    Re: Back to VF

Just thought I'd mention Jenny's in Manchester has VF4, I'm not too sure how the setup is for the buttons or the condition of the stick's, but /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif it's about time! Chamone!

Oh and Devil-Jin and Heihachi's dad Jinpatchi is in Tekken 5 (but Jinpatchi isn't a playable character apparently!). Open the fridge, smell the cheese! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    EDIT:

Below is the presently unconfirmed time-release character list for Tekken 5 which is copy and pasted from Zaibatsu: (Can't believe there's no Ogres! A curse upon you Namco! /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif Guess I'll switch to Devil Jin, check out my skanky self! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

    01: Bear (Not specified)
    02: Heihachi Mishima
    03: Mokujin
    04: Roger Jr.
    05: Anna Williams
06: Wang (translated as Won, but most likely a typo)
    07: Ganryu
    08: Baek Doo San
    09: Devil Jin
    10: Bruce Irvin
11: Jinpachi Mishima (unlikely to be selectable)
12: Eddy Gordo (likely to be a Christie palette swap)

Taking away Jinpachi and Eddy this would be perfect for another bar of 10 selection boxes on the character select screen.

    EDIT (2ND)

Talk about addict: (Don't go to this site if you wanna play GTA:SA yourself and don't to know stuff about the game. ADDICT!

    VF4 in Manchester

Ade I'm going to check out VF tomorrow morning in Jennys. I won't be able to make Friday afternoon though.

About the stick, I can tell you straight up it'd be around £75 or so (was last time) but I really can't get one just yet for several reasons:

    1. I need to set up another online account (which is a pain as it'd need a new email address, then there's this silly process of checking money etc)as I've lost my login details for the site (pay pal I think). I tried logging in and got the details wrong 3 times in a row and I then got sent an email about someone trying to access my account (it was fucking me!! d-oh!).

    2. I'd need to be at my place 24-7 upon week of delivery because I'd need to sign for and pay the UPS man.

    3. I want to get one myself but (as you may have seen from the other thread /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) I'm strapped for cash. It'd make more sense to order 2 at a time rather than one by itself then another one by itself.

I'll definately look into getting another one in the new year tho.

I though you didn't even have enough money to live, yet the reasons you can't get a new stick include nothing of financial trouble, other than being simply 'strapped for cash'. I think thie big tirade you have been on at the 30th thread conveys more than 'strapped for cash'.

    Ahh Shaun.

This is a reply to a PM ade sent me.

He's getting money out of the bank today and giving it to me to order him one over the internet.

Do you need your reading glasses there or something?

    PS You are fucking blind:

    LOL honestly /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Ah clever edit...

If you read the previous 2 pages or so you'll see more talk of me having no money. Go on, read and enjoy.

The /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif face was a reference to the fact I somehow now need to give you all details of my finances.

I think I'll need to either add it to my christmas wish list and hope someone doesn't mind importing or save up a load of money and buy it in a few months time

Notice I said few months...like...hang on a minute..like Januaray sometime!!! But of course! That's when I get the next instalment of my loan! It all makes sense now!

MY LOAN = LOTS OF £££££££

    SC2 STICK = A BIT OF £££

WITH THE £££££££ I GET FROM MY LOAN (AND SAVINGS IF THERE ARE ANY ) I CAN GET A NEW STICK.

    111!!!elevenoneoneoneeleven111111!!!!

    It all makes sense now!

    Robin, to the Batmobile!

Anyone with a gun, please do us all a favour and shoot this mofo of a thread in the head. I'd be happy to pay you but... /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Baby I got your money!

I'm getting the stick in my avatar. It's a hori, I've heard it's a kick ass stick, it's meant to better a SC2 and a namco, but I guess I'm throwing caution to the mind. I STILL wouldn't mind getting hold of a Namco or a SC2 if you can find one (I'll still buy one of you!). The layout is very arcade style and it's meant to be good for diagonal's cos it's (apparently) a great stick for Akira /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.

    The magical stick of destiny

    Hey again Ade.

Yeah from what I've heard (Faded, Maximum and a few others) the new Hori Pro Arcade stick is one sweet mofo. Supposed to be massive tho!

I'll c u tonight Ade at my place and I'll give you a receit for whatever money you give me and I'll be sure to keep hold of all printed bills.

I'll need to pay the money into my account tomorrow, register my card with my new Pay Pal account, then pass a safety test, THEN I can finally order your stick, wait for the money to clear (which will be really quick) and shift the funds around using my Pay Pal account.

Think it ships in about a week or two from Play Asia but good things come to those who wait! /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

bear in mind you'll get shafted in customs charges if it's play-asia you're ordering the stick from, which will add a good £20-£25 to the total price.

From what I remember about Ryan's (Faded) that stick is about double the size of all the others I've seen. I does look really nice though and everyone who had a go on it thought it was good (me included, but then again I know nothing about sticks /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif).

