Those could be photoshop'd but even if they were real, who told you to get your account banned in the first place? The second is a standard answer from companies... Not sure what's so funny about them...

so somehow by dropping the DRM issue you will suddenly think all those exclusives will be real exclusives? I think you should think about the industry really. Less and less games are exclusives because by doing so, you've already limited yourself to selling so much. So its better to reach out to both systems so your customer list is bigger than if you were to sell to one console. I think launch exclusives do try to help people decide which system to go for. Like the PS4 titles announced, none of the exclusives were interesting - except the 1886(or something like that) game which showed a very good trailer. Although it wasn't game play trailer...

I agree with a lot of what you said Brisal. I don't give a rat's ass about used games or the online requirement because I always play online and rarely buy used games. In fact, I wish they get rid of the discs so I don't have to deal with the idiots at Gamestop and can just download my games and play them instantly--I can't stand Gamestop. They're the most shameless salespeople ever; it should be called Shamespot.-- going to the mall to buy a game is just a pain in the ass IMO.

Now, XBOX/MS fucked up their roll-out BIG TIME. Like, they completely FUCKED the FUCK up so badly. The fact that they put that initial release conference on XBL for all gamers to see was a mistake. I'm sitting there saying, "WTF? Who cares about watching TV on their XBOX??? Are they going to show us any games"

Now, the fact that I would even question getting the next Xbox is proof that Microsoft fucked up beyond all comprehension. If they never said anything, and just released it, I would have bought it; I was the biggest Xbox fanboy and had been dreaming about buying the next generation Xbox on day one for YEARS, literally years. They have me so shaken up that I'm not sure I can buy it. I'm afraid the system will flop and the competition won't be good online because so few people are going to buy it.

I want to know who thought they could build the next generation of their gaming console without gamers??? What average Joe is going to pay $500 dollars for a gaming console you can watch TV on? You NEED the hardcore gamers to sell a console; it's so asinine I can't really believe it's happening How stupid is that? They have completely blown it and it's just shocking that I'm actually afraid to buy something that I've been dreaming about buying for 5+ years. Crazy...

The games coming out for Xbox look better to me. Titanfall and KI both look sick. XBLive will always be the best multiplayer platform and the server upgrades sound RIDICULOUS! So many servers it's insane! Also, the cloud computing aspect of XBone... Is this the future of gaming? I have no idea, but if it is it would be nice to have.

I'm completely torn as to which way to go, and coming from someone who LOVED the OG Xbox and 360 as much as I did, Microsoft should be VERY afraid. I'm almost bitter. I don't know what to do.

What you're seeing now is the bitterness of the last 6 years of PS3 misery being poured out in desperate jubilation, but when you try and ask them about the games, this is what you get: GoW and laptop demos, LOL

Here, let me try: Valkyria Chronicles from Sega early on, a 5 year wait of PSN lag vs random anon accounts and watching formerly exclusive publishers like Square and Konami jump ship, then Ni no Kuni at the end, cool system huh? Even the "disappointing" N64 had a better spread. Honestly, what have Sony ever given gamers with taste apart from Ico, years back? PlayStation 3rd place was what it was this gen. 360 had the awesome online play for fight fans and some excellent Sega and Saturn stuff on XBLA, while Wii had the killer offline JP exclusives like Sin & Punishment, Xenoblade Chronicles and obviously their in-house system seller titles like Zelda, Kirby and Pokemon. Once the godly hardware of 3DS XL warms up, you can finally forget about Sony handheld aspirations in the West. Steam as well now, smashing them on netplay and content delivery (£50 for a 22GB game through a wireless conn? Eww).

If they don''t get out there and actually talk to key developers and start securing outstanding games like back in the PS1 or PS2 days, and tighten up their damn hackfest network, Sony will just end up in this position again, 5 or 6 years from now.
Cost of console, connectivity, used sales, subs etc., aren't ultimately the main, long term issues for passionate adult gamers like myself in our 30s who have all the spending power these companies want to keep wooing anyhow ;)
PS3 was an overpriced blu-ray player with no games, and as of writing, PS4 is a dirt cheap blu-ray player with... you guessed it, still no games.

Haha, that Photoshop part a joke or are you serious? Not sure how hard it is for you to open Twitter :/

Also, don't forget that other users have the ability to report you and get your account banned. Will only take some lazy guy on MS to not do the proper checks and bam, everything you own is gone.

The most basic function of a gaming console is that... well... it plays games. So if that's a given, I'd imagine they thought, "well let's show them what it can do along with playing games". So that assumption of not spelling the obvious to people created a negative effect for some reason. I was originally like where's the games too. But thinking about it, it makes sense since they're trying to market it to hardcore gamers AND the general public.

