No arcades with it I'm afraid but I'll put you up for the night if you need it no probs.

The place is non smoking I'm afraid but I think I'm near the front door anyway so you'd need to do it out on the porch. I doubt I'll be able to buy it unless it is in the first shop of quest which I don't think it is. I'll look into it though.

Hi Chris, I forgot, the old win pose 2 is in the second shop, so it doesn't matter.

I still wish they had evo in piccadilly amusements, I would live in that arcade if they did. It's a shame bloody the button masher hell that is Soul Calibur 2 is taking over manchester. At least the've still got tag at Jenny's.

Well as long as we get a scene going at first it should be ok. Hopefully the next time we do this we'll get more people involved and that and maybe it'll grow from there.

I must say I got the demo of SC2 and its a nice change to evo. Its pretty to look at and good for a laugh but in my eyes it'll never rival evo as my fav fighter.

Well, to be truthful what put me off SC2 was the masher that caned me in Namco station on sunday. I don't think SC2 is as good as the first, the tracking seems to be real crappy. Thank god for evo, or I'd be one bored games player.

And your right, we do need to increase the rep's in the north of england, there's a lot of undiscovered talent, and we need to prove it!

Yes too right. Like I said hopefully we'll get more people interested then maybe get some of the scottish VFers down for some games or better still all travel down to London mob handed and play the guys there or whatever. Tracking and evading etc in the demo feels very strange to me in SC2 and it is very possible to button bash as I have cleared the demo like this. If I can find some games to trade in I may get it, though I wouldn't want to actually spend money to get it if you know what I mean.

The sad fact is SC2 will sell more than evo.

And going to londonn will be ok for accomadation, as we will be able to stay at my mate mike's flat (he has just started at uni london). (I'm assuming it will be ok).

Oh yeah ... I meant to say that going to London would be sometime in the distant future. I'd much prefer to build up a good scene here first and hopefully get everyone to a decent standard before trying to take on the big guns down south. Its something to be aiming for as we play. I'll try add the order of matches we'll do later . Oh btw your Akiras in yellow now with red hair and the Yuki Dojo board and your Lau has a bun in his hair.

Sounds like a good call getting in some practice before going to London. I've played some of the guys down there and the difference in skill/knowledge of the game is huge.

We Scottish players definately need allot more practice, especially me. /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif None of us would stand a chance against the top players in a tournament setting.

Mmmm yes thats why I want to try and turn this meet into a regular event and hopefully get more people up for it. My major downfall with VF is that I don't know enough about "other" peoples moves...Vs Shun, Jeff and Brad for example I've no idea what will work against them in the majority of situations you know guaranteed stuff/ when to dodge etc. When we've got things sorted here you're welcome to come down with faded and who ever else to have some matches.

Ade, I think your Sarah has bunnie ears, some earring, short hair and some glasses (obviously not all on at once) and purple colour. I'll try and give most players chars a new look to that of the default settings unless they don't want me too.

Good point (if a little worrying). I'm only used to fighting against Jeffry, Jacky, Akira and Lei Fei at a decent level. The rest has just been against the AI. It would be cool if we could keep this a regular thing since it would drastically improve our (mine at least) knowledge of how to play against other characters.

How often would "regularly" be?

Hopefully regular would be like once a month or maybe once every two weeks on the weekend for example I dunno. Playing together as a small group would all improve peoples playing I'd reckon as we all play as such a range of characters we'd all get use to how to actually play against human competition. One problem I have with some mates who live near me and play it is that they don't take it seriously or even know what they're doing half the time. As a result they play in a completley random manner and until recently it really threw me off as I never knew what they were going to do. I would say playing an average fighter who plays a char you're weak against would definately help your understanding of what works/ how to play against that char in the future.

Yeah I'd certainly be up for it a little down the line. I think a couple others would be as well. A few of us have been wanting to perform a little team edinburgh outing for a while now, and london is a bit too far of a journey for some of the folks here I think.

It looks odd at first but its as fair as it could be. Some players will have two consecutive matches, some will have to wait for their next match but everyone will have 5 matches at least (you Vs all other players once). Remember the players with the two lowest win ratios or by whatever means we're working stuff out by, will be out at the end of this round (unless they want to fight for 5th and 6th place). I might not get a chance to add much more here as I'll be busy the next few days so just to recap; I'm meeting slimadey and Darius at 5, we'll then come and meet Rayne and Elite who should be getting to the jaguar warehouse (near a small tesco, just before curry mile, past a hospital and opposite a big park) about 5.20ish and WackyJacky will be met outside the gates of Hulme Hall on the way back to mine hopefully (about 5.30ish).
