The other Lau file is 6th Dan but he looks ok if I ever wanna use him.

The way I see it, I'll still have 'just' a Champion Jacky and Lau, so it's all good!

Becki has admitted she fancies Jay, apparently she's Bi, it'd be cool to see a threeway with her Michelle and Stuart, Chamone! Cool about the Tiger for Lau. Whaaaaaaah!

Ok, I will let Andy know about the file. Chris, are you any closer to getting my Jacky/Jeffry files up to champion, with all the gear?

Onny, when you say 'down here', do you me London? because I heard that there is some great Lau players in London.
maybe someone could start a thread up to investigate.........

As for Becki, she has nice tits but thats cos they're fake...she seems a fairly nice girl mind, only that shes going waaaay over the top when she talks to people. Jay, Marco and Nadia are up this week!

As for the system file Ade you now have Champion Jacky and Lau, Andy has Champion Kage in all his set up, Shaun you have Gladiator Jeff and 6th Dan Jacky or something with almost all the right items and colours you wanted.

 

Lau players

Shaun, I think Onny meant players that use ONLY Lau, or Lau as their 'numbero uno'. I've gotta admit it takes a lot of determination to do that (i.e. to cut through the 'boredom' factor and dedicate to Mr. Chan). I'm gonna make a serious effort to raise my Lau to the level of my Jacky, I'm not bad with him, after all (well, I can do his mod juggles, although, to be fair, their not THAT hard!). This is probably why so few people use him and move on to a 'harder to use' character after a while, something I'm trying to push against. Whaaaaaaaaah!

 

System File

For the record, I just gave Andy my Goh file (at Slayer atm) and now Will can have Andys old one, meaning he finally has a Goh file with us!

I think Das will get the Champion Lion file, as long as hes still using him!

Andys Akira file is at Warrior atm but I may take it to Champion too as Akira-Akira fights that have Akiras all dressed up crazy always look proper bo /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

yeah i meant guys who use lau as their "competition" character, as it were. some folks know him a bit, but nobody seems to use him especially seriously here in sunny london. most other characters are fairly well represented.. by this i mean that for every character there is at least one intermediate-level player who uses them as their main.

and just as a little side-note, our top 4 players (in my opinion) use kage, wolf, jeff (yes jeff), and jacky. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lau

I've gotta admit, I've really got into Lau over the past few day's, he has really good flow chart's and definetley feel's different to other character's I have used previously , due to his 'all out attack' style, I will miss sabaki's and reversal's! /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif) The damage he can take off in one combo is really evil, but my main concerm is predictictablity, I'm gonna have to study his frame data and stance specific combo's. Whaaaaah!

as for Wolf, Andy uses him a bit, and i find that, unless one can do triple/quad throw escape, he is very hard to defend against, because his strike damage is comparable to Jeffs, but is throw game is rediculous, so you cannot risk any throw counterable moves, and when forced into a high jab/low jab/throw guessing game, you just cannot afford to guard.

Shaun, I've pretty much took your advice and have started to train with Lau properly (I've just reprinted out his frame data cos I lost the last lot I had of his!) and I find him an aggressive demon, although a lot of character's can really take it to him (Jacky and Akira spring to mind!) , still, when you have a full circular low and a half circular low, as well as the ability to take 70 point's of damage, for an average combo! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif it doesn't feel half as bad! That's not to mention his very good throw game (RE: I didn't say AMAZING, but certainly good enough!). Time to make the skank, SKANKIER! Chamone!

 

Lau

Lau certainly is one bad ass mofo, straight outta Compton ya'll! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Some basic stuff to learn with Lau is his stpm combos:

> > + open

> closed (think this is right)

> closed

Honestly the last one is sick to time. You need to delay the second canned punch but the timing is different for every character. Heavies like Jeff and Wolf are easier than lighter characters. You know when you get it right as you bounce their ass along the ground all the way through the combo!

After MC crumbles (+ or evade > ++ for example) works well...actually that works well in 90% of his combos.

You need to be able to mod pretty well too as thats a good combo ender.

Abuse his double palm when given the chance as thats a beatdown like his stpm and use and for more craziness.

Also is a good flow to use and mix up as is > > etc...

Don't forget to mod his + throw too!

As for Wolf, I was ranking up Andys file the other day and he is one sick momma. Truly ridiculous in the right hands I reckon. (BK__ anyone?)

Hmm the radio had it wrong yesterday that Jay was up its Michelle. Funny that she went and blamed everyone for voting for her when it was actually little miss vixen Becki lol.

 

Lau

+ with Lau doesn't launch in Final Tuned! /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif And his 2_3 P,P has to MC Double /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif, but he will still be a bad gangsta and probably still the 'Teef' of VF:FT.

I find for , ,+, it help's to hold , so it would look like this:

+, ,+,, but you don't half to though!

That +, , ,, in closed is REAL hard, but I'm gonna master it SPECIFICALLY for Shaun's Jeff! MWahahahahahaha!

Haha yeah tell me about it. I've nailed stpm > PPPK vs Jeff...in fact I've a replay where I did it 3 times in a match against him but against others it's seriously awkard to get consistent. Hakushon Lau nails it vs loads of chars!

I'm glad it's easy to time against Jeff than other characters, he deserves to half energy draining juggles on him, instead of him being able to duck/tech certain moves in juggles, cue, maniac laughter! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess Lau is an infamous 'high risk, high reward' character with his Aggressive style owning the hell outta his defensive side.

Chris, who are you working on for Champion status at the moment?

 

Champions

atm I've got Aoi, Goh, Lei at Destroyer, Lion and Sarah at Warrior, Akira and Jeff at Gladiator, Jacky at 4th Dan, Brad and Vane at 5th Dan and Wolf and Shun at 1st Dan.

I'm going to get everyone to Destroyer all at once then rank up everyone at the same time.

I'm currently focusing on Akira (for the third time!), Lion, Jacky and Jeff.

I'm all over Lau like a rash, after studying his frame data last night, I have seperated the wheat from the chaff in relation to his good/bad moves and found tiger stance is quite limited, but there are still some useful moves and setup's for it. I can see why he's being raped in FT, he has LOADS of juggle starter's and can break the 70 point barrier with relative ease. If feel's strange using an aggresive character, I'll be honest, I'm missing sabaki's, but I guess that's the price for high damage juggles. Whaaaaaaaaaaah!

LOL Yeah at least I get to keep my input level up whilst levelling up Andys file as I haven't really used my own for a while now, after trying to rank up all the files. SPoDs still only like 20% but DLC is more like 80% consistent now.

Oh can't believe I forgot this but ahmed had the best line ever the other day in the house: " it is like, how they say in liverpool, "sound" " that had me in fucking stiches for ages.

The one thing I didn't like about Lau was no sabakis/reversals/inashis but lets face it, he's not really built for them is he? Hes built for one thing. DESTRUCTION!

Damn Right! Lau is one bad ass invincible high damage juggling motherfucker.

If Lau had reversal's/sabaki's/inashi's he would definetley be overpowered, I mean, SERIOUSLY overpowered, he has 4 throw direction PLUS Neutral P+G! Although he has enough - frame disadvantage moves on guard /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif But, there's always the magic low jab to abuse! Say Aaah! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