Ade and Chris, are you guys playing Tekken more than VF now then or something? If so, I've gotta ask why? I used to be big into Tag but whenever I play it nowadays (which is about once a month if that) I just find myself comparing it to VF and thinking how much it sucks. What do you guys like about it? It seems alot more basic and easy to me. Spacing seems way too important (because spacing isn't hard) and you can just block everything because throws are so shitty so there's no threat.

Not taking the piss or anything, just interested in why you like it after playing VF seriously for so long.

Re: The magical stick of destiny

Well, I've been playing Tekken seriously (well before I discovered Evo) since 1998 on Tekken 3, although Evo cut short my at the time okish Tag skills, although before Tekken 3, I rinsed the hell outta VF3, so getting back into it isn't that bad. There is also a Tag machine in Jenny's (VF4 was off last night /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif) with decent competition (When people can be arsed showing up that is!

I still play Mye on a weekly basis (and as of last night) I can play at Chris's again!

Oh, and don't worry, I'm expecting to get up the ass with an extra 25 quid charge. The way I see it, what's the point of spending 60ish quid on a stick for a SC2 stick when I can get a killer stick for approx. 90. OK, it's a lot more money, but it'll be worth it in the end. good thing's come to those who wait.

The Fellowship of VF is reunited

Truth be told, I'm actually playing Hyper SF2 more than anything these days (as Ade will no doubt verify with my extreme skanks and CE Guile/WW Blanka dizzy fuck ups). After playing Jericho, Random, Akairyu etc on the 25th I was determined to get better at the game. I mean I can easily spend 2 hours sat messing around in training.

As for Tag I only got it recently...and more importantly got hold of an accelerator disc which means I can play the pal version at 60hz, not sure if you've played it at 60 before but playing at 50 is awful.

I got into it properly after seeing a guy called Umer play it vs Ade in the arcade a few weeks ago (and after watching some vids on Zaibatsu). I know "technically" it doesn'treally compare with VF...I mean look at the defensive techs you can use in VF compared to Tekken:

    TEs
    E-TEs
    TE-Gs
    E-TE-Gs
    ARE
    VIP
    ECD
    Box stepping ( [4][4] > evade > [3][3] btw if anyone didn't know)

    etc etc...

I mean to break/avoid a throw in Tekken you generally only need to press 1 button.

Some things you can compare directly eg Minami stepping and Wavedashing, Hit-throws/Akiras sgpm-de etc with Just Frame moves, float starters needing a counter etc...and others, imo of course, VF does far better than Tekken.

But Tekken does have the tag feature (obviously!) which adds depth to the game with your tag team variations/ combos almost being endless. It can be very "string" based ie PPPP type stuff in VF but I don't think this de-values it, it teaches you how to guard and watch your opponent closer.

I'd say Tag is "more basic" than VF as I'm pretty sure everyone gamer in the world knows someone who can play Tekken, yet few will know someone who plays VF, say.

imo VF is a much more demanding game than Tag but I still enjoy playing it. SC2 is even less demanding (but can be just as technical) and I like messing around on that too, tho not half as much as VF and SF2.

More important than all this is the fact I'm now allowed mates back around here. In a completely bizarre turn around, I asked Sue if I was allowed some mates back around to visit me (she had said she'd be checking the cctv for faces and there'd be proper trouble if she saw any return) and she goes "Oh yeah of course, a few is fine I just don't want 3000 again that's all" so, although we can't use the big room anymore, we can still have meets in my room (we might be able to use my gfriends/mates rooms as well if we had 2 set ups on the go, not sure about how many we could fit in my room.

So things are on the up.

I also spoke to Das last night too so know I have his number we can organise things a little better.

Ade, just about to sort out this stick stuff now but I should see you friday right?

You and mye can come round sundays too now if you can make it. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

LOL, your HSF skills are skanky as hell (as well as picking Akuma /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif) you skanky mofo. It's all about Ken anyways, Turbo Ken rules (although I love every version of him TBH).

I'll come round on friday till about 8.30, cos it'll take me time to get home that late from town (the bus depart's from Piccadilly at 9.15, and it's once an hour, so don't wanna miss it!).

Do you reckon the stick will be ordered by Friday? Or earlier or later? It's ok if it is, just wanna know!

Skank those dizzies all the way chamone.

Fridays cool, Das would make it but only till 6 he said and as I finish uni at 5 I said not to worry, we'll try to arrange something another time.

Touch wood I'd say the stick could be ordered by Friday. Touch wood! I'll keep you informed.

    EDIT

Ok Ade, here's the deal. Just registered my account with PayPal and they're now going to add 2 small deposits into my account over the next 3-5 days or something. I find out what they are (just get a mini statement) and "type" them into my online account and then I can start to shift your £70 from my bank into my PayPal account and order your stick. Pay attention, wake up at the back there!

Chamone, I love it when a plan comes together.
