I just ordered a nintendo ds and mario64 yesterday, so im very low on funds, i only just heard about the ds yesterday, I've been out of the games loop too long /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Altogether the SC2 stick and SF Pad comes to 70 quid (approx.). The Real Arcade Hori Pro isn't in stock and I wouldn't get it for about 3 weeks (maybe even longer) but the thing is it's apparently really heavy, so would be charged loads for delivery by UPS, not to mention how big the RAP is, and the price (95-100 JUST for the stick) , so I 'opted' for the more compact and lighter SC2 stick instead. There is a Hori 2 in stock, but IMO it look's cheap and nasty compared to the SC2 stick.

The Ken pad look's the dogs bollock's and has six buttons on the face of pad (it's a bit like the IMO sick saturn pad) which is great for SF IMO. You can also get the Pad in 'Ryu', 'Akuma' and 'Chun-Li' editions.

I didn't realise the new Nintendo handheld will play Mario 64!!!! I might get one myself now, is Ocarina of time coming out, I can feel the rush of buying the N64 version in the shops now all over again! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

£90 from liksang, release date the 21st in USA, 5th dec in JPN, 2005 for europe - but its region free and all GBA accessories are compatible - so i can just use my gba sp charger /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

also OMFG MGS3 just shipped /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif should get it in a few days!

4got about MGS3. I'm assuming it's the US version your getting? I hope MGS isn't like 2, I PERSONALLY thought it didn't compare to 1, I got a bit bored of sending every baddie to sleep, got a bit repetitive IMO.

MGS2 rocked just as much ass as the first one. the first-person view mode kicked ass, and the story was just as interestiing as the 1st. (except Raiden, he was a real lady).

Mike, you are deffinately welcome to come up. Do you want to put £50 on a 1st to 10 like you wanted to the first time. I couldn't afford it this time, but Andy will be able to as he has tones of cash. (well, he can spare £50, anyways)

I am hoping to make the meeting, the only funding problems I will have will be the ticket to Blackburn I need. Anyone know how much they cost? How far away from Manchester is Blackburn?

Anyways, keep me posted on what is 'going down'.

btw, Ade, with a pad, you will find that using the D-Pad is easier for things like 270 throws, and three directional moves, (like Akira's body check, or Jeff's backbreaker), but getting the diagonal buttons on a pad is really difficult, so crouch-dashing and throws can be a pain.
I am experiencing alot of problems with the pad at the moment, I'm really pissed off that I can't do basic things like Jacky's +, I end up doing his side kick instead! I am looking into getting a stick, but I have no idea how to get one, how much they cost or which one's are good. when I have the cash I will look into getting one. How much would I be looking to pay for a good quality stick, bearing in mind that I would only be using it for VF, so it can be a specially designed one for the game..........

I don't think the point of MGS2 was putting soldiers to sleep all the time, it was imho one of the best, most enjoyable gaming experiences of my life first time thru.

Steev will verify that I played it 8 hours straight on the saturday just after it came out, went to bed, got up and played 10 hours straight the next day and completed it.

Very few games (eg only ones like RE, SH, VF4 (back in the day I'd play till the early hours every night)etc...) have had me playing so long without a proper break and without really wanting to stop too.

(or something like that). I reckon it could be the best game, or one of the best single player games I ever play, it loks positively sexual.

p.s. Ade, thanks for the advice on stance watching a few weeks back, I have been practicing and I can do it almost 100% against the A.I. and about 80% against Andy.

Shaun, bearing in mind Mike beat Ryan a couple of times on the 25th, I don't think he's likely to let his money go as easily as you may imagine (if he puts it up that is).

Oh and Mikes just not about SPoD either...sick sdes, 100% DLC (yeah I know many can do this), lethal use of dfs, nice stepping and near perfect combo execution every time from p1 and p2 side...those are things I'd worry about more than just SPoD.

Ade and Mye:

Some nice games yesterday guys, I think some of them were our very best (technically) to date. I'm well back into VF now and thankfully back on form with Akira.

Some SF craziness is always good as well Ade...next time let's have a first to 15, 6 rounds max, my chars vs your Turbo Ken chamone. Could be a reet laugh. No money involved of course, just play for skanks sake.

Oh and cheers for showing me the Tekken stuff, opened my eyes some of it. Still no sign from PayPal but I'm looking into it now.

Ev2, we can play a money match ofcourse, I think £50 might be unlikely though with it being christmas, but I'll have to see how it goes with the over time (btw, Blackburn is far from manchester).

Chris, when last I played Mike, I took him to 23-0 with JEFFRY!

I wasn't trying to say that the SPoD was all that he could do, far from it. What I was saying is that he can do the SPoD 100% of the time, which is really hard and really effective. I can do the SPoD about 50% of the time, but that is just because my input speed is so slow that I manage to pull it off when I try to do it as fast as I can, where as most Akira players have said that when you are trying to do the SPoD, you must reduce your input speed by a large amount, because you have to be much faster to do his max damage combos. (I still can't do the max damge Yoho combo, so I stick to +, , ++, +, +).

It should be interesting to play him, but I think that the comments about Ryan were a little strange. I played the guy once and I managed to get one round off of him. (It was obvious that he wasn't even making an effort, he was doing TFT combos that change direction of the float in mid-air!!!!).

I will see what i can do, at the moment I really havent a clue either way what will happen but will be more clear soon. No i havent been able to play anyone else yet. Since i first started playing VF4-Apart from the few matches against you guys i have only ever played my mate who plays as Kage and isnt brilliant. Its only ever quest mode that i play but I think youll agree I have picked up quite a lot from that. I hope I can come cos i want to see what my stick skills have got to. (haventplayed anyone on it except Chris for a few casual matches) Ill keep you posted. Oh yeah- where the hell is this meet? Havnt got time to trawl through the pages as I cant spend long on the net. Doing yoho, p, dlc is pretty good, but try doing yoho, , dlc. It's slightly better at damage and works on nearly all players except heavyweights. Also try yoho, , double palm.
