anybody got some extra royal ludroth items? I'm looking to upgrade my armor set.

 

I don't think you can trade that stuff, at least that's how it worked when I played MH 1
