^Yeah, that was a great album. They do an awesome live show too, I've seen them twice. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I haven't heard their second album, heard it wasn't nearly as good. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I completely forgot about Electric Six.

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

I REALLY liked Iron Maiden in the late 80's. I was 18 in 1987 and the music I listened to had a very direct link to my emotions. I bet it's like that for a lot of people around that age (at least I hope it is). It's so wild that listening to Iron Maiden today brings back some of those emotions. All the memories and feelings (exuberance, frustration, and more) are stll there - they just need a little prodding to show up again.

    Very cool, indeed.

Yo Plague, here is an article about exactly what you are talking about.

For me it is a different group of bands, but funny enough, that old Weezer album is one of them.

J-pop ... as long as they girls are not like Morning Musume =P

American songs are nice too, but I don't know how to check for latest and good songs nowadays.

Can't say there's much of a system to 'keeping up', I'd say, there's just too much out there. Nowadays I just listen to the radio while driving somewhere and search for the less main stream stations.

Latest albums I picked up were:
    Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters
Space Groove [aka ProjeKCt 2] - King Crimson
    Discovery - Daft Punk
    and...
Push The Button - Chemical Brothers

Oh yeah, saw Snow Patrol in concert not too long ago. Was cool.

Another thing, the Heideroosjes did a tour in Japan a couple of weeks back. They used their English songs so as not to get everybody confused, but they threw in a Dutch one too for fun, the crowd just screamed along all the same (even though probably nobody understood what they were singing).

Vortigar, trouwens, ik had in Nederland op VWO gezeten, en toen
    houd ik van :

DJ Paul Elstak, Omen, en een paar house muziek DJ.
Kan je mij vertellen hoe ik die Nederlandse muziek zoeken?

Man, that is exactly what I was talking about. Thanks so much for that. I didn't figure I was having a unique experience and, my God, to have it spelled out like that is just fucking cool.

Hmm... I guess I'm a little rusty in Dutch for not speaking it everyday now. =P. sowwie.
