    Re: FF7

Ade, I'm having some trouble encountering Yuffie. I am running around the forests near Fort Condor, but I have fought over 100 enemies and I haven't met her once!
    Am I doind something wrong?

Bloody hell, that's a blast from the past. IF I remember rightly, you have to answer question's correctly in a certain order, think it's just a random thing happening. Check on www.gamefaqs.com and search final fantasy 7. There'll be an answer on there.

    T5!

Yo Ade, Ryan just rang me and asked to help organise the T5 tourney at TC this sunday!

It's mad, gonna have to draw up a knockout table for it, no losers bracket just straight fights!

Gotta get started on it now!

    Re: FF7

Found Yuffie, I decided to equip the Chocobo Lure Materia coz it raises Luck +1, and my next encounter was Yuffie. I guess it just takes a long time!

Any tips on gaining a lot of Gil, coz I keep coming across shops which have good weapons and good Materia, so I end up fighting lots of enemies to gain gil, but it takes so long!

I just left the Gold Saucer, but all I coul do was play for these special coins, not for real gil.

on another note, I HAVE MY RAP!
it looks really cool, and it feels really good. I am about to go and test it out now, so I will let anyone who cares know how I went on. (I am expecting to be very shit with it for the first few months).

    Now the fun REALLY begin's!

Finally you've got it! When you get used to it, you'll wonder how you ever could stand using a pad. It took me about 3 month's to get used to my OLD crappy Ascii stick back in 99.

Oh and Res Ev. 4 PAL is out a day before my birthday on March 18th. Nice birthday present I think! LOL.

Shaun, you finished the first disk on FF7 yet? I forget how good FF7 is!

Re: Now the fun REALLY begin's!

Yeah, the stick is awsome. I find myself playing the game for much longer periods of time now. I started my Jacky file up again (I have decided to play Jacky again, although i was having fun with Sarah, Jacky is a much better character, and he flows much better. he will always be my main character) and am at 2nd Dan, but I still find myself doing the wrong moves most of the time! As for float combos, at the moment I am just doing [6]+[P], [K] after all my floats.
I do find that watching stance, recovering from a stagger, rising from the ground and doing throw escapes are all much easier. (doing stance specific combos with Jacky is very satisfiying, though I seldom try them, as I can't do the commands!!!).
In a few months I am hoping to be able to use the stick the same as I could use a pad, then I will work on improving my game.
I have a problem though (al be it I have oly been using the stick for two days), but I find that using the left hand side of the stick (Backwards from 1P side) is much more dificult than using the right hand side of the stick. does this go away with time, because I have heard people who have been playing for years complaining about the same problem, and this sounds pretty serious to me.

    Any advice?

simple its because your/arms/wrists/hands is more used to inner movment then lateral/outer movment!

just play on 2p side from now on and it should even it out!

ohh and try using a punching bag, working out each arm, and that makes using a joystick fast and forcfully real easy!

getting 250+ on sonic blast man back in the day really helped with those silly neogeo inputs:)

Kinda what Random said, play on 2 player until you get used to it, it is always gonna be weakest side down to anatomy well if your human anyway, took me a good few months to get used to pad to stick transition almost gave up, glad I didn't. ^_^

all i can say is try not to get into those situations if you can avoid it. if ur on 2p side, with vanessa i do a basic throw or [1_][P][G] to switch the geezer back on the other side

Yeah, it seems like avioding the problem won't really work, because you can't always put yourself on the side you want to be on. I guess I will just play on the 2P side for a while, thanks for the advice people.

Sup Shaun, P2 side is preferred in Tekken mainly by Mishima players, most find it easier to wavedash than on the left, mainly cos the backdash motion is the same as wavedash, except in reverse! You'll get used to P2 side eventually.

BTW I won the Manchester Regional Tekken 5 tournie, so I should be seeing you in Trocadero soon! Hope you have FT when I come down, gotta start a Kage n Jacky card! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
