Yes but Shaun, that was waaay back in the dark ages. You seem to forget that people improve when they train. People don't stay stuck at the same level if they're training hard to be better.

I personally saw Mike's Akira beat Ryan's Goh...and Ade said he saw him beat Ryan's Lau...so there's 2 times for you. (I dunno about the Lau tbh but I watched with my own eyes Ryan leave the machine after Mike's Akira had beaten his Goh yeah yeah only "one" fight but I seen it guv I seen it!).

Oh and for the record I took 3 rounds off Ryan (over about 5/6 fights and he was using Goh, Lau, Lion...can't recall who else). That means nothing really cos he was miles and miles ahead of me in every round.

I don't see why comments about him were strange at all, you weren't there to see it.

I know I shouldn't be making it into a big "oh oh but he beat Ryan" etc etc type thing as they were all just casual warm up matches (others like Jun and Mark beat him too), just something to think about is that people get better at the game, especially if they have more heads to play like down south. It does sound like I'm making a big deal out of it (when I'm certainly not trying to) but in essence Ryan = Best of UK VF scene more or less (not to mention several other south heads of course) and anyone who can give him a good fight probably won't be beaten that easily.

Oh and AkiraPH...LOL no need to worry about giving help on this thread...besides Ev2 is a pad player, making max damage Akira combos harder than on a stick. 3/4 of our group are Akira players so he gets all the help he needs to know about him. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh and using 2/3 DLC BT > move in a float (especially after yoho!!) is really a waste of damage potential.

Yeah, I can see what KS is saying, I know from experience that Jun is very good., and yeah, getting a round off of Ryan doesn't mean much coz he is still in a totally different league to anyone else is UK, however, to take a round off of Ryan is a big deal to us up here, becuase we don't get much in terms off 'celeb' status players, and we don't really know how well we compare to the rest of the world. I was very happy that I took my one round off of Ryan, however I know that this doesn't mean I am anywhere near his skill level; the guy makes a joke out of everyone else he plays!!!!

Chris, you keep trying to 'big up' Mike, but you did this last time and he amounted to a whole lot of nothing when it came to wins. I am not saying that he can't improve or that he hasn't done so, but your forgetting that I too have most likely improved, (I know that Andy has improved lots since last time you saw him), and if we assume that my skill level and his skill level has increased at the same rate, then I should still be able to beat him quite easily. I know that this may sound big headed, but I have only played the guy once and I whooped him, even after eveyone was 'bigging him up', so it isn't unreasonalbe for me to think I will win. There is nothing wrong with thinking you can beat someone, especially if you have beaten him/her before. Think about it, if some guy who had never played VF in his life challenged you to a fight, you would presume you could beat him, as you would be thinking that your skill level is better than his. It is the same principle, I think that my skill level is higher than Mike's, hence I think I can beat him. I could be wrong, we could play and he could give me the major whooping that I gave him last time, in which case he has proved that he is better than me which is fair enough.
I don't really know why we have turned this into another 'debate', all I said was that he can use the SPoD very well........

Anyway's, I think that Andy will be able to beat him, even if I don't, I think that he will win this next meeting quite easily, his skills are very good. In all honesty I think that he would be able to beat anyone in the country (obviously I haven't seen everyone play, but all of the major names who I have seen play would find it very hard to be Andy at the moment) except Ryan, (and I still think he would give him a run for his money).
I am most interested in how well Dan can play on a stick, because he beat us last time, but he was using multi-buttons, and I think this may have had something to do with it. (don't want to go throught the big arguement that we had about that again....). I think that the stick may have improved him in some areas, and I hope he make it.

Oh, and Chris, you didn't need to be a cock to that guy who was giving me Akira combos, they actually look really good but still easy enough for me to do on a pad. Advice from others is always welcome, so don't be so mean to the guy........

I'm well aware that Jun and Mark are top players. Off the top of my head they're the only others I saw who beat Ryan in the mess arounds (tho I didn't see everything obviously).

I know enough about the south VF scene (from annon south based sources LOL) to know who is good and who is not...that's how I arranged the groups for the 25th.

My point to Shaun was that Ryan is not "invincible at all times" so's to put it, I wasn't saying much about the south VF scene at all.

