Also in evo, theres a small point after a char uses TR that DFS is unavoidable (non-evadeable) and will knock them out of the TR.

Plus like in Hiros memo,

Akira is Too Much!

I sometimes wish I had the dedication for Akira (or even the ability to do some of his moves consistently!), but I guess Sarah and Kage has alway's been my best (that's when I do stick to them!). Actually thinking about that, from my 6 month Lau/Jacky journey, juggles/flowchart's for them have stuck in my mind a bit, so I guess it's all swing's and roundabout's in the end, as I can use more character's now (even if it is in a /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif). 'halfassed' kinda way! Drop Flamingo, Drop TFT, what was I thinking? /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif

EDIT: Chris, give my Jacky file to Shaun, I'm fine with my girl Sarah! (BTW I probably use Jacky only on a 'once in a blue moon' basis, as I will with Lau).

Presuming the meets are still at weekends, I shouldn't have a problem coming up the motorway. I thinks. Can even supply a PS2/TV if there is a big meet, probably.

I'll leave the setups as they are atm so Shaun has the Warrior Jacky as he'd dressed the way he wanted (and randomly I have a feeling your Jacky file doesn't have some of the items Shaun wanted anyway).

Any word from Mye recently too? Obviously he hasn't been posting but have you played him recently Ade? looks like we might have to sort an odd meet out on a sunday so that he'd be able to make it.

 

Mini Team Battles?

Been thinking at the next meet we could have (in the warm up's, for fun!) some mini team battles. Hell, we could even give them cool names to make it fun! (Doing my best to sound American, and failing miserably! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif). I'll give an example below:

SlimAdey (Kage)/LM_Akira (Akira)/Iron Mike (Akira)
Team Eternal Struggle /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif (Yes, it's meant to be ironic!)

VS

Elite (Kage)/EliteV2 (Jacky)/Rayne (Lion)
Team Rugrats /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not too sure how it would work (Maybe winner stay's on?)
BTW This is one example, their are loads more team's we could make up, but the names of the team's are meant in jest, so, let's not start flaming each other like were American, heh?

Mye's working this weekend, so can't play him! /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Loving my old skool Kage/Sarah combination at the moment and am SLOWLY learning ARE, full of skanky goodness! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Learnt some new Kage stuff recently, hopefully some of it will be useful! As I said previously, I will still dabble with Lau/Jacky, the stuff I've learnt with them has somehow stuck in my head (AMAZING! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif).

Haha yeah, I'm up for some mini team battles too, that'd be proper bo I tell thee.

Good news though, just got a pm from pinking (Akira, Vanessa from what I saw) and he and maz (Lion) can make it on the 25th.

That makes about 7/8 peeps so far who are pretty much certain.

As for battles we could do it like the clips from a-cho (I think).

You have an order for each team, 1, 2, 3 and first match is 1 v 1. Who ever wins stays on and the next member of the team of the player who lost comes on...eg (this is TOTALLY theoretial btw and for example only!)

1.Me 1. Andy
2. Ade 2.Dan
3. Mike 3. Shaun

Me vs Andy I lose
Ade v Andy Ade wins
Ade v Dan Ade wins
Ade v Shaun Shaun wins
Mike v Shaun Shaun wins ... therefore Team Rugrats win!

etc...though it is possible for the 1 person to beat the whole other team and none of his team get to play. Still it'd be a laugh.

Good to hear Pikking and Maz can make it, I don't think I played Pinking last time! This time I will show my true colours! HAHAHAHA! (Laughing like Bison!).

Last time Pinking used Akira and Kage if I remember correctly, so now he uses Vanessa? Cool, something new if it's true!

Chris, are we having a one character tournie? Or is that if it's only a big tournie?

Can we can use two if it's just a small one?

Better get practising, my mouth is almost watering at the prospect of a tournie, however small/large!

No vanessa isn't new for pinking, I saw him using her last time in the casual matches. Didn't know he used Kage as well though.

I think, looking at the numbers of peeps I wanna get involved, it'll definately be a one char tourney, after all that's how they are over in America and Japan right? Well, I think so anyway but yeah 1 char tourney is what I'd like.

Besides we can all play one anothers other chars in the casual matches. Look at the vids of Ohsu and co from last year. His Brad, Goh, Jacky and Sarah were evil yet he was (obviously) using his Akira in the proper tourney, coming second to Chibita's Lion.

