Pass the bowl, philosophy major! right on!

For practical purposes, would you say that
People who belive they are punished unfairly,
    or
people who punish unfairly are those that destroy the society.
    are more destructive?

    beware, I disagree in advance.

I think you've just said what a bunch of people around here have been wanting to say but haven't figured out how to say it. Nice job! *patpats*

Amen to that! It seems as if all the posts with good information about the game are always overlooked or tainted by some type of argument.

I feel bad for Myke and Jeff, no matter how bad it gets, they have to carry on. If this were my site, I would've closed it already, and restarted it under the name "donaldduckcollectables.com" or something, and just let the people with something real to contribute know about it.

[/ QUOTE ] And there lies the problem Blonde_one has with most vfdc members. How would you go about picking the people that deserve to be heard on your site? Would Blonde_one be there? Would I? How would that work? I must not be someone that has something to say because I can't even say that imo Akira's low kick cancel wasn't so strong that it needed to be removed without 4-5 dickheads assuming that I meant it wasn't useful at all because obviously I'm a stupid noob, that sucks at VF. It was a misunderstanding, but the attitude was loud and clear.

Keep practicing your ST- snglplm- dblplm. It's an important part of Akira's game.

All right that's about as much as I can take, don't be going around clownin on my man spotlite, it just ain't right. He is, without a doubt, one of the most respected members around in VF scene today. And you know what, he EARNED every bit of that respect by posting pertinent and useful information and respecting the community. But above all, he's been a standup guy both off and online who's opened his home freely for VF gatherings in the past, and I'm sure presently as well.

As the man suggested, think for a second before shooting your mouth off.

Well, I haven't been paying enough attention to the posts of you or blonde_one to decide, I think you should ask yourself that question, "whould you be included?"

You just called Gaijin Punch, Feixa Q, Creed, and Summers "dickheads".

Blondeone started a thread just to vent about how he thinks most of the regulars here are jerks, and he has a problem with them.

Go back and read the thread you mentioned, you'll see that GP just tried to say that the d+K, G was useful, and you came back with "no it isn't". Then you went on to rate him beneath you with you comment about "just because it works against YOU"...

I have no ill will towards you or any of your friends, nor any anger. But I think it's funny when you say that dickheads jumped all over you, when GP and summers replied in a mellow way, and you're the one who started telling people they were wrong.

Bottom line: something I care about has basically been ruined by an large influx of new people. As part of that influx, I think you should ask yourself, are you part of the problem, or the solution?

It's not for me, but for YOU to say.

Well, if you feel so strongly spotlite, why do you keep coming back??

you hate the noobs so much, and talk about how they ruined this site, yet you return again and again.?

I would understand if your answer was because your friends from around your area are members, or you like chatting with the vets, but why do all of the other vets keep coming back. im sure its not for the same reasons.....Maybe they enjoy the site for the information. Maybe your alone on your feelings.........or maybe your just like the majority, ....they say how much they hate the noobs, but you can always see them on the 'who's online'

dont take anything personal, for that would be the noob thing to do.

    Hi,

I wanna start off by saying That im a newb. I have been playing VF4 since I got it on my Playstation. I came to VFDC looking for info and knowledge about the game and I got that. I also met other people in Florida who played VF. We all thank VFDC for this.

We all started to play and have gatherings, and we started to want something. We wanted the respect of being viewed as some of the best in the country. Basically Florida wanted to prove itself to the VF community that we werent just shit talkers(cause really in all honesty we can be, but so can everyone). We worked hard and we got some vids up and Blonde_One and IMF got invited to NY.

This was awesome not just for them but the rest of us in Florida, cause you see, we play all the time and we all learn together, so them going up was a good chance to see if we were on the right track. And to our surprise, the guys who went to NY did really well.

