Always keep two memory card's, I'm gonna buy a new one this weekend I think, I HATE it when it happen's to me every 2nd week.

Some of the matches from Ryan's American vsit are up now, shame I can't D/L any at work /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif But I guess I have a job, so can't complain! Can't wait for Bo Selecta 3! Chamone! Bumble Squat!

Chris, what have you found out? i'm always up for tips, coz it seems to me that the big guy is nowhere near as good as wolf, or indeed any other character.

A 'proper' knee in my eye's a F+K knee that juggle's on ordinary hit, although Akira's knee qualifies as a 'proper' knee, but has a different motion. You see, a LOT more character's had a knee b4 Evo, Iguess they had to leave Jeff with decent juggle starter.

Michelle is a proper slut/slag/ho take your pick, did you notice her putting shower gel on her tit's for Stuart to rub in? He must be buzzin her tit's off.

Dan and Vanessa are blatantly trying to be the mum and dad of the house. I hope it's Ahmed and Michelle in the Bedsit, that would make great TV. Jay will eventually get a little something from Vanessa eventually, but she seem's a little scared of the consequences (unlike the other girl's).

Anyway, on VF, I never realised the usefulness of K,G for Akira against techrolling opponent's. Let's see:

BB this year could be the best yet as long as stuff like last nights shenanigans continue...actually about that part in the shower I actually felt like I really shouldn't have been watching it...it was like those ghouls that hang round after theres been a car crash or something. Have you notice though how Victor is CONSTANTLY picking up on things or hanging round when stu and michelle are together? All the time hes there. Dya reckon he wants a menage a trois with them? (ohh err /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif).

As for Vanessa, shes very conservative but thats not necessarily a bad thing...though Dr Evil is starting to annoy me with his hair (or lack of it) and especially his "I'm higher than anyone else" kinda attitude.


As for Oki play, Akiras ++ can be useful if you make the last hit MC (its well hard at first as it has to be timed just as the opp rises with an attack) then you can combo with or the good old DJK since it causes a gut collapse.

can also be a killer tech to use against TRs. In fact I just saved a replay where I trapped a Jacky near the wall and took his life bar down with a couple of > DBCs into the wall.

Dan is annoying, I want him out! Not just becasue he's a faggot, but he's BORING, he does NOTHING! Even Ahmed is more entertaining than him (with his plate smashing way's).

K-G is really good because you CAN'T crouch dash cancel a SUCCESSFUL evade (which K-G will make an evade) which gives you the opportunity to mixup attack. (Remember you CAN crouch cancel an UNSUCCESSFUL evade). BTW I didn't 'discover' this myself, it's from the excellent HIro system memorandum.

Haha yeah I printed out all Hiros stuff ages ago. I'm currently sorting out all my VF folders of stuff, getting items/champions and then hopefully I'll be getting on with pure Akira/Aoi/Pai and WW Guile stuff till the next meet.

I knew all about cancel CDing an unsuccesful evade as its involved in the Konjou step and also Minami step to some extent.

Also is great against mid rising attacks since P > DLC is guaranteed vs everyone afterwards actually so is for the same damage and of course the staple for a bit less.

Dans voice is getting on my tits a little, hes just like a guy I used to live with in 1st year. And whats with him always wearing his hood up like some dodgy rapist hanging round a darkened liverpool alley way? lol

I'm really bored here at work, I wanna play some VF and quickly! Just read UK-Guy's Kage guide (fro VF4) and he think Kage is mid-tier? Ok, he's certainly not as skank as say Jacky/Lau/Sarah, but mid tier, IMO he's certainly harder to use than those three, but it feel's a lot more rewarding to win with Kage PLUS I seem to get a lot more win's with him than Jacky so /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yeah its back from the Vf 4 days in re-charred-sighs guide. Plus theres DJK to crush low rising attacks. Oh and the Konjou thing I told you about where you do

+ > delay down attack > crush rising attack with knee or shrm (plus it'll score an MC when done right)

Top Tier = Akira, Lau, Kage, Jacky

at least thats what I think thoughtI've heard some say Sarah is top tier. I don't think theres any "official" tier system though I'm not sure, a lot just make up their own minds about things. I think Goh is a solid mid tier and Shun is low tier but other than that I've no idea where I'd put all the other chars.

