Rayne, sup man, why are you even bothered what these inbreds say? They are like a cross between the Dingles and the family from texas chainsaw massacre. I think the reason they don't have manners and aren't like normal human beings is because (this is only what I heard) They're mum was caught shoplifting dairylee from tesco and they're dad is is in prison for stealing pigs from a farm when they were very young.

If you're going to have petty slanging matches then at least do it for a good reason and not this pointless bullshit..

    Steptoe = IronMike?

If so, don't be such a little bitch. Last time you and Shaun got into a "disagreement" you were trying to be Mr Highandmightymoralhighgroundfightingisforlosers, and now you pull that childish bunch of shit out of nowhere and inflict it on the thread?

I'd also appreciate it if you'd stop dragging me into your little disputes by ragging on our whole family every time you have one of your little temper tantrums.

    Grow the fuck up.

And Kain, stop trying to stir up crap.

Nice job Ade, I hear you got to the final. Can't wait to come back and see how much you've improved (Shaun says it's quite alot.)

Let's try not to act like fools ok guys?

Yea, please stop any bitching before it starts please, Saturday went really well and so I was sure there would be no trouble at all on the thread.

Dan, I really don't know why you thought you could lose the fight tbh, the system we played has been the same system for around a year now (including nearly all the times you've come up to play).

I even said before the fight, first to 3, then final is first to 5 so I don't know why you thought you could lose in a semi final, first to 3 and still get to the final.

Anyways, at the end of the day you still ended up with by far the best win ratio so that's gotta mean something right?

    I'll post results soon.

After a shaky start I somehow managed to get to the final. I still think Dan was the most consistent player of the day, certainly the most dedicated of us all IMHO.

I've got the bug back for VF know, forgot how much I love Kage and Sarah!

BTW Mye IS in China (my text was returned undelivered), think he'll have his FT Wolf and Lau cards. But none of us are jealous? Are we? /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Guys, yeah was a good meet. Chris-I hadnt losed in a semis match before and to be honest I just wasnt thinking, the matches seemed a lot more relaxed than usual and I thought it didnt matter what happened cos I would be playing Shaun and Kain again in the semis. Oh arse , it doesnt work like that and that means I can only get 3rd place-damnit. But sod it, like you said I had the best win ratio and it was good fun. I just didnt want to be goaded by anyone cos of what happened. Cheers for letting me stay the night Chris, hopefully we can get back on subject and chat about VF.

    My two cents.....

Dan, fair enough, if you thought it didn't that you lost (can't see why you would think this, but...) then I can understand why you might not have played at full strength, however, that is just an excuse. the fact remains that Ade beat you (well done btw, you're getting much better) and you got knocked out. That's all there is to it. you still beat me in the only fight we had, but I won the tournament. whatever people want to take from this is up to them. In my opinion, you we better than me on the day, but making up excuses is a little lame, no matter how 'valid' they may seem. just accept you lost the tournament, the same way I accept that you bested me. No malice here, we are all friends here hopefully, great day.
Whichever cock called us a bunch of inbreeds needs to grow up. No one asked for your input, you wern't involved and you are not needed.....at all.
just go away and get back to you superior level of living, with all the high-class thoroughbred folk, and leave us 'inbreeds' alone.

Chris, well done, getting slowly better, keep at it.

Kain, nice going. managed to beat me in the league, shame you couldn't follow through.

Ade, again much improvement. you are a dedicated player and I have much respect for you.....

New guy, not bad for a newbee, decent basics.

    Dan:

Yeah it was a good laugh and a good meet, that's what I think is best to take out of the day. I mean the fights of me vs you must have been about 40-12 to you or something and in the league your win ratio was 15-4 (then 16-7 including the semi) so don't sweat it about anything.

    Shaun:

You're coming on well with your stick, I'm sure in a little while longer you'll feel more comfortable with some stepping moves / crouch dashes etc. I'm suprised I didn't get white washed by anyone apart from Dan in the leagues I've been out the game so long (at least a month and a half, two months) but it's all good. I'm back into now and using Akira and Aoi solely.

Oh Andy, if you're reading I passed on my copy of SF:Ex plus alpha to Shaun. LOL we were playing quite a bit of it in the afternoon after the league.

I'll post results tomorrow or something and add my impressions n that about all the players.

Shaun: Your decent with your RAP. In a few months (when you find diagonals /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif), I'm certain you'll be back to battering us to death without even trying LOL.

Kain: Nice one for beating me in the groups, gonna have to train against Lei Fei I think from now on.

Dan: EVIL EVIL Lion. Hate Lion SO much, all those lows are too much. Nice play, defo the most dedicated to VF.

Chris: Nice Akira as always. I HATE STUMPLE TRIP! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Scott: DITTO! I HATE LION! (Lost to him as well in the groups!).

Overall, the session proved to me how much I like VF and has thankfully given me the urge for it again. Now' where's FT on console?

I hoped the meeting might revive my interest in the game, and while it has, I am much too into my FFX game at the moment to even give VF a second thought. I guess the fact that the AI system is so boring to play has something to do with it......

I personally NEVER EVER play the AI computer. Only ever use Free Training or Challenge mode.

RE4 is good, but I know eventually I'll be back to good old VF for days on end, save for maybe doing Real Survival and Invisible on Hard on the RE1 Remake (Chris!).

Damn you all, respect the AI!

