I don't really use Jeff much, though I mess with him now and again. I am liking Sarah more and more, and I play her more than I do Jacky, though Jacky is still my strongest character, assuming the person I am fighting understands the properties of the flamingo, otherwise I can just whore the standard flow charts all day...

Hey fellas.

Not posted for a while, had the life drained out of me at work. Good news is that I'm back to Manchester in 2 and a half weeks...I have one more week of work and then a weeks sit off and am back the following thursday (15th sept).

Ade, we'll have to have an old skool VF/sf/RE/Tekken all nighter at mine on the Friday night (unless I'm out with the new peeps I'm living with or something, have to see) anways we'll sort something out.

No official VF meets are planned atm Dan (and everyone else) but I'll get down to things once I'm back.

Still cant believe how quick the summer has gone. One minute I'm doing my last exam, next I'm packing to leave for Manchester for good! At times somethings have been painfully slow but now the summer's been and gone!

Going to see Staind in the Academy on 22nd too, can't wait for that.

Hey Chris, didnt realise you were a Staind boy. I saw you on that program, Ade texted me to tell me to watch it. Did you get my text about it Chris? Are you doing another year at uni? I thought you were done for good. Is this your masters? There are some good games coming out soon, have you heard about Fahrenheit? It looks ace, and Okami on the ps2 looks fecking awesome. I think all us geeks are gonna love it. Noone hear plays pc games do you? F.E.A.R. looks the absolute shizzle. Anyway, gotta enjoy my bank holiday, I'm off.

Hey Dan.

Yeah I'm well into Staind but havent been listening to them for a while...only got back into them a month ago after getting their new album Chapter V and hearing they were playing Manchester Academy.

Yeah I got your text about the prog, soz I didnt reply had no credit then.

I'm doing 3 more years at Uni!

I've already done 4 and have a masters in Theoretical Physics but come sept I'm starting my PhD...which is basically 3 years of research and development into a new area of Nuclear Physics.

I'm being paid £12,000 a year by Manchester Uni, plus I'm classed as part time staff as I'll be taking math tutorials for early year uni students. Plus I have my own office!

At the end of it I have to write a paper on it and if I pass I get the title Dr!

Steev's a PC head, I'm a Ps2, GC and xbox head lol.

Thinking of preordering an xbox 360 atm...

Nice one man, you should stay in education as long as you can. It is easier, and if you pass this course it will be cool, coz you will be a Dr. and you will be able to start work on around £30,000 - £40,000, and quickly that will rise. Plus, I can get you to come round to my place and introduce you to my friends as a Dr. with a masters degree in Nuclear Physics!

On an unrelated note, if you, or Ade, or anyone else wants to have a VF meeting, I can always host, and there is space for people to sleep too.

And yeah tbh, I think it's best to stay in education until you see fit yourself to leave (or as long as you can last it)...I mean, what, say you retire at 60, you die at 75, you have about 40 years of your life to work yet some people are desparate to go out and get "proper" jobs at the ages of 15 or something...IMHO (and within reason) I think people are best just slowing things down and taking it easy, not being in a mad rush to start working.

There's plenty of years ahead of people to work for after they've gotten a decent education. When you get to my age you realise you should have made the most of being young.

Having said all that I think after my PhD I really do need to get settled into a full time job straight away, I'll be around 25 and I'll be fed up of the education system by then and be wanting to make the big leap to what ever's new for me.

I'll defo be up for some VF soon, hardly toched the game at all in the past month but I'm going to sit down and make myself get back into it.

From what I understand, Ade is busy with a lady friend right now, I'll let him fill everyone in on the details whenever he posts again lol.

Just realised why your avatar is Robbie Coltrane, you're a dead ringer come to think of it. Chris-good luck thats some serious course you'll be taking. I just scraped it with uni and i'm sure i wouldnt be able to do any more education, I'm friggin 24 now anyway. It's all paid off in the end now cos I've got the job I've wanted to do for 5 years now. have been playing with Akira again, hes a fun character to play as againts the computer but my tactics are still fairly limited compared to top Akira players. Ade- good to see you've picked a girl for her warm personality-something like that... Cant wait till VF5 on the xbox360 then we can play online without having to meet up every year.

Phew, just got back from my last day of temp work! Can't belive I've been there a month n a half. Well good laugh tho and good money so can't complain.

I now have a week n a half sit off/packing to do then I'm back to my "second" spiritual home of Manchester.

Cheers Dan, it'll be tough doing a PhD but I'm fired up now after a summer of no-physics, want to get back and stuck into research.