Man how I hate Lion.

I guess I've always liked to hedge my bet's and like Sarah and Kage equally as main's, I'm gonna have to decide and quick! AAAAAAAAARGH! I guess I'll use who I feel more confident with on the day!

Will we have tables to lean on? To me it feel's better than having them on your knee, but it could be costly/time consuming, so guess we'd have to do without!

As for tables I'm not too sure as I don't think there are enough there to use.

I don't want players sat on the couches though, they were too low down IMHO so I'd sit two chairs next to one another at each set up. It'd be worse than playing on a table but better than being sat at a couch.

Plus you could taunt the person sat next to you between rounds!!!

As usual, I think one player only for the "big" tourney as it'd stop players from choosing a char who they know others struggle against (eg Ade picking lau to fight Das!).

one character sounds good to me.

i have noticed a problem that is now, uncorrectable unless chris initialises his whole game! if you look, although a file is mine, chris will still have had the most fights with him, plus, the file might not have been originally mine, and other people will have probably used the files, so the win ratios are very unaccurate.

I know a small change in percentage of win loss stuff is hard to take...maybe you could call a helpline to help through this dark hour?

Why not call the VF-WinRatio hotline, they're open 24-7 around the clock, designed solely for those axieties and worries that win ratios can produce.

They'll be plenty of lovely people to talk through down the phone and they'll ease away the pain induced by win ratios.

Besides no one really gives shit about ratios when we play. We all know who the stronger opponents are and what type of win ratio they have.

Plus we have all the records of all the leagues and meets. They are all exact.

Just for the record, (again!) NO ONE USED YOUR JACKY OR JEFF FILE BEFORE YOU (and before those stats I quoted). I never even played a Jeff player before you (and certainly never used a Jeff file since I set it up solely for these meets) and Ram certainly didn't use the file. He chose it once by mistake but I told him to go straight back to char select and this does not count for any matches.

He used Ades one once last time by mistake (and fought with it once) but that's all.

Yeah, only your Goh, Wolf and Shun files were brand new for you. However, your new win ratios are:

Akira: 84.4%
Goh: 82.0%
Kage: 79.3 %

and your Wolf and Shun files are around 80% too.

btw did Shaun tell you you have Kage, Goh and Akira at Champion ranks?

I PERSONALLY (I.E. Other people are allowed their own opinion's) don't care about my % ratio or item's, it's not like it matter's (we're not in Japan for Christ sake!): On a side note Mye doesn't give a rat's ass about even having a file and loves playing Vf purely for the fun of it and it kinda makes sense if you think aoubt it, cos before VF4, people still loved VF cos of the game itself and not 'Oh he has 70% win rate' or 'He has a pair or Sunglasses', but loved the challenge, it seem's to me like we've grown accomstiomed (I know I've spelt that wrong!) and need to eradicate from our gameplay and fast!

As Chris said, we all KNOW Andy and Shaun are better than the rest of us, I just RESPECT Chris for going to the trouble of organising these meet's, it get's the few VF player's in the North of the UK Together, cos we are fighting a losing battle to Tekken/Soul Calibur Poo (I admit I will be Tekken 5 when it comes out, although, I am looking forward to FT MUCH more!). BTW I do think it is kinda cool to have a champion rank tho! (Although not essential! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)

Buy the way, bumped into Mye last night and he can defo make it for the Sept 25th. I'll be playing him this Sunday, so I can test some of my Sarah dryness against him then. Right, in all honesty, if Shaun feels some inbred desire and desperate need to boast about himself or whatever then fine, that doesn't bother me too much.

What does bother me is when he comes out with sweeping generalisations of "oh I don't respect you, cos you don't beat me often, you aren't competition for me" etc type comments. He may sometimes brush these off in an a jokey way but everyone knows he's serious about it.

Shaun, if you could get a bigger group of "better" players than us, in a better venue, better organised and with an immaculate system file of fights go ahead and be my guest.

It's a thankless task.

Ade, if you want any help with ARE or anything wiht Kge, maybe you could pm DeLune and he could help? He offered me any help if I needed it.

I'm getting on with the task at hand at the moment (mastering the game system) and I'm hoping I can get back to my 'glory days' of getting the odd win off decent player's, but, DAMN! I've gotta practice hard.
