    Tsukami

Ok, once you're garbbed by Goh and held into Tsukami, one good option is to do a 360 motion twice. You can only struggle each direction twice so 2 times 360 can sometimes be good.

Should have pointed out that Goh can only drag in [8], [2], [4], [6] directions and he can drag once and throw or drag twice (riskier) and throw.

I'll ignore writing down commands as it's too confusing to think about when you're thinking of p1 and p2 sides.

    Example:

I'm Goh, you're Jacky, I grab you and hold you into Tsukami. I'm on p1 side, you;re p2 side.

I pull you to the left of the screen.

You need to struggle in the direction of right of the screen.

To struggle [2], [6] for example you would need to do [8], [4] which is where the mind games come in.

Diagonals don't mean anything in Tsukami.

There are a total of 20 outcomes from Tsukami, ignoring the push away and someone struggling out of it:

    360?

Hmm, I like the 'skank' 360 motion, that sound's right up my alley (where it is very dark and only cheap tactix ixist!)

BTW I've copy and pasted your Goh combo search into word for study tonight!

    Wahay!

Welcome to the thread Mye, this is basically the main place in which we discuss and organise things. Other players who we player are:

    Darius (lion)
    Elite (Kage, Akira, Goh, Wolf)
    Eliteversion2(Jacky, Jeff)
    Lead(Goh)

Are you mainly a Wolf player then? Do you use any others? Also, do you play with a pad or a stick?

Cool, wanna meet this Friday (After 5) or anytime Sunday? (I normally go on the piss round town on Saturday night!) but I'll be ready for some VF on Sunday. Where do you live? I live bout 10 mins from the Trafford Centre, but if you wanna go to your's, that's cool (Cos it's a bitch getting a bus to/from my house on a Sunday, cos I live in a 'one bus every hour' place!).

    FT Akira

Woah! Juts seen some FT footage of Akira.

    DE still looks the same.
    [1][6][P]+[G] has a new animation.
dbpm actually DOES look quite a bit more counterable
[4][2][P]+[G] > sgpm > dbpm is still there
SPoD is still in one piece
    [6][P] looks a bit different
    shrm looks slightly more counterable
    [4][6][P] > [P] > [2_][4][6][P] is still around

    So far so good.

Shit, probably me just being slow but SDE on MC doesn't crumble any more! It knocks down like DE MC does in evo!!!

I live in Urmston. Nearby Curson Cinema(10 mins from Trafford Centre) . I THINK I can use Brad, Aoi, Lau as well. I'm a stick user ( Dick user as well). Sunday will be great at anytime.
By the way, what is the meaning of "stick live"?
Namco' game show? Where is it?

    Re: Mye!

I can pop down to yours or we can play VF at my homes . There are two little boys from my colleague at my home. You can come if you don't mind. But I got 1 VF stick only. And also, my disc and my safe card are all Japanese. They are not compatible to yours.

    Re: Mye!

Me and Ade are both stick users too, I use a Sc2 one, Ade uses a Namco one. The two Elite brothers are pad users.

As for the game, Ade actually has a chipped ps2 and a copy of the japanese game as well as the PAL one.

When we play we always use a system file I've set up on a PAL system though.

Ade: Seen as though Wolf is a secondary char for you, can Mye have your Wolf file?

What a coincedence! Do you wanna play tonight? Cos I'm ready for some Vfing! YEAH! Let me know, or we can arrange when you want! Ring me ASAP!

EDIT: Chris, yeah cool, give Mye my file.

Shaun, just for one second, will you stop being so uptight about people not thinking you are good. You are a good pad player of VF. You can quote this back to me whenever you like. You do not need to continue to tell/infer people are crap as they don't beat you often. Learn some humility and it'll go a long way. You seem paranoid at the slightest mention of you not being considered as a good player. Let it go.

I already made the point that a tourney first round would be NOTHING like the shit you posted there.

    [ QUOTE ]
    TOURNAMENT

Side note: The last tourney we did I had to organise with guess work...ie I had no idea how stronger all players were. I sorted Andy and Shaun to opposite groups, as with me and Ade, Das and Will etc...ie I tried to organise players of the same level equally to either side so that none of the "favourites" were knocked out early etc. This I failed in as I didn't count on DeLune coming and wiping the floor with us and I some peeps I was meeting for the first time.

If we went back in time and did it again it would have been better to have some sort of qualifying/seeding type matches to sort out who plays who but there was simply no time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When I said either side I meant either side of the tourney table.

Why on earth would I play ade in the first round when I play him all the time?

Why one earth would I pit two of the better fighters against one another in the first round (like you and Tsuujin)????

    Answer: I wouldn't.

Another thing is that I don't know anyone who compares losers in tourneys. No one would say oh X beat Y and Z beat V therefore Z is better than Y. That's just bullshit as people compare "who beat who" not "oh he got to the second round therefore he must be better than all those who lost in the first" that's just ludicrous!

    [ QUOTE ]
anyways, i personally would prefer a league with everyone in it, because i don't mind how many matches will need to be played, nor how long it will take, just that i will get to play everyone

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is quite a selfish attitude. Time is always important. Trains may be quick and easy for you to get to and from Leeds but think of those who've travelled further, for longer. Last time some were just getting into Manchester at 12/1 whilst some had been there since 9 in the morning. Many had specific trains to catch at a specific time (eg DeLune, Rayne...).

