Ok, the RGB came in the post today but I'm at work. Shaun reckons he's plugged it in and it's still in black and white. Has he done something wrong or what? Anyone?

Ah, this happened with my scart cable on Darius's tv. That lead probably won't be compatable with your tv.

if the tv has more than one scart socket, try al of them. A lot of tv's only have one rgb enabled socket and the rest are plain euro scart.

Ah ha! A ray of hope has emerged.

It's actually my VCR that the ps2 gets plugged into but I'll mess around with all that when I get home if I can't get it in colour through the VCR.

well as long as the scart on ur tv is RGB, hav u checked ur settings on the ps2???
is the out put set to RGB or componant???
it sounds like ur is still only getting composite (the yellow video lead)
also not many VHS player can loop throu RGB, so its not worth trying!

we have to use the stupid VCR coz the T.V. doesnt have a button that puts it on av1, and we have no remote. ill get andy to mess around with the settings (i will only mess it up)

Most RGB SCART cables will switch the TV automatically just like a VCR does - you given it a go? Mine switches on its own.

yeah, but that doesnt work. the actual quality of the picture improves, but there is still no colour, any ideas?
p.s. what with the three little holes on the thing in the middle of the lead?

Hmm craziness it seems. Sorry though theres no chance of another meet till April now as I'm going home this friday.

To clear things up the cable I use was a Game made one. Its got a big 21 pin gold plated connector that goes in the back of my telly. Theres a switch on the part that plugs into the PS2 to switch between "Game - DVD" as if you try playing DVDs with the "Game" switch on you'll get a lovely Matrix green tint to everything. Theres also two other leads Red and White for audio stuff too but I wouldn't worry about them too much. To me, it sounds like you're cable is definately different to mine. The three holes you talk about are coloured Yellow, White and Red right? You can plug these into an adaptor and stick it into the port on the back of your telly as opposed to using the three small ports on the front. Hope that made sense /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Yeah at least it'll give peeps a chance to practice...incidently started using Jeff and hes fucking sick! Damage potential with him is insane. Hopefully I'll be able to give Shaun some decent mirror matches when we have the next meet.

only if pin 12 (i think) is wired
hell some even switch to wide screen as well!!!

anyways, unless you VCR is a swish panasonic one, it will not loop thru RGB
an there is no such thing as Black an White RGB, so it looks like ur still getting composite or svideo...

    get it right otis

i mean is it that hard???

youve got the net, you can look up your tv modle number an see online if its RGB, or even mail the makers...

damn, u would think you was making a RGB lead when the ps2 1st came out...

    Sigh.....

Anyone know how to get a TV onto AV1 without the remote control? (Turning the PS2 on doesn't do it.)