Its like the way I get easy wins with Goh as opposed to fighting hard for wins with Akira. I think me and you both are "levelling" off on a plane and we need to get our mains up to the "next" level to start getting good win ratios. If you watch the replays I have from the very first meet in sept, you'll see we've actually improved my miles since then but we're still missing out on getting to that higher echelon of VF excellence with Kage and Akira. One day we'll get there I reckon, one day...

 

Tiers

I'm glad VF isn't cursed with hardcore tier's ala tekken. I'm hoping Kage and Akira in particular aren't raped too much for FT, but your right, me and you still have a LONG way to go before we're 'high level player's'. But now we've settled with our main's (and STICKING TO THEM LIKE GLUE) we WILL get better, I'm sure of it.

Yeah I think we're certainly past the "competant" tier atm and heading for the "better than average" tier but reaching the "good vs anyone" tier is gonna be hella hard work. I think it helps that we've kept our mains as Akira n Kage for the past 9 months or so too as theres still loads I'm learning about each char and they're popular all over the place.

as for the tier stuff, i thought it would be pretty obvious that Akira IS THE BEST! then Kage follows and the nLau and Jacky. as Akira and Kage are harder to use then everyone by quite a bit, it is only to be expected that they are the best, and it is probably why they are used more than everyone else.....

Jeff is now on Gladiator I think and shaping up to be a mean mofo. Also started to rank up Lion too. Man, Lion kicks ass! I now see why Chibita uses him. Never really liked his style beofre but now I'm playing him hes really fun to use.

See the BB task Ade? Poor Shell stung her cheeks...might have to break in there and take care of her myself /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Speaking of out in the garden, manged to slash my arms to pieces today when trimming all our hedges. Any more gardening for me atm and it'll be a no no to VF for a while so I'm taking it easy for now.

Oh yeah really gonna try hard to get Lions skateboard soon too, who knows by next meet he could be my second char...

Sheesh yeah...

I was sat watching it with my dad on the big tv downstairs. I though england were gonna lose before kick off n my dad though france would lose since all the players play each other to death in the premiership...

Got to 85 mins or so and me and dad were both convinced france were never gonna break thru...

My 2 lil sisters walk in the room to see the score on 90 mins or so...then everything goes tits up and we're 2-1 down WTF???

Its at times like these only Mr Artois can save you...unfourtunately we didn't have any in nor cash. Still, Shells nakedness made up for it a bit.

Planning to have Lion ranked up to tier 2 by the end of the day. Think I'll get everyone to Warrior who isn't already then slowly get them all up at the same time. Heres to a long VF playing summer!

 

VF

strictly talking VF, i am a little concered about andy. it is obvious that Akira and Kage are the best characters coz their moves are so much harder to do (i realise that inputs are not an issue for input-gods like you Chris), and andy seems to like using them. the thing is, because they are really good, when it comes to playing with characters who are not as good, like Goh, he is really crap, because he is used to being able to just rely on the characters moves, and is required to use more gaming skill, rather than input skill. what i want to know is, do you think that he should stick to the two better characters, or do you think he should train with Goh more, because they both have advantages.

Akira/Kage:
better moves list
top tier
more help available for these two than for Goh.

Goh:
more powerful (discluding huge float combos)
less people use him, so people will have less practice on how to defend against him.
brings a totally different fight to the game, as he is all about counter attacks, wheras Akira/Kage are full on blitz players (Kage not so much)

it seems like Akira and Kage are a better choise for winning as much as you can, but Goh has the advantage of being new and unused by serious players. (I know that a load of half ass players use him, but they try to go on the offensive too much, andy seems to play him really well)

what do you think.
also, a quick question about the mechanics of the game.
i have notice that when my low punch is blocked, the opponent can score a low punch of their own if i try attacking, but if my low punch is blocked and then i use Akiras/Gohs shoulder ram or Kages huge Knee, then i land the hit, even though the rule states that if a low punch is blocked and then an attack is tried, the opponents low punch will counter hit. i realise that all of the moves i said are 'from crouch', i it could just be a property of of this class of move, but i have tried it with Jackys rising uppercut, and Jeffrys rising uppercut, and neither of them work. whats the deal?