What's better, the mini league into knock out thing plus casual/warm up matches or playing a fuck off league and running out of time as people have to get to public transport and go home, meaning all those they didn't play are fucked and a winner may not even be decided upon.

To me the first idea sounds far better as long as we have a number of players divisible by 4.

The scottish guys have made it quite clear (seems to me) that they don't want to waste their time with us. By asking them I'd just be flogging a dead horse.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Chris, do you have anger issues? you should really learn to calm down and stop getting so irritated by everything, jeez........
i only used you as an example (you understand this right?), it could have quite easily have been Darius and Will,Andy and Steve etc.

also, about me being selfish, if you look carefully at the sentence, i said "i personally", meaning that this is what i would like, i am not saying that this is what should happen, or that i won't participate if i don't get my own way, i was just letting YOU know what i would like, so that YOU can make up YOUR own mind.

also, i have no problem with people not thinking i am good, in my opinion i am not THAT good, and i think that alot of people over-rate me. (Iron_Mike thinks i could beat Ryan Hart, i mean, no way would that happen).
you have to realise that i haven't played anyone that is really good, so i am obviously going to be quite cocky, so about the whole humility thing, why should i ACT like i am going to lose to people that i know i will beat? in my opinion, this is just patronising them.
if/when someone beats me (WITHOUT SHOULDER BUTTONS), i will be more than willing to bow down to them, (which is why i try and big LiMeng and Faded up, coz they are the best people who i have played!), but untill then, am i not entitled to be big-headed?

the main thing we need to be focusing on here is, IS FINAL TUNED COMING OUT ON THE PS2?
the reason i ask is, i want to play as Lau, but i am going to wait until final tuned comes out, so that i don't have to deal with all the changes, but if it isn't coming out on ps2, the i will pick him up now........
    any info people?

p.s. Chris, have you asked anyone to come to the meeting yet?????

    Where is SlimAdey?
I've been in this country for 17 months only. I was so upset there is nowhere to play VF in Manchester.
It's a good game, isn't it? Many people play this game in Hong Kong. Not only blokes. Remember when I was in Japan. VF everywhere. It's the most famous fighting game. And I saw a Japanese chick who played Pai very well. I could not play but watch 'cos of challengers everywhere. It impressed me so much and it never happens in here. But since I have found this "VFDC", I am so happy that there are so many VF player in UK.

    Re: Vf Party List

The only thing that annoyed me about the tourney part is that I'd stated things wouldn't take place like they you suggested they could in your example.

I mean I could post up the tourney list from last time to show you exactly how matches panned out...if DeLune hadn't had been able to make it things could have been very different and Andy, for example, may have gone right to the final....though I have publically stated that the tourney matches weren't 100% evenly matches games as I had no idea about strengths.

Going back in time I would have put you and Andy and LiMeng and Faded on opposite corners of the tourney fights so that the only way you'd fight one another would be in the semis/finals.

I don't know if you're aware of this but on a recent thread, Shou opened up a can of worms when talking about the American VF scene. It was all about how good players are etc...If you are a good player, then IMHO there should be no need to boast about it, you should just let your playing do the talking.

For example, juts consider Myke, the admin here. he's a proven good player (check out the clips of him vs Ohsu on the blowout thread, a year old no less) and he's done well in past decent sized tourneys. Does he boast? No, I've never seen him boast once. Does he tell people they are crap or would ge beaten by other players? No, I've never seen him say anything like that at all.

The whole "selfish" thing, yeah I realise you were just saying what you'd prefer to do and I'm with you all the way on this as I wanna play everyone as much as possible it's just that we have to think about everyone else before we can decide. That said, if we have 3 set ups, things could be done quite quickly and would allow players to have plenty of casual matches too, I'll have to crunch some average numbers.

As for FT, lets keep in mind the history of VF:

VF 4 came out in the Japan Arcade waaay before home consoles.

Then it came out in Japan.

    Then finally over here.

When most people were getting into VF 4 here, Vf4 evo was being worked on in Japan.

I sat and watched countless matches of evo for around 7/8 months on here, before it came out over here.

FT fotage is only just being put on the internet now. The likely hood of it coming to ps2 over here before sept looks very unlikely.

As for the invites I sne tout about 20 pms/emails yesterday and I've had a few replies back. A few maybes and a one or two nos but nothing else so far.

Mye, Ade is in work now so I doubt he'll be able to answer his phone. His landline number will probably be his house number but since he's at work there may not be anyone there.

    Re: Vf Party List

Chris, what is the current state of funal tuned at the moment? (is it out in the arcades yet?)

i guess we will have to just wait and see how many people turn up before we make anything definate, there is no point in making one league if we have 300 people, and there is no point in making groups if we only get 5, so i guess we will just have to wait and see.
you could work out how many matches would be played if we had one huge league where everyone plays everyone else onces with 20 people, and you could see how many matches would be played with two groups/four groups/six groups/eight groups etc, and maybe we could decided then.

as always, if you need any help, just ask, i will do what i can.

    Re: Vf Party List

Well, from what I can tell FT is certainly out in an arcade somewhere in Japan as I've just watched Minami Akira and a few other players on another thread.

The offer of help is appreciated, we'll just have to see how things go for the next few weeks and see how many people reply to me and let me know if they are interested in coming to Manchester.
