Got up to the Salazaar boss fight on Pro (after the Red Monks in the lift). Thought it would be harder than it was last time I did it.

The hardest part for me (on Pro) so far is the Knights in the castle (when you get the kings grail) and the two wolverine dudes after the novistadors.

Went TC on Sat, got about 25000g with Paul, just 300000g left for the Skyscraper, maybe I'll get it by Christmas LOL.

Started a Heihachi card as well, called his Ring Name 'Lau Chan' LOL. Now all my T5 cards are named after VF characters, sublimanal messages to get people in VF LOL. Paul=Akira, Nina=Sarah, Heihachi=Lau, Bryan=Jacky and Wang=Shun LOL. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Ade do you wanna call round sometime in the week for an evening after work, I really need to play some VF against a human.

Could you make friday at all? Any days good for me I just need a bit of human opposition to properly get back into the game.

Up to the caged wolverine dude on normal again...btw easy is well easy you know, you don't have to do the enture garden section at all!

LOL I brought back the remake to play on my GC too, if I get too stressed with work I'll cane Real Survivor with Chris...that is the true definition of survival horror!

I should be able to make it Friday, I'll keep you posted, although Sat or Sun would be better, cos I go gym after work normally, ALTHOUGH Mike is here this weekend, so maybe me and him could both come round?

Completed Easy as well, it defo skips out certain sections, the hedgemaze you mentioned, the knight section etc, although I'll hopefully have Pro done by the end of this week, then I'm gonna do Real Survivor and 'hopefully' invisible mode as well.

When you've learnt the new system for RE4, you learn how deadly the new knife is (you can hit multiple enemies in one swing of the knife!) and learn to shoot the shins of the bad guys and kick/suplex them to save ammo etc.

Got a homemade POV (Point of View) skank developed as well. Bascially, some baddies only appear if you turn your back to a certain area, then turn around again. So, if you walk backwards at certain areas, THEY WON'T APPEAR!

A Few examples of situations you can do it:

After you've drained the water in the sewers (before the swinging axes). Jump down, turn 180 degrees, and walk backwards. Chamone!

After the wolverine dude in the cage, when you have activated the bridge and climb back up the ladder, walk backwards, and no baddies appear.

I know there's loads more, I'll have to write em down if/when I remember then LOL!

Yeah friday would be cool but it'd be great if you AND Mike would be able to come around as well sometime.

About those skanks, maybe one section you can use it in is before you go into the castle, after you've blown up the car (recall all the villagers "appear" behind you if you walk foward all of a sudden, maybe they wont if you walk backwards).

Yeah, that does work! I remember doing that one myself. Actually, before you do that section (where the card appears that you've gotta shoot). To save ammo, just run forward and the truck runs over them!

Also, if you run back from after the scene where the parasites in the heads first appear (where you shoot the boxes and they float down stream) and back track through the swamp, you get to fight the wolves much earlier than at the hedgemaze).

The hardest parts so far (ON PRO).

The Knights with the Kings Grail.
The Hedgemaze with the wolves.
The two wolverine's after the block tower where you shoot the pieces of wood away).

I'm NOT looking forward to the Regenerators on Pro, they ALL have an extra parasite on there back! Plus there's no body armour on Pro on the PAL version!

Apparently on the PAL version, the exclusive for the Red9 goes up to 6.5! (In the US version it goes to 5.00!). I'll try and confirm this tonight!

The whole section of the regenerators and lab reminded me just of the lab in RE2, one of my fav sections of the game.

The spiky regenerators are worse tho, like later on when you're with bloody Ashley!

The wolves are already in the game by the time you get to the hedge maze anyway tho...when you go to get Ashley out of the church 3 attack you then.

Bloody hell, on normal I swear the ones in the maze took a shit load of damage to kill with a tuned up riot gun. (switched to picking em off with my tmp afterwards).

Yeah, but the wolves at the lake can be 'skanked' by running back to the boat and harpooning them LOL.

Shooting the church bell gets more guys to come out as well (if you need the money!).

I'm gonna see if the Killer 7 kills the Regenerators, it'd be worth every penny!

Leant my mate the PS1 RE1, RE1 Directors Cut and RE2, he can't believe he's never played them before now, he's even considering getting a GC to get the remakes!

I thought you said you could kill the regenerators with the killer 7? Did you read it somewhere or something?

I personally thought that it was worth getting a GC JUST to get the remade RE...and that's why I got one, plus to play all the new REs, especially RE4.

