    LOL.

Tested a few wall combos out last night. Wanna test some more over the weekend, and I'll post the result's on Monday (If I get time, work is BUSY ATM!).

My stepping is improving as well, GOD DAMN I'M GLAD I'M BACK INTO VF!

    Namoo!

So, is anybody going to be interested in coming here, coz I too am back into VF. I figure we could make it a regular thing, maybe one every fortnight/every month. If Ade and Chris could make it, then with me and Kain it would make 4 people (duh) so we would be constantly playing. this would help revive our interest in the game, and will also dramatically improve our skill level. Any time Dan wanted to come up, he would be more than welcome. it would be a comfortable atmosphere, we wouldn't be stepping over wires and cables like in Chris' room of consoles/games and accessories!
I think this would benifit us all (especially Ade, as he seems to be improving drastically over time), because with constant human practice, we would all even out at the same skill level (like me and Andy were), and that is when the real improvements start to happen.

I think that's a really good idea Shaun, to hold meets at yours, the only problem with me is work atm.

My exams start on 20th May (exactly a month) and finish on 3rd June but I haven't been able to even start revision yet as I'm still learning new stuff in all my lecture courses and have around 10 pages to get done for my thesis. Coupled with the fact that to do my PhD in Lpool they're asking for a first, I really need to work my ass off right now.

But if I do ever have a spare day in my calender or want to have a brief rest I'll try and get involved in a meet.

Ade, got my xbox>ps2 convertor today in the post, will fi8nally be able to play 3rd strike on my xbox using my hori! Oh and Chicago typewriter is mean! Like a proper 30's gangster with it!

Yeah, the tommy gun destroys everything well quick. Chris, have you done Pro yet? Apparently in the US version, the bad guys take MORE hits to kill than in the PAL version! Might have to invest in a freeloader and the Import Version and prove my addictness!

I'm up for some meets at yours if enough 'manz' turn up that is.

My life is a big circle at the moment.

    Work>Gym>Eat>VF/RE4 REPEAT LOL.

Well, I doubt there will be anyone other than the regulars coming, but i think it will be better if it is a small gathering, it means we will get more games and can start to improve.
how about we get together the weekend after next (30th)? we should really start to play more often, as Ryan says "more practice will get you where you want to be".
you are welcome to come on the Friday nigh if it's easier, there is plenty of room.
    How about it?

Well, Mike's in Manchester either this weekend or next (it's his Birthday). So'll I'll defo stay around MC to play him, but I should be able to come in a week or two after that (I am saving for a holiday as well, so can't go mental with my money ATM).

But your right, the more you play, the better you get (well, obviously against decent comp LOL).

Well, why don't you invite him to come here aswell, he is more than welcome. Failing that, we could maybe have a meeting at your place or at Mikes?

If not, let me know which weekend he is coming up, and we can have a meeting on the opposite weekend, (ie. if it is on this weekend, then we can have the meeting next weekend).

Chris, do you think you will be up to coming to these meetings, coz I know that you will have further to travel when you move to Liverpool......?

I doubt Mike will have the cash to travel to yours as well as the train ticket to Manchester as well.

I live in a bungalow, so there's no way (due to space) we could have a meet at mine.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to the T5 final on the 21st May as well (I've just PMed Will on Gamiko), so that weekend may be booked as well.

I'm not 100% if I'm going yet (I'm meant to be travelling down with a few tekken heads). I KNOW I'll be spending my time playing VF as opposed to Tekken though!

I've not practised at T5 in ages and have no intention of, actually, but if I go, I'll DEFO see some cool shit AND have some decent VF play, so it WOULD be worth it. Just gotta get used to getting lost in London! LOL.

Ade I used to play Tekken from 2 up to tag and really liked it. Then I hated 4 and got into VF more seriously and when I go back to tag now I don't really like it anymore. Would you recommend T5 to me or is it just another rehash of the same old stuff?

Re: Saturday, 16th April, 2005, Results and discussion

Tekken 5 is a strange game. In some ways, I REALLY like it, in other ways, I think it's the most overrated game ever.

It's definetley not a game I think you would like.

However, if you want an easy as fuck game to learn, then it's worth playing. I'm only going to play it when I'm in London (If I go!) for a short time TBH, I might as well see the 'decent' players in London play, it'll probably be a lot better than the standard in Manchester (I'm talking in the arcade, not the session's at Chrises BTW! LOL).

It's kinda tekken 3 deluxe. My main gripe is the ridiculous wall damage, which you can't escape at all (like you can stagger recovery in VF, so it's not as bad). But the wall damage, DOESN'T scale at all. Although there level's WITHOUT walls, thank fuck!

Overall, I'd stick to VF, unless your REALLY bored. LOL.

Alright cool, I think it'd take some really big new changes for me to like it but I've been hearing rave reviews from some people so I thought I'd see what you thought.

I'm pretty much a one-game guy now as far as fighting games go I think.

Just out of interest, is Jin still hideously broken in T5?

No, Jin isn't that good in 5 anymore.

The 'stupidly overpowered' characters in 5 are:

    Bryan
    Steve
    Nina
    Wang
    and Heihachi.

This is my opinion of course, and people would disagree, but at least normal Jin isn't that good anymore (in 5, there is DevilJin as well as normal, who is bascially Tag style Jin).

I think that's what I don't like about tekken, you can be at a big disadvantage before the fight even starts just depending on the characters you pick.

I'll get Mortal Kombat instead /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    Hello slags

I stopped looking at this so I didn't get RE4 spoilers and come back to see you've had a meet! D'oh. Leave my job on May 7th - I quite enjoy games testing but 100miles a day commute is making my eyes bleed. Hopefully the experience will help me get something closer to home before I attempt to be a teacher again in September. Gayness.

Only thing I have played recently is Splinter Cell really. A bit of Psyvariar too. So many games sitting around that want playing!

Done RE4 on Pro yet? (I have! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif).
