Yeah they might reduce it's "shinyness".

What else are you bringing? Or is it so big that it might not go in even if the bag is otherwise empty? Just carry it or something with some carrier bags over it incase it rains.

(BTW Andy, this isn't directed at you, just you were the last person to post!)

Playing Mye loads yesterday, his Lau is getting better and better. It'll be great to see him play at the tournie. (I specicifally remember me losing 10-6 in a Lau-Lau first to ten, but that's not too bad for me.

Got a new memory card in anticipation of the tournie next month (space for loads of fights!)

Was wondering (in the warm-ups) if we do some first to 5's? I don't think it would be too time consuming?

Only the BEST OF THE BEST Akira's (Like Ohsu's, Homestay's etc) scare the shit outta me, better than fighting a skank Lion/Jacky/Lau IMHO.

BTW I HATE fighting Brad I think people underestimate him.

 

Matches

From what I hear Brad sounds sick in FT. I've never really liked him or liked playing against him in particular but having seen old clips of myke's and ohsu's Brads, I'd have to say he has potential to be a bad ass mofo in the right hands.

As for matches, if we have 4 set ups, then first to 5 seems reasonable. 8 players on, rest wait and then all change over etc. Gives people a better chance of playing others.

As ever I'm all ears as to what other suggestions people may have.

I got the idea for first to five from a addict session in America I read about.

About Brad, any character that can set up you for a back stagger FROM A THROW, has potential, serious potential in my eyes.

I don't know if anyone is going to offer money first to ten's (which should be allowed as a 'one off')? Could be cool to have some if people have the money.

Another thing, what about everyone putting a fiver each into the pot for the tournie? Or is it just gonna be 'playing for pride'?

Yeah, thing is I've alreayd told everyone entry is free, seen as though we have a lot of players travelling down. I wouldn't want to go back on myself and say "Oi, £5 to play actually!".

Onny: We're going to be doing mostly casual play right? I'll probably use all my characters at some point (Akira, Kage, Wolf, Goh, Shun) but I'll stick to Kage or Akira for any mini tournies or whatever you've got planned.

P.S. You only like fighting Kage because nobody else has been man enough to use and + on you.


Ade: I think on the whole backstaggers are overrated in Evo, but that throw of Brad's is pretty cool because he can also use his biggest float starter and have it safe on guard if they QR.

Makes up for his otherwise rubbish throw game.

well i'm thinking we'll do a singles tourney and a random doubles tourney and maybe some sort of kumite for the three visitors (ie, set each of you up on a machine and just have continuous fights with us southerners). i have some prizes for the singles tourney /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

there will be three mystery prizes. the person who comes first gets to choose their mystery prize first, the one who comes second goes next and the third place gets the last one left over. this way, even if you don't win you might get the best prize.
it will be going on until everyone leaves yeah, or until i throw them out haha. should be all night at least, and probably part of sunday too /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
