I am loving Shun more and more. His new moves and entrances and switches look really usefull into tricking opponents.

What I liked in the Shun Clips too is the Ura act by Shun on Lau, where he uses his new backturned double kicks. Nice!! /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Shun definitely got a WELL deserved upgrade. Nothing but respect to SHU, Kyasao, and of course myself and all the other cats here that stuck to him through the Ver. C. slaughter-fest.

As for the new moves -- the [4][K][P] is pretty dodgeable, so [4][K][K] or just [4][K] is preferred -- I didn't know this before, but it takes off one drink when you do it. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

The new throw [4][6][6][P]+[G] is REALLY kewl, although it takes off three drinks.

I about busted a nut at Shinjuku Sportsland last Friday. Segaru, Chibita, Mukki, PK Akira, etc. etc. etc. - all in the same place.

One thing I like about the high level players is that they actually use all the moves in every fight. Often when you play high ranked people, especially same dan-level, every one just low punches, throws, and play REALLY boring -- especially with Lau.

Chibita seems to be getting the [P][P][P] addition to the [6][1][G]+[P] throw landed more often than others. Neat.

Here is something that I smiled to though... Have you guys experienced playing against an opponent who land a certain move mid-fight that suddenly reminds you of a similar move of yours? There is a chance you will go with that move immediately after. In this clip of Chibita Vs. Hakushon, and in the begining of round 5 (around 2:00), Lau lands his new throw, Lion TRs and eats a sweep from Lau. When it was Chibita's time to attack later (Around 2:10), he sweeps, and than catches the TRing Lau with his [1][G][K] (I think). I don't know why, but it made me think that Lau's sweep somehow triggered Chibita's mind /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif.

Did I make sense? Hehe. And like Gaijinpunch said, it's more entertaining to watch a wider variety of moves for a charecter per fight. Sometimes they risk getting maximum damage after a crumble, for example, for the sake of change (Or maybe for some additional non-guaranteed damage).

Yeah, you made sense, and I think you'll see that a lot. A sweep is a generally good attack that gets your opponent on the ground. I generally do the same thing other people do, but then it turns into a sweep fest, until someone is smart enough to block it. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Hakushon vs Chibita was an entertaining match! About time we see some well known players challenge too!

BTW, two new clips are up at baiagu. Lau (baiagu lau) vs Kage (temuzin) and Sarah (masyu) vs Kage (temuzin).

More of Hakushon goodness @ http://www.aka.ne.jp/~fantasy/
akira vs lau, akira vs lau, and lau vs lau

Also, jacky vs lion clip at act-net

GP: Strange, jacky stats didn't show up, I can't see his win ratio. Do you know what is going on?

    Hey Myke:

I think you're missing the joke in the name. It's ViagLau --- like Viagra. Japanese pronunciation makes it Baiagura -- just throw on a 'u', and you've got a cheesy pun.

    HammerHead:
You can change how your stats look. Ratio only, wins & losses only, WIns only, number of matches only, or nothing, like that guy did. Personally, I think it's a bit cowardly, but that's just me.

That Jacky vs. Lion clip is an old one. So if any of you people have been downloading every EVO clip that's been out, you probably have this one.

    Anyway, thanks for the update.

GaijinPunch, heh, where did I give the impression that I didn't "get" his name? I've constantly been telling people, especially on #vfhome, the origins of his name (vai-a-gu-ra-u) and how it's a play on viagra + lau.

I simply refer to the site as baiagu because that's how it's appears in English, and as natural extension, the player's name as well.

    Yeah I know, no biggie.

Ah -- didn't know that he had his own site, and attempted to write it in Engrish.

I should start a list of improperly spelt (hehe) ringnames. A few that come to mind are.
Phenix & notrious. Not near as good as a flyer for a 'birthday bush' I saw not too long ago.

I've been down on Lau due to overexposure and the fact that
everyone and their momma can play the guy and win with some of the
most boring play (low punch, dash dash, elbow, low punch, throw) of
    any character.

Thank goodness for Evo putting some suppleness in Lau's
movements; he now seems like a living being and not just a robot...
and it looks like his new moves are really cool and effective, and seem to
be preferable over the same-old attacks of Lau's. Particularly Lau's
double-fisted smash? kind of overhand...and the two throws, the push-aside
arms throws followed with double-fist in the chest in one case and in another
(gotta be a Lau staple from now on) a three-hit? combo with an uppercut and a body blow at the end...hardcore.
At least if there are so many Laus out there, they aren't going to be as stonily
    simplistic as before.

And did I imagine it, or was there some kind of back-push type move
this Lau performed? A back-push or a spinning backfist? Anyone else see
    that?
