That's just the way the card system is designed. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif Its another cost to play with costumed characters.

Once the card has used up its games it cannot be reused.

My guess its an extra fee to pay for upkeep to maintain VF.net servers. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif

This is why it is said that SEGA makes it's money off of the arcades and doesn't care about consoles... they can *PRICE GOUGE* and everybody bends over BOHICA style without a peep.

It's kinda why I never had the ambition to go to VF Mecca.

Maybe to study abroad or partake in JET; I just hope they have good swimming pools in whatever city I'm stuck in.

I dont't see how this is price gouging... the 500yen price for a card is basically a MSRP, and arcades can charge whatever they want for it. Some arcades charge 400 yen, some 300 if they're not doing decent business. For comparison's sake, Tekken cards also cost 500 yen and you only get 500 plays... and I don't think you wanna know how much money you can potentially spend on the 00XX Gundam card game series. To me the only thing I don't like about VF.net is that you can't purchase items via the VF terminal, so you have to subscribe to VF.net via cellphone or PC, which costs more money on top of whatever you spend on the game.

I don't see how this can be a problem anyways. Chibita and the likes spend a fortune in the arcades, they keep SEGA relatively healthy (at least VF breaks even) so that we get the console version.

Cards are cheap. And 500 is a LOT of games, I don't see where the whine is coming from. Nobody is forcing anyone to play with a card either.

Let's face it...arcade revenue subsidizes the console versions.

Would you spend all those resources to create a game as complex as VF5 only to see it sell for less than a million copies? AM2 can make a business case for the console only because because the majority of the development costs have already been recovered from the arcade.

If anything we should be GRATEFUL that there are people in Japan bending over backwards to fund the continued existence of this game on the home console.

I dunno about Chibita spending a fortune... The way he streaks in the arcades I'm sure he can have a good session on a credit or two

yeah, if you are good at the arcade, you can play for like 6 hours on just a few credits.

That assumes constant competition though for those six hrs right? If the arcade isn't continually flowing, you get thrown down to the single player mode, which ends fairly shortly, if I'm not mistaken.
