Hey there. Long time VF aficionado. I'm located in NY. Looking for some friendly competition. Or unfriendly...whatever as long as it's a second player. Can anyone hook me up? I do not own an Xbox 360. I prefer to play in person. Nice to meet all of you!!

hey what's up y'all a vf noobie and I'm new VFDC and I'm trying to get better with Kage(and Im a former Jacky player)the only VF game I own is VF4 Evo for PS2(no i can't afford a ps3 or a 360 at the moment so its the only thing I got)
P.S is vf difficult to learn is there really 2 much stuff 2 remember? and will this affect my Soul Calibur/& tekken skillz

Helo, can't say there is too much stuff to remember, just practice what you know and it will be second nature. VF4 evo tutorial is a great way to learn about all VF in general, except DM and OM, they're in VF5, which you can't get yet, like me. It will affect your SC and Tekken skills, but VF is more balanced than Tekken or SC.

I kind of feel bad, cause I've been lurking in the forums while never having properly introduced myself in this thread:
I've actually signed up on this site since 2002 but never really visited until 6 months ago when I got more serious with VF5.
I'm originally from Boston USA (Greek-American) and have been living in Greece for the past 4 years.
After 6 months of VF I still feel real noobish but I don't mind, given that this god-sent of a game has a number of interesting things to learn.
I use mostly Akira and sometimes Jacky for fun (and really want to try out Jean).
I'm looking forward to many matches with all of you - online and even more so face to face (when I visit the USA I will try my best to fit a VF scene in).

I think it's a lot more difficult to learn than SC or T5, given that in every instance of the game there are a bunch more options to choose and VF in general is nowhere near as linear as the other 2.
If you invest enough time in VF it will be worth your while...it will take some time though; more so than T or SC...which for me feels like child-play now.
Oh, and welcome to the club, enjoy your stay /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Jak siÄ™ masz? My name is Sean and I'm from New Jersey. My XBOX Live gamertag is Insane Khent. Anyway, while I'm new to VF, I'm not new to fighting games. I'm a little familiar with the offline tournament scene as I have competed in a few for DOA and SC (no, I never placed).

I've been reading up on VF and have heard that it is far deeper and more balanced than pretty much any other fighter out there. With the obvious issues of said balance in the aforementioned games I used to play, this was exciting news to me.

Anyway, I'm quitting SC and making this my game of choice. I'll be practicing and competing offline wherever and whenever I can.

yes I know its more balanced than both tekken & SC but getting the people here 2 like it..its almost impossible!

Insane Khent where in NJ are you at? I'm in Union County. There are very few VF players in Jersey and I would like for the scene to grow. There is a VF player that lives near me so we should get some offline games going.

Hello, my name is Danny and I'm new to the site.
Have played and owned every VF since the first (with the exception of VF kids) and have recently started enjoying VF5 on the PS3.

hoping to see VF5R on the consoles soon.

Hey guys, the name's Haven and I've been lurking in this site for 2 weeks now until I finally decided to register.

I played VF first on the Saturn. I never got into it until my brother got Virtua Fighter 4 for the PS2. I got hooked so much that I decided to give up the other fighting games and devote all my effort into this. I got obsessed with Sarah's flamingo kicks to the point that I am considering studying Taekwondo (school's just a few blocks away from my house!).

    Here's hoping for PS3 VF5R!
