What on earth would you learn from cheating?

Nothing, exactly.

I'd planned ages ago to get all 15 chars on the file to Champion solely for the purposes of learning about them. If you understand how to use them then you understand how to fight against them and understand better what throws to escape, what situations you might find yourself in, what oki games they have, what moves lead to nitaku situations etc etc.

It's not solely to "make em look nice", it's solely for my own understanding of the game.

Anyhow, nowadays I'm happy enough just playing chars to Warrior instead as that should give you enough of an understanding as to how a char can be used.

Ahhh that's it, that's where we're going wrong guys. Instead of talking about games or whatever the hell we want to on this thread, we should be talking along the lines of...

Me too /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I don't really take this thread too seriously as 90% of the posters here know one another so we just mess around on it.

I gather it's the same on the scottish thread.

Quite ironic that two of the biggest threads in jamboree are fuelled by about 10 geezers in the uk.

haha it's all good LM_Akira. i didn't know that you were learning characters as well.. i thought it was just for love of the items. but do you really learn them properly by playing the CPU? /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, I guess I'm not learning them "properly" really as you pointed out it's only vs ai but it does give you a far better understanding of the game.

I'm certainly not trying to be "good" with everyone, just learn enough about a chars game to be able to use it against them.

I suppose I could sit down with reams and reams of frame data and try and learn that way but it makes so much more sense when you see and do things by yourself. I think it's good to have a break from your main char from tim to time too as it stops you getting stale with them.

Yea, well I actually meant that as a jibe, as in it was long rather than pointed. But I think he did fairly well summarise the nonsense on our thread...I'm pleased it made you smile anyway.

How many people are lined up for September 25th? I'm assuming just the usual crew, although I hear Iron Mike is coming. I'm hoping Mye can get time off work, but don't hold your breath. Ironic really, cos he is gagging for an addict session, you guy's have to see his bad ass wolf and lau.

Believe it or not I was just about to post about who I've heard from thus far. So far I've had feedaback from about 10 peeps I reckon but I'm a little busy atm so I'll post the details of who I've heard from later today.

I fogot to write down Ironmike too, I think he's a certainty right? He did say he'd make the next meet no worries.

No word back from Will, though, not even by email. Wonder what he's up to atm.

Yeah, I've not heard from Will in AGES, I was MEANT to be going to London about a month or so ago, but he was on holiday in Singapore, no word since! Come out of the shadow's Will, I need to get some Laaandon action in! LOL.

Mike is a 99.99% certainty for the 25th Spet., I'm not looking forward to 40 spods in a row! /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'm gonna have to make sure my Sarah is up to scratch (and my Kage for that matter!).

Things with SPoD to remember is that firstly it's mid so it can be reversed, secondly its -15 on block ( /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif if you're fighting against Akira, /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif if you ARE him!) more importantly it's half circular so you have to dodge to Akira's STOMACH. In all other cases you need to dodge to Akiras BACK. That's one of the reasons many can fall for it as if you get stuck on auto pilot dodging to Akiras back non stop, you'll starting eating SPoDs like theres no tomorrow!

-15 is Very bad esp. v jacky (+ + for 67 Ouch! I guess that's one of Akira's strong points(He doesn't have many half circular's, but the one's he does have are great (Spod and DFS).

I liked that bunny thing, the way it's head spin's round is wacky!

Yeah SPoD and DFS are killer as they both need to be evaded in opposite directions plus DFS is between -2 and -3 on block which isn't too bad at all.

Also in an Aki v Aki match, say one blocks SPoD, then the other can use stpm combos (since stpm is only 14 frames as well as elbows).

Also, with his in FT hitting Mid and being cancellable, he really can psychologically screw with his opponent when they try to (or even think about) evading! No wonder he is so well represented at high level play!