It really only sucks if you take advantage of it's flaws IMO.

Ade who did you use in the tourny?

Thanks for the game Chris, is the disc in good condition? (I ask because my ps2 is very picky).

I used Sarah for everyone expect Kage (against Chris) and Shaun in the Finals.

The AI isn't that bad TBH, just prefer 'freestylin' in practice.

Chris is doing a result's page soon I think.

Yeah, the AI is better than most games, but still sucks comapred to a human, though I did have a bash at the game last night.
The disc is in decent condition, I will send it to you if you decide you ain't coming back.
Ade, I think that you should use both Kage and Sarah.you are very agressive with Sarah, and can mount an offense for a long period of time, without giving up the advantage. Your Kage is different from most other people's, you tend not to use his moves for the properties they have, but seem to wait your turn and play quite orthodox with him, which is strange because he doesn't really have many othodox moves, most of them are really slow but have evading or sabaki'ing properties, as opposed to sarah who has few moves like this, most of hers are direct hits which are fast ond powerful, but in return do not have many properties and are quite counterable in comparison to Kage. I think you are more suited to Sarah, though your approach to Kage is different to most, so it makes a refreshing change to play him.

Re: Saturday, 16th April, 2005, Results and discussion

I am going to stick with Kage and Sarah I think.

My Kage is very 'flowchart' based, with very few 'tricks'. Although I don't think it mean's my Kage is crap, although the word 'limited' springs to mind LOL. I'm slowly working the Jumonji moves into my game, and am studying wall combos as we speak (with Kage AND Sarah).

Sarah, by her very nature, is 'easier' to use than the majority of other character's in the game. The thing is, you have to be very good at hit checking with Sarah, as she has different combos whether a move hit's/CHs or is guarded.

I think as long as I stick to those two, I'll improve. (IE NO JACKY OR LAU! LOL).

    Andy:

Yeah the disc and box are in good condition, if you have trouble with psone games on PS2, standing it on it's side as it loads will get the game started fine I find. Then once the game has loaded you can put your ps2 down flat again.

As for AI I don't really mind playing it actually, it's better than playing nothing...and I do have close to 10,000 fights overall from my combined Akira files (2 separate system files)...so I guess that shows how much I don't mind playing the AI! LOL

Off the top of my head, here's the results (forgot my results page again):

    LEAGUE RESULTS

    1. Rayne (Lion)
    2. Kain (Lei Fei)
    3. Ev2 (Jacky)
    4. SlimAdey (Sarah, Kage)
    5. Kaworu (Lion)
    6. LM_Akira (Akira, Aoi)

    SEMI FINALS

    Rayne v SlimAdey 1-3 (Lion v Sarah)

    Kain v Ev2 0-3 (?? not sure tbh) (Lei Fei v Jacky)

    3th - 4th PLACE FIGHT

Kain v Rayne 0-3 (Lei fei v Lion)

    FINAL

    Ev2 v SlimAdey 5-1 (Jacky v Kage...? I think)

    So finally we had...

    1. Ev2
    2. SlimAdey
    3. Rayne
    4. Kain
    5. Kaworu
    6. LM_Akira

Oh and just randomnly whilst I remember, Sarah's P+K from Flamingo is definately a SABAKI and not an INASHI. I knew it was but couldn't recall why on sat but now I remember:

A Sabaki parries/deflects an attack. There are 2 classes of sabakis; sabaki attack and sabaki reversal. Things like Sarah's P+K from flamingo and akiras b+P+K+G are SABAKI REVERSALS since they do no damage.

An INASHI is a thing that deflects/parries and attackl doing little or no damage BUT leaves the opponent in a staggered state eg Aoi and Pai are the only chars to have true INASHIS (Pai's do actually do a little damage but in the past they didn't...the name for them has just stuck).

So Sarah's P+K from Flamingo is a sabaki reversal and not an inashi because the opponent isn't staggered after the move, they fall backwards in a special animation.

Anyways, looking ahead to other meets I can't say anything definate atm I'm afraid, I'll have to see how my work goes from now on.

It was 5-1 to Shaun Jacky V Kage, on the Island Stage in the Final. Although Some of those fight's were final round thriller's, but I still lost 5-1. Better get practising for next time!

Sarah's P+K Sabaki is really good, started to abuse the hell outta it. Her b+p+k is really good as well (Juggles crouchers!).

Ah, ok Chris, thanks for the clarification.
As for meetings, I am more than able to host meetings here, I have two T.V.s so if someone brought a PS2 then we could have two set-ups. there is plenty of room and I have 4 perfect tables to rest the sticks on!
i'm in Darwen, so It wouldn't be a problem for you to get here, and I can even put people up for the night, I have two single beds and plenty of floor space. you can get return tickets from Victoria station to Darwen station for £5 ON THE TRAIN, so if you buy them in advance you will pick them up cheaper. I can do this any weekend that people want, just let me know who is interested in travelling......

TexasLion doesn't actually live in Texas anymore, doh! I pmed him when I first got here and he informed me of the lovely non-existant Vf scene here.

My wife's got family in socal though so I might try getting some games with those guys whenever we visit.

Oh and against Sarah just pick Kage and whore jumonji P+K+G kthnx /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Kage players who abuse J.PKG will get 270 thrown or d+k hit thrown.

Sarah's a teef, but Kage is still better!