Now the reason I mention all this is that basically what i think is going on is that, we are trying to prove we are some of the best, if not that best in the country. We try to share knowledge and make it to gatherings in other states and play the best, and the attitude we get is that we are scrubs, just cause we havent be low punching since the days when pai's hat still fell off.

IMF is probably one of the best akira players in the country, but none of you know that, and I bet none of you care. Why is that? Does it shock you that since were just a dumb state full of tourist, theres no way we can rule at a game as in depth as VF. Blonde_one plays VF faster that most people in this country and even japan, but you dont care you just want to start a fight with him cause he voiced his opinion. I think thats whats really the problem.

Im not trying to start a flame war, or make anyone uncomfortable or try and ruin the NYG3, actually im really looking foward to going,

I just think you vets should now were we are coming from. Bascially we are trying to be at the level your are, the best in our country, the top of the mountain, and we feel like we not allowed, not because we suck, but because our posts arent past 500,

I hope i havent made things worse, just a different view on he whole thing.

Well, I'm on the record of telling Blonde_one that this thread wasn't worth it. Everyone can't see eye to eye and that's fine. But it has turned interesting. We've seen some really ugly opinions and personal threats so far. Keep it up guys. "VFDC has been ruined by the the influx of interest in this country" That has to be my favorite sentiment so far /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif Beautiful! This is a public forum you know. Not some country club. IMO any interest is good interest for the game. I wouldn't want to be on your "Members Only" forum. VF is for everyone, and so is the internet. Welcome change or get crushed by it. That's the way it goes.

Wow, I see my topic is popular, lol. Well I'm beginning to see that I shouldn't have said anything. This thread is utter crap.

It comes down to basically this, I play this game for friendly competition. If your not friendly and also not competitive at the game then I'm not going to end up giving you an ounce of respect. Plain and simple.

For those of you that think I'm a noob, please by all means come to NYG3 and prove it to me. Otherwise, STFU Vet!!! lol.

I guess I should be happy, FL does rock for VF comp. And there aren't any players here that have anything to complain about. Some VFDC guys can be such soft bitches. Everyone is under the assumption that if your not Japanese why bother, and if you think you can get that good, "your stupid"? This is just my competitive nature and some of you guys are really fuelling it. later.

you ppl are so fucking thick in the head ..you still don't get it

no one is interested in proving who's superior and stuff...

no single vet here is interested in flaming a newbie as soon as he sees one online...

There's a specific type of newbie we dislike...and I'll wager that it's the same kind of ppl u dislike too...

It's those that don't do their research...those who are arrogant...those who are not polite...and those who refuse to see their mistakes....those who trash talk and brag abt being number 1 when it doesn't mean a god damn thing. ( FWIW, I'll always put my money on my buddy Ad over YOU.)

TAKE A FUCKING GOD DAMN LOOK AT URSELF AND SEE WHICH CATEGORY U FALL INTO.

It's never been abt post counts...skills..spelling..coherent sentences and stuff.

Spotty mentioned friendship in his post.
It's something that always been on this site and a critical factor(IMO, the most important factor) that kept us going and keep coming back for more n more.

This so called elite club u newbies to the board like to bitch abt is actually nothing but a club where FRIENDS that have known each other for yrs! IF u're not in it, it's simply because u're not our friend(yet)! It's as simple as that! Don't make a fucking moutain outta a molehill

Us members of this elite club don't like FRIENDS that trashtalk just because it's the 'internet'. Friends tend behave the same way online n offline...not 'it's ok to talk shit because it's the internet, as long as we are cool offline'.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wrong again fuckwit. Stop twisting spotty's answer around. Honesty, humility, generousity and sincerity and contribution to the site are the way things works around here. Just like how spotty offered to let me stay at his place a couple of yrs back (when I was a newbie on the board)...just like how I went to the airport to pick up a total stranger..let him stayed over at my place and played VF and over the yrs..we became good friends (this is just the one case....many others have become my good friends..thanks to VFDC).

If this is the elite club u guys hate...well, wtf is wrong with our club?