A meeting

I'm well up for a meeting, I am deeply into Sarah at the moment, so I could do with speaking to you (Ade) and learning some stuff anyway. I really want to get back into the game, coz then I can improve on my stick some more.

Ade, you and I have to have a RAP V RAP/ Sarah V Sarah/ Jacky V Jacky match up....

Yes, I too am really back into the game atm, for some bizarre reason I put on Quest mode last night (having not touched Akira for about a month) and all my commands were almost perfect. Normally it takes me about a week to get used to them again.

As I actually havn't seen the place I'm living in yet I can't say too much about what sort of venue it'll be for future manchester meets but as soon as I have a chance to, I'll be on the case and hopefully have one set up for either early Oct or possibly before then maybe.

Oh yeah, Ramsey's back in MC!!! Spoke to him online the other day, he's back soon for a whole year and I got his mobile number back...hell, it's just good to have decent numbers playing, regardless of how good people are. So a possible future meet could involve...

Hi Guys,

Played A SHITLOAD of VFon my week off, using loads of Akira, have box step almost down to a T. SPOD is now almost as natural as Mike's! (THIS IS NOT A LIE).

Although I'm still much better with Kage/Sarah/Jacky.

Shaun, I'll try and put some ideas for Sarah together for you, I've not practised properly with her for a while, although I'm sure it'll all come back in a bit.

Not heard from Mye in over 6 months unforetunately. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif But we can drag Scott along and get Tekken 5 out of his veins (I've not played it at home for a month, I'm so proud!).

TBH I do quite like T5...even tho it's as broken as a china tea set after an elephant sat on it, it's good for a laugh and FNALLY wavedashing has started to click properly from the p2 side...p1 side is very slow but I can get up to about 3 cds a second when I'm in the zone on p2...i'm not going to try and abuse it tho, after watching some djin vids on zaibatsu I'm mainly trying to learn to do a few wds into SS or backdash etc and getting those cancels out. Mainly using Kaz, djin, Feng and Julia as usual, should be a laugh.

I'm back THIS thursday night so will try to sort something out. May try to mess about with Aoi a bit but I'm really concentrating on Akira.

Can't believe it's almost a year to the day of the failed/succesful UMSD ver2.0 manc/leeds tourney.

LOL I've been playing evo for 3 consecutive summers now...SEGA. we need a new PAL game of VF asap!!!!!

btw T5 on pal is a pain when setting up, you have to change to 60hz via an in game menu...but you also have the choice of soft or sharp picture quality. I can't really tell the difference between the 50/60hz in the game tho! (bizarre, it's so noticable in VF).

Forgot to saw 'The Business' on Sat, produced by Rockstar, so fucking Vice City it hurts, but highly recommended if you like the GTA games, 'I ran so far away LOL'.

Agreed about Evo Chris, top game, but we need VF5 so bad.

Not played the home version of T5 yet, but heard the pal version is the same as the us and jap, although a few combos have delays and things like that.

Anyway, hope T5R balances the game and makes it much more balanced (I doubt it, I have a feeling Mishimas will be top tier like in tag).

 

Friday Suggestions

IF your still busy Chris, then we can postpone til next friday or whenever your free.

A few suggestions.

1. We can Start a new File on RE4 on hard. However, only use the first set of weapons (pistol, shottie, etc) and no rocket launcher's allowed.

2. Invisible mode on hard on RE1 Remake walkthrough.

3. RE1 Rocket Launcher Time attack.

4. RE3 Knife and Pistol Attack.

5. An Akira/Akira first to ten on Sarah's Evo Stage (I just love that stage at the moment!).

6. Watch Day of the Dead again (blatant!).

7. SH4 on hard walkrthrough.

8. Sh2 on hard pistol walkthrough.

Any other suggestions? (Any character specific first to ten's welcomed).

Just heard from Will, him and a guy called Street (Lion player) wanna come down whenever your hosting next Chris, so let me know and I pass the info on.

Haha yeah they all sound like good suggestions.

Just hope my mum manages to get some petrol soon...my dads in hospital after just having an operation and so is obviously unable to give me a lift back to manc in his mini bus so I ahve to wait till around 6 at night after mum's finished work till she can give me a lift (with all my stuff) to me new place.

If she can't get any petrol soon and can't give me a lift, I'll need to get the train to manc with a couple of bags, register in my new building, get the train home and hopefully try and get a lift off someone who has petrol in their car and space for all my stuff...it could end up being a nightmare.

I should be settled by Friday night tho no worries so I'm defo up for some stella/RE/VF/film marathon.
