no offence, but if you don't think ppl use throws in 'high level play' then you don't watch vids nor do you play decent competition.

yah, Asukas throws are vital for her mix up games. One throw can set up an air combo too which is the main throw ppl use with Asuka.

I rarely, rarely see them in the arcades I go to here. Of course, sometimes you see a Feng player scare the shit out of their opponent and freeze them up, and then they throw them 4 times in a row or something, but from what I have observed here, the throw is only useful when the opponent is freezing. Otherwise most characters can use a nice safe launcher as they get up if the opponent is throw happy.

Regardless of my perspective and opinion, you can't deny that throwing in Tekken is not even half as important as throwing in VF.

Hopefully version 5.1, which will allow you to block high or low when you techroll (like VF), will get rid of the incredibly safe, +50% damage ground game that some characters have and allow people to start using wake up throws, mixing up their game instead of using 2 or 3 moves all the time... etc.

Additionally, being a Tekken newbie I have found the discussion here very useful, indeed, so thanks to all who have contributed.

Though I suck real bad at T5 it's still a fun break from the soul-owning compulsive obsession that is 4 Evo.
