I personally would not consider that worse than having my character's look the way I want them to look in a videogame. Chris: I'm not too sure what rank my Sarah is on, will you be ranking her to Champion?If so, I'd like the following colours/items (I know this may not happen, I'm not expecting you to get them all, maybe in the future? /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

Your Lau and Jacky are suited and booted and Sarah is half way there as she's only on Warrior atm and seen as though she was my original VF char I'll certainly be getting her to Champion. To recap the story so far...

Not really, since all those champions have been done by me alone over the course of about 8 months.

Besides there aren't any VF cabs here at all.

Mye? to be honest, i have never heard the name before, but i am quite ignorant (and forgetful) about who is good and what not. if the challenge is there, i will be more than happy to take it.
where is this Mye and how do you think i could go about getting to play him. do you think he would be interested in coming to leeds and playing us? coz it would cost less for him to get a ticket than it would for us to both buy one, this way, we can buy all the food.

Chris, about those MGS2 challenges, can you tell me the ones you have, coz there might be some that i haven't done (i really like the game, i play it over and over, for no reason whatsoever) and i want to have done them all.
also, when you complete the game, you get some password and it tells you to go to a website, but i went there and it doesn't work, what is the deal?

 

MGS 2

atm only Ade has actually met and played Mye. He's about 30, from Hong Kong and lives near Ade in manc. He's played VF for about 10 years and uses Wolf, Lau, Aoi, Brad and Lei from what I know.

He only registered the other day here.

As for MGS2, the codes probably won't work anymore as it gave you rankings back in the day of how good you were (early after the game was first released).

Heres some stupid things to try:

1. Write your initials onto a knocked out guard with tranqs and take a pic of it.

2. Get to Olga and beat her in under 1 min 4 secs without any alerts and only using 4 tranqs to knock her out (head shots).

3. Knock out 5 or so guards (after setting an alarm off) aboard the tanker in the room where the bar is. Hide as a cardboard box, wait for them to wake up and try and escape the room still disguised as a cardboard box.

4. At the end of the tanker section, tranq every marine in the holds!

5. Get pissed on whilst at Big Shell (take it you've probably done this)

6. Wake up guards faster with the fire extinguisher.

7. Take a pic of ocelot as he approaches you in the hostage room (still have mine saved).

8. Find and take pics of all the posters in the game.

9. Do pull ups/ledge drops to get to lvl 3 grip gauge (this is an obvious one)

10. Shoot a load of birds and see what the conel has to say.

11. Go into a toilet and equip a book and see what rose says.

12. Go to a urinal, look straight down and call the conel.

Hmmm loads more I'll see if any more come to me later.

just out of curiosity, why one minute and FOUR, why not one minute three/five/one minute flat?

I'll find a load more I've done/seen and post them back tomorrow.

The reason it was 1min4 is because that was the record back in the day for it. When the MGS2 demo was released with ZOE, some sicko did the whole demo in 1 min 4...with no alerts and only 4 shots of the tranq to take out Olga. I bet the record's probably under a minute now but I don't think anyone would still be playing it "time-attack" style. That's 1 min 4 from skipping the talk with Otacon to the final hit needed to take Olga down. At the time, my best was about 3 mins and 6 shots (it's easy to get to the fight fast, it's not so easy to pick of Olga with 4 shots).

Played Mye again yesterday and after a long discussion, I have decided to go 'old skool' and go back to Kage & Sarah. Mye suggested that the character's you are ORIGINALLY good with are the one's you should use. To be perfectly honest, the flowchart's for Kage & Sarah certainly feel more 'natural' and stick in my head more than Lau and Jacky's ever did (who Mye think's I use really well as well) but at the end of day I think I've always been better with Sarah (RE: Flamingo! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) and Kage (TFT! Ring out abusing Scum!).

I can already feel the tension between my Sarah and Shaun's Jacky now! The added bonus of Sarah (apparently) being 'overall' better in Final Tuned make's me feel a lot better as well. And what type of meet would it be without me TFTing someone over a low wall? /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Ade, juts started using your Kage file to get him to Warrior (since as though you gace your champion one to andy). Forgot how fun he was to messa round with. I'll try and get a few interesting items too but not many.

btw I've heard Sarahs flam stance is almost like someones move list from SC2. Thats the level of flows she has!

Shaun heres some other things to check out in MGS2:

1. At the first poster of the japanese girl on the tanker (black bikini girl) open the locker and knock so that you knock on her boobs. You'll here a "boing!". If you crouch and knock on her more "intimate" place you'll set an alarm off!

