New SHGL update about EVO

I'll be meeting my friend Glenn at SHGL tomorrow night (Thursday, Oct 10th) around 7:30 - 8:00 to play GF 8th mix. I'll certainly be open for some VF4 evo as well.

Unfortunately, VF4 Evo has been replaced by KOF2002.

That happened today.

Went to Camelot on the way home, it's not there either.

 

Just talked to a manager over at SHGL (should've gotten his name as he appeared knowledgeable). They still have the EVO board but no plans to use it (it didn't test well for them - yah, probably due in part to it being on an ugly monitor and having no discernable sounds). The board is an evaluation sent to them by SEGA - they have not come to claim it or asked that it be returned. Manager said that it wasn't for sale at this time.

The actual game may be released in the next two weeks for around $2100. Manager doesn't plan to buy the game, says the test board is the same as the planned retail release. He said I should go through regular distribution channels to buy the game.

Maybe the test board will be for sale in about a month (my words, not anyone else's). My knowledge about the test board or any board is limited. Weekend manager (different guy from above) did try to adjust video (cabinet used a low res monitor). He wouldn't try to adjust sound, said that test board made things difficult. His lack of knowledge or an actual problem? I don't know.

I'm going to search for a distribution website, but I feel that this test board could end up being the least expensive option.
