(btw, when i was calling Jeff shit, just because i play him, doesn't mean i think he is any good. i was very suprised that people in London would even think of using him as their main...)

btw, you talk about mastering all these Jeff specific combos, but i aint gonna let you land them, i will continue to bully the shit out of you with my super powered moves!

Chris, i am going to PM you with a few questions, coz i have recently developed a thirst for backstaggers, so i will be needing you to share your infinite wisdom with me.

the player i fear most uses jeff. fear in a gaming sense, of course. one wrong guess or one mistake and you're properly fucked. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Going to London

Shaun: I'm still learning Lau, but hope to have his 'game' down in the not too distant future. Jeff is one character I don't mind playing as Lau, cos of no reversal's/sabaki's etc, I better get him good enough!

Lau is a demon for back stagger combo's, I find it relatively easy to clear 130 point's of total damage from a Lau backstagger combo.

Onny: All being well, I should be coming to London on the 13th July for some VF/TAG play. I might have to practice some Chang's for Tag, elbow city!

me and Andy (Elite) would be more than willing to go down to London when i have the cash. the thing is, we would need a place to stay, and although IronMike has offered, i don't know how close he is to the rest of you, so when i go down and play him and his clan, i could maybe come and play you guys afterwards, or you could come to the meeting with Mike and crew, if he says it is ok.

I've kinda settled for Lau over Jacky, I've really took to 'old skool'ness and it's strange how it's turned me from my old 'turtling' self into a very aggressive player. I've gotta feeling I'm gonna get sabaki'd/reversed like a little bitch against certain player's, but that's what you get for using Lau. Whaah!

I've seen him play and after talking to Delune about him I don't think anyone up here would come close to touching him. Jeff and Wolf both have some sick damage potential, especially if you guess wrong with the old TEs.

Oh Shaun forgot to mention Jacky also has + (charge) as a set up to a backstagger combo. That is, if the charged move hits as it'll cause a gut collapse in the way you want.

I was going over some of the vf4 ones and he could get up to 174 or so back then, only problem is now, all the ones I try seem to end up leaving the opponent too far away to capitalise with a combo.

Maybe Ade could share some Jacky backstaggers?

strangely enough he doesn't throw that much.. he just utilises jeff's moves so well! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif after playing him, my head tends to hurt because of all the mixups hahaha. it's an... experience! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

 

The sign of a good player

Always the sign of a good player, making your head hurt! Jeff for me will alway's be a demon, I'm not looking forward to the improved jeff in final tuned, that's for sure! Air throw and push throw's etc, it's gonna hurt.

My Jacky backstagger's combo's.

These are some of my back stagger's combo's for Jacky in VF4 Evo. These are simplier/modified version's of the one's from the Techroll guide in Junky's Jungle.(Assuming P1 side)

SS +, +, slight delay, Opponent tech roll's. +, Dash forward +, +

A Nice simple back stagger that work's on anyone.

,,+ (Max charge), +, Opponent tech rolls', +, dash forward , +

I 'think' this should work on everyone, and I think on lighter character's you could get a standing/low jab or alternative hit's after the +, but i've yet to test character specific backstagger combo's (It's what I gonna learn in the not too distant future).

I do have more, but I'll post more another time, maybe even dazzle you with some Lau backstagger's (Ooh, Nasty! /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

Well, Marcos gone and Ahmed is going crazy. Jay and Victor will get a frosty reception when they come out.

atm Andys Akira is Protector but its dressed just as he wants him. He also has Kage on Champion and I'm working on Wolf. I may just leave Shun at Warrior I don't know.

Incidentally, Shaun could your younger brother start making the meets? Ade said he met up with one of his old tekken mates the other day and that'd he'd come along to watch (play?).

Pinking, Lead etc if you're reading this can you let us know if you know anyone else who could make it to the meets here? We really need to try and boost our numbers.

On the last week of this month (July!) I had originally planned to go on a clubbing holiday with my mates, but, as luck would have it, the've pulled out, leaving me with a free week (I'm off work from 23rd July after 5 till 31st July) so, I was wondering if :

Will:Can I get lift off around the dates 23th-28th July down to London? I'm asking now cos I can buy an advance train ticket if I can't so it's cheaper (as opposed to £50, which I wanna avoid paying!)

AND:

MIKE: Can I stay at your place in London for the few days/week in London.. I'm fine with crashing on the floor. I know you've got uni, but I'll hibernate in Trocadero/Casino while your otherwise engaged.

If both of you could ring my mobile or home number (which I'll pm to both of you!) and let me know ASAP. Time for some hardcore gaming.

BTW I have realised that I could go to EVO2K, but don't wanna travel all that way on my todd, there's still bound to be more than enough Tag/Evo addict's to get battered by, anyway!

 

Random gaming achievements

Sounds like the Edinburgh meet went ok.

Ugghh riped through res evil zero the other day in 5 hrs 40 mins...40 mins over geting the submachine gun which was a little annoying. Played though Leech hunter again (already have smg bullets, inf handguns and inf hunting gun) and now I have the special revolver magnum (90 leeches) but only played a bit I haven't found any more ammo to go with it.

Leech hunter is ridiculous though...the idea is to kill everything (and unlock 2 locked doors) then go around collecting things. By the time you've got 40 each you can only have one item slot spare...thing is when you get to 90 leeches overall, monsters start to appear in places where you'd killed them! Getting 100 leeches gets you inf ammo for everything but its so hard. Hoping to just try and get smg and rocket launcher (do game in under 3 hrs).

Andys Akira is now Champion (my third time!) so I think I'll work on Shauns Jeff, Andys Wolf and Shauns Jacky...may just leave him at Warrior though we'll have to see.

Can't believe Greece won LOL.

Oh Ade if you didn't know I think Shaun came first up north, Andy came second and Faded came third. Ohhh Matron!

Yeah, I expected Shaun to win, he was defenetley on form when I played him at Mike's.

My Lau seem's to improved ten fold over the weekend, well, that's what studying his frame data does (or any character's for that matter!).

I seem to have stuck to my word about dropping Kage, What's a TFT? /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. However evil you think Lau is, he's defenetley a 'skank' character and I feel proud to bring out the cheese. I now how no morales and will skank, skank, skank, /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Lau4Life!

btw check out the new psw dvd if you can.
SH4 the room trailer looks amazing. Honestly, it's looking proper sick. Plus theres MGS3 and that looks incredible (appears as though you're playing as Big Boss and meet Revolver Ocelot plus a few more chars I don't know).

Looks like Driver 3s a bit of a let down but Tekken 5 looks decent for a laugh. 3 new chars and from what I've seen ones a rip off of Aoi and one has a similar direct style to Akira. Plus destructable areas and slick graphics!

Nakura: That's VERY funny, you should be a comedian! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif No seriously! I've never liked the driver series. It's all about GTA: San Andreas in October.

Tekken 5 is shaping up to look a bit VFesque, but as to be honest, there it's gonna have to be extra special to beat Tekken Tag, but I hope it's good, it's the only other fighting game series that last longer than a week in my PS2 (other than Evo!). So come Namco, do you best!

I loved the first one though I found it too hard. Never played the second one and the adverts for the third are tempting me but I am well aware that it is a pile of arse. San Andreas all the way.