Did you see the first trailers for it years ago? Leon was supposed to be infected by the Progenitor virus and was being chased by a cloud of smoke in an old castle. Looks like they kept quite a few of the original ideas in RE4, tho changed some other things.

It was on a faq on Gamefaqs, I'm nearly at the island, so I'll be able to buy it soon.

Those spike ones are even harder, hate the way they slide towards you, proper sick.

Never seen the old trailer for RE4 a while back, but it's turned out to be ok IMHO!

Rinsed the capacity skank on RE4 as well (you HAVE to on Pro). The merchant fills up you weapon to the new max capacity, so ALWAYS level up the capacity WHEN IN DIRE NEEDS! (ESP. For TMP and Magnum!).

If there's one thing that pisses me off most about gamers, it's those who quote their own opinons as "fact" and say stuff like that Game X is better than Game Y without ever even playing Game Y at all or knowing anything about it!!! /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Robs written off VF as "crap" without knowing anything about it, as well as MGS3 and RE4 it seems, he's trying to say God of War "owns" these other games without actually playing these other games.

I'm betting if Onimusha and Devil May Cry never existed, neither would God of War and both Oni and DMC come from the RE topdog Shinji Mikami...sigh. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Rob's a bit of a dick TBH, God of War LOOKS great, but I never trust a game where the 'skill' is where you whack a button over and over to beat people!

I better get practising some anti Akira stuff for Friday, I've got yours and Mike's to contend with! /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'm not looking forward to the enivatable ST abuse! LOL.

Actually, regenerators die after taking a certain amount of damage using any weapon. (albeit A LOT of damage)

Sucks that UK got this game so late after the american release. I'm sitting here reading all the exciting experiences I went through with the game, heh.

 

PAL RE4

The PAL version has got a lot of skanks removed from the US version /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif. I.E. No body armor on Pro, No extra money when you fight the two el gigantes (leaving the room and going back!), take more damage etc, but at least the PAL version wasn't cut to shreds like the orignal PS1 RE1!

The removal of body armor on Pro setting is your culprit. Leon takes fierce damage from enemies without it and even with it (US verison on Pro) it only helps to a moderate degree.

It's interesting to hear about the other little changes to the game for the PAL version. Did they remove head shots and death by decapitation as well?

Nothing gore wise was removed, all the decapitation's are still in, all the blood, everything, apart from it being a lot harder. I actually heard that the second outfit (the Policeone) has 'built in' body armor, but it doesn't feel like it to me! Although one improvement (I think the ONLY one LOL) is that the Red9 weapon's exclusive goes up to 6.5, instead of 5 on the US version (Apparently). It's like a bloody shotgun now!

At the 'It' boss now, luckily have just got the skank 100 capacity Striker exclusive (100 shotgun shells for 60000g, yes please!).

I heard the German version has been cut to shreds though (No blood, decapitations etc), plus no assignment ada, mercanieries, OR bonus weapons!

Yeah I was aware that regenerators die after 13 shotgun shells (???!!!) but Ade hade mentioned you can decapitate them with head shots to kill them. I did try shooting with conventional weapons first before I found the infra red sight.

Yeah Ade, tbh God of War looks nothing like as spectacular as RE4, got a vid of it on my psw dvd...I like the whole Greek mythology to it but IMHO it appears a cheap rip off from DMC. I haven't played the game, it's just my impression of it.

Well busy with work now, may not post till thur/fri but should see you friday night hopefully.

PS Just got Doom 3 with some trade ins, will post back as to what the (PAL) xbox version is like soon.

LOL Nearly forgot to mention, now have Wesker, Krauser and Hunk unlocked in mercenaries, Wesker's guns are well top! Have almost 4 stars on all maps with Leon but you need to get over 60,000 on a map to get a 5 star rank and you need to do that with everyone on every map to get the handcannon!!!

On my dinner at the moment. I don't see any reason why I can't make the next meeting, as long as it is on a Saturday, as I only get the weekends off. Ade, don't expect too much from my, coz I am still making command errors on my stick(I don't play the game that much now that Andy has gone, I find it hard to motivate myself.
P.s. to anyone who has experience with a laptop, do you find that the typing cursor teleports to random lines if you type to fast?

Shaun, don't worry, Myself and Chris are battling hard against the evil that is T5, I've somehow managed to pull away, it took me a while to realise how SKANK and BROKE that game is (Much more than people think IMHO).

Mike's coming down this weekend as well, so I better get practising some Anti-Akira stuff (I have been for a while now, although I'll still get SPODed/Stumble Tripped like a little bitch all over the place!