2. Take a pic of Olga when you're fighting her.

3. Take a pic when she knocked out after the fight.

4. Shoot her after the fight and here what Otacon has to say.

5. Keep saving non stop and talking to Otacon to hear his stupid sayings...eventually you'll hear mei ing in the background!

6. In the hold take a pic of the marine in his boxers and show Otacon.

7. Keep changing the pic in the 2nd hold and you'll get fotage of some japanese beauty (Mao Shiina I belive).

8. Take a pic of the right side of the projector screen in the 2nd hold and you may see Hideo Kojima in it.

9. You can see Ocelot near REx in the 3rd hold as soon as you go in.

10. In stealth mode, punch a soldier and they may think they were shot by a comrade.

11. At the part you have to shoot the detonators on big shell, leave and return 8 times and you get a clip showing you where they all are.

12. Hold someone up with an empty gun...if you pres the trigger and it simply goes click, the soldier will be onto you!

13. Hold up a soldier with grenade launcher/rocket launcher and they're supposed to wet themselves but I've not been able to get it to work.

14. When you cause an alert, if you manage to shoot the red ! sign the soldier will freeze for a few seconds and then not remember you if you run off.

15. Contact Pliskin when hes a sleep to see all his dreams.

16. After meeting Pliskin, follow him out quickly to see him escape in a box...you can shoot the box of him too!

17. Press L3 near women hostages and Raiden has a go at guessing vital stats for them! Do it on the old woman! Euggh!

18. Listen out for Johhny in the hostage chamber and when Emma is walking past all the mines. Seems he's got the shits again like on shadow moses island.

19. In the hostage room, tranq one of the woman and try look up her skirt..then call colonel and then try to save your game.

20. try and find all the easter island statsues in the game (7).

21. Listen to snake as you try to clear the explosive path for Emma.

Again still loads more things to do I suppose, just too much to mention.

 

How and why did I drop Kage & Sarah?

I'm so glad I'm back to using Kage & Sarah, my heart was never in Jacky/Lau, however good they are!

I've missed Sarah's cheap ass flamingo stance /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif and Kage is half-circular city and I've missed his evil throw's as well (RE:TFT! Yeah!).

Great to see FT get it's own place, certaianly is time saving!

after playing this Mye, do you think he could beat me or Andy? is he going to be at the next meeting? who is his main guy?

Just gonna say that I'm looking forward to the next meet where you can all experience the fearsome power of my Kage (easily my main/best char now) /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sooner the better because having no VF meets to go to is the pits.

Sarah V Jacky

Aah, brother v sister. Sarah has (probably) always been my best character and at the next meet, I will prove it! ( /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif). I've got her frame data printed out and being studied as we speak!

I will also try to keep my Kage in touch with Andy's, as his will inevitably piss all over mine! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mye's main is Wolf, but also uses Lau, Brad, Aoi and Lei-Fei. As it stands, I think you and Andy will beat him, but he is very good technically and defensively and has loads of setups (Especially with Wolf!). I don't think he can make the meet, as he work's Saturday's, although he REALLY want's some decent competition (he hasn't had any for 18 months!).

EDIT: Predictions/Hopes for This year's Evo:

1: Either Ryan or Myke to get gold this year! (Ninja!)(Take that Chibita and bloody Lion!)
2. A Sarah player in the last 8.
3. A Lau player in the last 8.
4. Ryan to bang up Shang!
5. Tekken 5 to be better than Tag (this one is probably a pipe dream!).
6. Tekken 4 to die a long painful death.
7. A DVD of the footage to be released (?)
8. All the Euro crew to get the respect their deserve.

Any more?

Still messing round with the system file but may not bother trying to get "all" chars up to champion, especially if no one uses them.

Heard from DeLune and he won't be able to make it to manchester on 25th sept as he's going back to Singapore for good soon and Dai is going to Japan for good soon too. Still, least some of us got to play him at the last big tourney.

 

Champion's

At the end of the day it doesn't matter bout having champion's (however cool! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) but as long as our 'main's are done that is MORE than enough, God Chris, how many hour's have you dedicated to it for our cause? (God, I sound like a bloody Jehovah's witness! /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif).

Nah, I'm sure all of the Northern Crew (Myself included!) appreciate the time and effort you've devoted to getting champion rank's/item's, but it's cool if you wanna stop. Can't wait for the next meet, I'm gonna make sure my Sarah is reeking of prime gorgonzolla for you lot . /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I aim to cheese! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