I think Microsoft is to do what the Wii did. The Wii was successful not because it was marketed to us "gamers" as a games console, but to everyone (people who don't really play games included) that it's just a device sitting in your living room which is a lot of fun. It was great when it kicked off and nearly everyone I know has one but they never play it any more. So if Microsoft can emulate what the Wii did but sustain that audience somehow - combining the revenue of both the "gamers" and "lay people", then they're in big business. The lay people I've spoken to liked the idea of one machine connecting everything together. They think it's great how you have to just deal with the one thing to get all of the features of a TV (play DVD/blu-ray, watch live TV, play games). I thought about it and it made sense to me. When I call a big company regarding something, I often have a machine on the other end and even get passed around from one department to another. It'd be great if just the one customer representative could deal with all queries.

I also think we are being a bit childish in thinking that just because Microsoft wants to introduce their machine to a different market as well. It doesn't automatically mean that it'll have a negative impact on us.

I don't have anyone I want to follow nor do I intend to post stuff about myself on a regular basis. All I was saying is that screenshots could be photoshop'd. Plus that isn't "bad" customer service at all.

I'm sure you'll need to have done something pretty bad in order to be banned. Otherwise, if you just play online maturely, the chances of this happening is very low - so low that it's not something to be concerned about.

Even if you have no intention to use twitter, doesn't take much effort to open a web page and see for yourself. With the twitter handle being right there, would have probably took less effort than the post you made about it.

    I'm not so sure...

My first account on XBL, for some reason it wouldn't accept my CC info or let me use pre-paid codes (for MS points etc.), because of this I ended up with free xbox live. I rang them about six times in total to try and solve the situation, so I could pay for the XBL sub and get pre-paid codes working. They could never solve the situation so I ended up with free XBL for just under a year.

Guess how MS handled it in the end?

    They banned my account.

That's only one case sure but it shows they are very capable of handing out bans to users for their own incompetence.

    For you, maybe.

That's exactly what Feck said. I want to have full access to my game collection regardless my account status or my internet connection. I don't mind at all if MS suspend accounts from gamers who are using illegal software or having inappropriate behavior.

You can be banned for getting too many reports. A lot of people report simply because they lost. It's feasible your console you paid for is not allowed to play games because you're a bit too good and played a few too many arseholes. Ridiculous idea.

I don't understand how blind this Cheeky guy is that is refusing facts from an official MS twitter page. This community doesn't give a rat's ass about console alliance, but VF. A lot of us went out and bought a PS3 just for VF5. And when it was announce that the 360 was getting the updated version, we when out and bought it. Same could be said about a lot us double dipping on the PSN and XBLA versions of FS. Feck and I gamed more on the 360 than the Blu-Ray player *cough* PS3. Same could be said about other members in this community as well. So saying that some are "butthurt" is laughable. No one here is butthurt, but amazed how MS fucked something up so good.

And about the banning thing. That is really fucked up, because I gotten ban for dumb shit on Gears and CC info they gotten wrong a few times...

Actually, I didn't notice it was from Twitter. Since I'm not a Twitter user it's not difficult to miss that. I just saw an image with no link to it.

Do you mean they gave you the membership for free or ended up with the free version (no multiplayer) for that duration?

But that wasn't really a "ban" ban was it? I guess they were deleting your account. I see why your bad experience would make you worry about it but it was a rare scenario. It could possibly have happened to another handful of other people but it's not something that the remaining people will be concerned about.

Yeah, I haven't had a problem with Xbox Live.

I wear glasses, so not clinically blind, but a bit blind. :p Well I did say even if they were true it's not an example of bad customer service. I wasn't dismissing it as 100% untrue.

The majority of your posts seems to suggest otherwise. Plus this thread is about the next gen consoles not VF....

But some people dismissed the Xbox One exclusive line up just because... they were going to be on the Xbox. Then they will name a few PS4 titles (most of which will be out on Xbox One also) and one that isn't even showing gameplay footage but a mini movie of the game concept.

Could it be because of the way you speak to people?

    XBL Gold without any payment.

Seemed like a glitch on their end that they couldn't resolve. I was adamant about paying for it (though I was more frustrated at the inability to use pre-paid codes tbh) but they couldn't solve the issue no matter how many times I contacted them and I recieved an actual ban.

Must've been something wrong with the account... Well, at least they gave you free membership as a good will gesture.

    No :/

The free XBL gold was an error on their end and also why I recieved the ban.

Both consoles are great, very powerful and if I have the money, I will buy them both just like I did with PS3 and X360. Also, I have acknowledge of the fact that game companies don't want used games. I respect that. But as a consumer, I'm not willing to pay 50-60€ or 60$ just to buy the right to play a game. For that kind of money, I want to own the game. Simple as that.
