but that's the problem right there. It stops being a "Tekken versus Virtua fighter" game and then becomes a "Characters based on the Tekken series versus Virtua Fighter" game. And that's more vanilla then anything.

there already is one, sort of...a hacked rom for the genesis. can be found on most decent rom sites. plays like shit and crashes a lot, though..

 

This is because a surprising amount of humanity consists of mindless drones who believe anything they are told. Look at all the folks who say that FF7 is THE GREATEST RPG EVER.

The fact that FV2 didn't get a US release didn't help matters.

 

Like Bungle said if you can find it. I think it's called "Taken Vs VF" or something similar. It was a HK bootleg years ago along with "SF Vs MK" which wasn't too horrible.

 

FV2 was a cool game that deserved a US release. I had to settle for a PAL copy eventually. Hopefully, someday we'll get a new FV game or another updated Fighters Megamix.

Hey, you don't hear people talking about Dangun Feveron outside of shooter-centric sites, does that mean it's not a totally kickass shooting game that can hold its own again recent releases? AM2 themselves have said several times that a new FMM will not be forthcoming. They didn't like the way the first turned out to be horrendously imbalanced, it seems.

 

/versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif It may not have been incredibly balanced, but it's still fun as hell.

Ok, but you do hear Tekken 4 being discussed probally MORE than any fighting game and even if only half the Tekken heads accept it, thats still more than the acceptance of VF. Having some fangirl zealot defense and likng of some video game does wonders for you.

 

Popularity and discussion level does not = quality.

If the opposite were the case, then judging by sales in Japan, Derby Stallion would be the BEST THING EVER.

Another example: Ever hear of a great 2D fighting game called Rage of the Dragons? It came outaround the same time as GGXX and was sadly overlooked due to the prettiness of its competitor. Nonetheless, it's just as good if not better in many aspects. Or have you heard of IGS's Martial Masters? It's a better put together 2D fighter than most of Capcom's recent offerings, but practically unknown except to hardcore arcadegoers. Ignoring these fine titles, the public continues gleefully discussing how to cheap opponents out in CvS2. Sigh.

By the way, did that message have, you know, a point being argued? I read it at least five time and could NOT figure out what you were responding to and/or what point you were trying to make (assuming there was one as opposed to trolling).