If u and ur crew would like to continue with the current attitude of ' oh woe am us newbies'....well don't expect to be warmly recieved in the future.

Off the top of my head, the few names below are all posters that used to be newbies...and yet, they are very MUCH respected n very damn well liked by many of us .
    ETP
    VF4Guy(or VF4 Akira)
    BaoBab
    Mirkan
    Zero-chan
    Great-Deciever
(this is only a short list of ppl I can remember at the moment)
Not a single one of them are arrogant, not a single one of them trash talk or brag etc etc etc

That's why we like em and that's why they are in this so called 'elite' club.

    That's the way it goes.

Problems with most VFDC vets my ass.
How many vets do u guys know in RL? How many of the vets do u guys speak to online day in day out like we do?

Like Spotty described..many don't wanna post...because of the current state of the site!

So where do u get off being angry and badmouthing many of my friends that haven't done shit to u?

What's the fuck is so big a deal abt Piccolo not turning up in frolic? Was it so important that Piccolo must turn up? He wanted a gathering to be with friends...that's how he likes to play his VF. What gives blondie a right to bitch abt Piccolo not turning up?

    Wanna know another fact?
In all my years here, I have never seen spotty type such a post at all. Spotty's posts HAVE ALWAYS been informative, great fun to read. He's easily by far...many vet's fav poster (great friend to many I am sure of that too).

U wanna take a good guess why he would suddenly reply to this thread?

    Finally...

    READ MY SIG

This thread is utter crap, but I'll contribute for the hell of it. I'm wasting time on the net right now. First off, I stopped coming to VFDC until recently cuz all the "junk" threads that kept popping up. It quickly got tedious and boring to read. I can see how the "vets" got annoyed by it. Here's just a suggestion (not trying to sound smart or sarcastic here) ignore it. Let the so called "noobs" regulate it themselves. I'm sure there's a nice fellow in the whole bunch of "noobs" is gracious enough answer their fellow "noobs" query. If a "vet" feels like answering nicely without a flame it would be more appreciated than "Use the search you stupid @#@%ing idiot." Then again it does seem tedious to answering the same question 10,000 times in a month.

"Welcome change or get crushed by it" I loved that line in Chrono Cross. Props to IMF. Now spotlite, it appears that you were a little upset that some of the useful information that you posted didn't get any recoginition that is deserves, while meaningless threads like this gets all the attention (LoL). I briefly touched on a subject on pride on one the meaningless threads you pointed out about the reset of ranks. It applies to this as well. I'm sure there are SOME that appreciated the work that you and others have provided. Some might not come out and say it to give enough attention to it like the other threads, but I'm sure it was appreciated nonetheless. Pride does do funny things to people, it doesn't matter how small or where it comes from.

The main point I'm trying to get is that is a public forum. You have to welcome the new trends that come. It might be for the better or for the worst, but either way you have to accept it. If not, you're going to end up being frustrated and angered by all the changes. I for one like the idea this is for the people who want to learn and socalize about the game. Even if their sharing of ideas are meaningless (i.e. Post your rank, or my personal fave "how do you dress your character" LOLOL). I think it would be a terrible idea if VFDC was closed to the open public and only allow a certain few to join in their discussion about the game. That's what elite country clubs are for, not the net. This is just my opinion and the 2 cents that I'm dropping.
The funny thing is that I'm pretty certain that a couple of years ago, people were just DIEING to have more people play VF and now that it has come true somewhat, they don't really want it that way anymore.

LoL How do you dress your character. LoL You can't get a better thread to laugh at than that.

Ha ha! Both, I think! People who get flamed for no reason are most likely to leave... but people who think they are getting flamed for no reason when they are just stupid, will probably ruin the whole thread trying to rebel.