About the rounds thing, yeah it means absolutely nothing at all since it was just warm ups, I was just pointing stuff out. In fact I even pointed that out didn't I? I said it meant nothing I just mentioned it on a whim so I thought that point was covered man.

My overall point was IRONMIKE IS BETTER NOW, THAN THE LAST TIME EV2 PLAYED HIM (which was a long time ago...yeah Ev2 may have improved but Ironmike is an "unknown factor" now).

To be correct, no, I didn't "big up" Mike at all last time. I'd never even met the guy until the 23rd sept of this year. I'd seen some replays Ade had and thought he looked pretty good but I wasn't hyping him up to be some monster.

Why is it neccessary that you and he improve in equal rates? (I hadn't forgotten the fact you and Andy would have improved as well btw) It's not at all. He has a whole host of peeps to play, you don't. Who do you think would improve faster, the guy with 15/20 odd peeps to play (I'm gues-stimating here) or the guy who plays his brother? Don't you think his rate would be faster than yours?

All in all (and since there have been complaints and PMs), let's just wait till the meet.

Oh btw, <font color="white">read</font> what I said...I wasn't being mean to the guy at all. In essence he's wandered onto a thread which is essentially just a small VF group discussing stuff personally. I mean you don't see Ice 9 or DRE or Creed etc etc posting here with info do you? Besides, I think there's more Akira info on this site than any other char in VF.

Ummm try testing them before you say that, the first is just a flashy one you do for kicks (ok damage but nothing special), need to check weight (plus I was actually using it at the meets from about a year ago). The second is silly as you need to mod a dbpm at the end so if you're going to mod a dbpm at the end why not do yoho > p > stpm > dbpm (another fav of mine) ... in fact whey not even go the whole hog and yoho > p > shrm > dbpm if you wanna finish with dbpm and the third is silly again after getting a yoho in...after a high float like a yoho you wanna rack up the damage. I'm sure Andy would have posted a similar thing had he seen it.

Further more I think you'll find I've helped far many more people on these boards than you with info, I was just pointing out things to him, not being a cock, you cock /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif, in any way shape or form. Did you notice how polite I was too him? I even put in a /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Dan:

Just look at the legs.

In every fight you start in CLOSED excpet vs BRAD. Vs BRAD you start in OPEN.

OPEN = Both backs to screen or both fronts to screen.

CLOSED = One back to screen, one front to screen.

Before unleashing a combo of death, just check your stance (or keep a note of it at all times when you get better) and just keep in mind some stance specific combos will start with the same few moves, it's often the middle/end you modify to take account of stance. Oh and be aware of moves that change your stance and mves that change your opponents stance.

The meet is 11th dec in Manchester yeah, in my room, possibly someone else's as well, have to see.

If you doubt my skills I would be more then happy to demonstrate them to you anytime. I have no problem with playing anyone in VF. Hmmm I'm not sure what your problem is at all.

I think you'll find I'm one of the nicer guys around here, I'm always willing to try and help players who need help. Not sure why you're talking like you know me all of a sudden. I could have been far far more agressive and flamed you, calling you a noob etc but I didn't as I'm not like that.

I didn't say anything negative about your skill level so I've no idea why you brought that up.

btw yoho > 2/3 DLC > BT kick isn't a combo and like I pointed out, Ev2 was saying he couldn't get max damage yoho combos ... ie ones which typically end in, or use modified moves, but then you go and list a combo with a mod dbpm in!

Ta for the reply Chris. I see its all gone mad on this thread as usual. If I did manage to come down, would it be possible to stay the night? Is anyone else planning on doing that? Is you ps2 chipped? If so I could bring down metal gear 3 for some stress releiving between the strains of VF4? Im off to do some work (most likely play Half Life 2) see ya.

Is there anyone else meeting on the Saturday or is this a Sunday only thingamajig? I see people are betting £50, crazy if you ask me /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif If anyones interested I might be tempted to make a £10 bet, anyone? Chris, ill let you know as soon as I know whether Im coming for definate.At the mo still dont know either way as I have a very hectic filming schedule the next few weeks. 51+ hours into GTA:SA know, just killed Ryder, the double crossing weasel.

Just using the Bryant's in VF (when I play it!), hopefully I'll be up to scratch for the meet on the 11th.
