In fact if at all possible, it maybe best for a few to stay over at mine on the friday night in order for us to be able to get set up quickly and early the next day and start getting in some practice asap.

LOL Aside from the obvious 'Are you being served' gag, I'm willing to come over the night before and help to set up, I could do with AS MUCH practice as humanely possible TBH. Because I only live one bus journey away, it would be stupid for me NOT to come, unless there isn't room? Then we can talk tactic's for the big day and maybe have a stella or 8? Yeah it makes far more sense for you to come over the night before than to try and rush around the next morning to get in some early games.

I've already offered part of my room to a guy on the tourney thread, said he'd played you down in london and to Steev if he's coming but I think all 4 of us would be able to keep it real for the night, no probs for space. I would need some sleep though, especially as things will probably kick off as early as 8 the next morning, sorting out the room etc but it's the plan that makes the most sense.

Also we'd have to set up the tvs, tables, chairs and food etc and if there were 4 of us already there we could get some matches in real early.

Oh yeah and be sure to be chomping down those scotch eggs with some cheese n onion crisps and a stella or...12 as last time. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

...I've just bought Resident Evil Outbreak (US) and Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (US) which has Third Strike on it! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Will their be a chipped machine, if so I'll bring it, cos Third Strike kick's ass! I also bought Head Hunter2, don't know if it's any good?

Good to hear Jeffahn's coming, he was one of the only guy's to talk to me in Trocadero when I was down there, who's group are you gonna put him in? It'll also great to see Steve as well (and yourself, of course! /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

Yeah, G's Pai beat the shit outta me, I wasn't expecting to beat that bad! Cost me lot's of cash, although that's what the arcade's are all about I guess LOL. I expect to be down in Trocadero sometime in October, although I think I'm going Italy for a Tag tournie (with VF as well!) at the end of october, so it could be november when I go.

btw, Chris, can you (if you can be assed), send me a PM/post on the site, a list of everyone who is coming, and who they use, and also how good you think they are. (give them an "out of ten" rating). you should also give me a rating so i can see who you think is better than me, this way i can see who to watch out for. (don't worry if you think someon is better than me that i don't agree with, i won't start talking shit about anyone; these are YOUR opinions).

Why the FUCK is there is a better Sarah player in my group?

Can't believe it, now my Sarah is gonna look SHITE next to Stalwart's /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif, maybe I'll have to switch to Kage or Lau for the tournie. I know it sound's weird, but I think I'd rather play Sarah than Optimus's Shun, I really don't have a fucking clue how to play against him. (Cos I know Sarah's frame data and NOT Shun's!).

Chris, BTW Res. Ev. Outbreak is real good, but I think I personally prefer SH4 this time! /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif (Shock Horror). This is due to it being geared (in my eyes at least) toward's multiplay rather than single play.

Oh and PS2 Third Strike is the same as the DC version gameplay wise. Third Strike, NOW!

 

Groups

Firstly, on a totally objectional level, the group stage is designed so that only the BEST players on the day go through. Everyone will be getting 4 matches to prove themselves and will all have opportunity to pikc up points (you get 1 point for every match you win...eg Mye beats me 3-1 he gets 3 pts, I get 1).

C and D groups were already very strong before I added the other players last night. A group...well like I said I now see this as a 4 way battle for 2nd spot.

If I'd put Stalwart into C or D then you're guaranteed in losing a good player straight away because that'd mean 3 strong players in the same group. And it would mean a "lesser" player (I'm talking in the nicest possible sense here) would go through from the B group.

I don't see why organising a VF tournament has anything to do with where I'm from or what footy team I support.

If you take the time to look, EVERY group has 2 london players in it.

I have to use every trick in the fucking book to win this fucking thing (including possible heart attack's, strokes, loss of limb's etc), it's just I wanted to look even HALF decent and know I'll pale into insignifance next to Stalwart's Sarah, I even considered 'Doing a Ramsey', but I'm not too sure if I should cos I only live a bus journey away.

Not really as I don't take football as seriously as I used to.

Every group has 2 london players, so your group CERTAINLY isn't a group of death.

Did you want me to cheat or something? If I wanted too I could lump all the top players into the same groups and have us lot in another meaning 6 good players go out straight away and some of the lesser players go though.

That'd be cheating and showing favouritism.

The way I see it atm, everything is fair. Sure there are 1 or 2 favourites in each group but so what? It's the same for every group.

I can't believe one addition to a group has kicked up such a fuss.