I am a newb, but I read a fair amount of the threads about lei fei or VF in general before I registered, so I'm not just butting in for no reason. I don't really take myself seriously, hence the picture (and the user name), so feel free to criticise where needed!

no offens on this blonde_one, but you blew things out of proportion, you want so much to be recognized more than a newbie but did you ever think that maybe your actions and not the vets that make you look like a noob, the Vets (summers) is right about this site not being about the number of post you make, you seem to believe that they're called Vets because they've posted so many things but the truth is its not their number of post that made them Vets is the amount of knowledge they contribute in a single post, just a thought but can you compare the amount of knowlegdeable contributions they've given to yours? /versus/images/icons/cool.gif, just a friendly advice man, Think first before you act, plan first before you execute. your impulsiveness is making you look very immature, this things are what make you look like a newbie. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Such nasty words. At what point did I offend you so personally? I am sorry if I've attacked something so dear to you. All I've tried to do in this thread was help Blonde_one make his point more clearly. Dude, that post is too big for me to touch on all the points you made. But there's way too much hate. Chill out. Not everyone is going to take the internet as seriously as you do. No two people will look at any one thing the exact same way. Figure that out and you'll be a lot happier.

Change is the way the World works. "Fuckwit" was uncalled for there.

I'm also sorry if I've come across as angry in any of my posts, as I have surely never intended to do so. Nor felt any anger towards you or your friends. Indeed it seems as if this subject has angered a few people though. That's too bad I guess.

Everybody is welcome in my home when they're in FL too. It's no biggie. /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

Conceivably, you could axe user names as well as posts? Hmmm.. this would get rid of any elitism that does exist, would impove equality: but the flaming would still happen, and maybe people would ask more stupid questions b/c they have no identity to tag it to... It sounded like a good idea in my head... sorry

    Hydra Guy.

Do you even know how the Hydra in FL originated? Probably not. I was chatting to UnCauzi in #vfhome around about the time all you FL guys had just gone off-the-fucking-handle in your first Florida thread under Jamboree. It was ripe with flames left, right and center, Enkindu was changing his avatar every 30 seconds, and it read like an IRC log more than anything. A real fucking eyesore.

Never, ever, had this website seen so much noise generated from one location. I had received many requests to close the thread but I refused each one. Part of me thought that if I closed the thread, you guys would just continue in another one, and it'll never end. While talking to UnCauzi and Enkindu in #vfhome, I jokingly likened the thread to the mythical Hydra -- if you cut off one of it's heads, two would grow back in it's place. The next day, UnCauzi creates the next, and still current, FL thread with Hydra in the subject.

So, naturally you can see why I find it hilarious to hear you say you're not a VFDC guy (whatever that means), when the fact is you probably owe a lot to this site, and the people who have contributed to it.

VFDC made you, whether you like it or not.

You registered in January. That's 6 months of online activity, which is miniscule in relative terms. SummErs correctly pointed out that post-count has never, ever, accounted for shit around here. It seems that you guys are more concerned, and even intimidated, by post counts more than anyone else. I think what you (and the FL guys in general) are missing is not a high post count, but simply experience, and experience can only come with time.

This is the statement which pisses most people off, including me. You're not protecting the "stupid newbie" but it's precisely the "stupid newbie" the guys around here can be accused of being assholes to, but it's all completely justified IMO, for the reasons spotlite, and others have already given.

And if you have problems with particular members, then why don't you call them out? It's just bullshit and insulting to generalise everyone like that, especially the people who helped make VFDC what it is today, the same people who made you.

And to me, 6 months = newbie.

Your enthusiasm for improving your skills comes off to me as nothing but sheer arrogance. To be honest with you, it's fucking ugly. I think all of us who play regularly have the intentions of improving and being the best we can. If we didn't then we'd get bored with the game real fast. But, I don't think anyone, apart from you, are suffering delusions of grandeur.

I hope you have fun in NY and improve your rapport with the many people you'll meet. I also hope the experience is positive and you come back with a better appreciation of the scene you're now a part of.
