We are still on for Sunday madness 12:30 @ chris'?

As Ade is at the RB it might be just me and you chris, we could play some VF evo and I'll teach you some awesome skanks on SF3:3rd strike!

Scott, why don't you come to the next RB? Chris is, so you might as well come as well.

Oro's TOO MUCH in 3strike! LOL.

I might come along to the next RB, but it's all the hastle of travel, place to stay, money etc maybe.

Oro is now my main in 3rdSrike, but i can play Remy, Dudley, Chun Li and as with everyone, Ken.

Peeps need to play more 3rdstrike as T5 is broke to fuck and needs DR, guilty gear in jennies has a fucked up button layout, CvS2 in Jennies is always mashed up, and there is a pretty good scene in manc for 3rdStrike, Umer plays, Jameel plays and all the chinese guys are good.

Well you should be able to crash at Mike's, but your right it does cost ££££ to go to London.

Will TRY and practise 3rd Strike, but I'm concentrating on VF at the moment, don't want to let the side down.

The London RB didnt go too well for me. Sometimes I just froze up and other times I was doing really well only to be grabbed by a Wolf throw, lobbed against a wall and ko'd after having over half my energy intact. This game pisses me off sometimes lol, dont even get me started on Lei Fei! Hehe, oh well, I think I am gonna take a break from vf till vf5. Casual battles seem more my thing-I was doing well against people in the casuals but when peoples minds turn toward 'competition play' vf suddenly turns for the worse in my opinion.

I like competitive play. Helps you see how good you really are because everyone is trying their hardest to win.

Sorry to hear it didn't go so well. Don't give up though, you'll probably do better next time and even if you don't it'll still be good learning no?

Yeah its true. It just went wierd, I mean I was beating G-ho who won the RB before and when I had some really intense games with Knee ninja afterwards it was like 12-11. But I just fucked up a bit when it mattered. I beat Optimus 2-0 who knocked me out last time so god knows what was going on. I say I'm not gonna play vf but I doubt I'll last the end of the day before I pick it back up.

Usually in the casual games, people don't play their absolute best, they take risks, mess about, go for the flashy finish etc. When it comes to a tournament match, all the veterans (Opti, G-Ho, Knee etc) all get their game faces on and play top tier VF. maybe it's the fact that you are still relatively new to high level competition play which makes 'freeze' etc. I too am quite new to the high level scene, and can make basic school-boy errors when it comes to a competition. It's the battle hardened players who have gained lots of experience and are able to maintain focus and no lose their cool in a fight that will always win. In terms on skill, there is nothing seperating you or I from the rest of the players in the country, it is purely experience, and the only way to gain experience is to keep playing, take your losses, learn from them and get stronger. If you have got the time and the money to go to 90% of the Ranking Battles the guys in London are running, then within 6 months, you should start racking up the points. Stick with it, and the rewards will be reaped....

I got fucked up in London, but did have a great time and defo would go to any other VF RB's that were held. Sad to hear they might be cancelled due to lack of ££££. Still love VF, it's strange, it's almost like I've 'started again' and can re-evaluate the game from scatch.

'I get knocked down, but I get up again' LOL.

Well, 4th sunday in a row at mine playing VF (which is the good news, consistent playing) but ended up as only me and Scott. Matt was busy with work and Synth rang, said he was coming but was a no show. Not sure what happened. Anyways had some close first to 10's:

LM v K Akira v Brad 9-10 (down to the last possible round!)
    LM v K Akira v Goh 8-10
    LM v K Akira v Brad 8-10

Sum good games, I am actually learning how to play against Brad properly now since no ones ever really used him at our sessions.

Same again next sunday for those who can make it.

Nice one for the RB Dan and Ade, don't get dis-heartened tho, like Shaun says I think we (all) just need more experience at playing at a higher level.

    EDIT:

Ade we also had some Alpha 3 on the go on sunday, as well as T5 and HSF...and Darkstalkers 3. Bit of a fighting game orgy.

btw has anyone else got a PSP and used GTA to get SNES/Megadrive etc emulators on them?! Scott's got loads of SNES games on his PSP! Get Alien 3!

Should be able to make it this Sunday, will have to go back to the drawing board and 'start again' as it were.

Got SOTC as well, not played it yet though, will start it in a day or two (not tonight, it's all about Life on Mars and Prison Break).

I should be up for this Sunday (unless the kids come up again).
You guys still play VF mainly, right?
You don't put VF on for like, 1 hour, and then switch to Tekken or 3rd strike (whatever the hell that is) or any crappy football games?
I want non-stop VF action, from SPoD to TFT, I want it all!!!

Oh no, it's generally just VF for about 3/4 hrs or so. Since there was only Scott and myself at the last meet and we'd had 3 first to 10s we just played some other games for variation.

Come on Ade, if Shaun is coming on sunday you have to try and make it...I can't even recall the last time we had a meet with all the "regulars". I'll see if Ramsey is up for some games too.

Yeah, Adey boy, I wanna toss that freaky ninja into 'nobody can stop me' hell!!!

Yeah Chris, try and round up as many players as you can, the more the merrier.
Also, do you have any tables to rest the sticks on, or is it strictly stick-in-lap?

    Anyways, looking forward to it...

Well, we have a small 2 seater couch type thing (perfect for 2 player beat em ups), 2 nice chairs, 2 coffee tables (for the set ups) and 4 other spare chairs...so it's possible to use one of the spare chairs to balance your stick on if you need to.

I'll text Rambo in a mo, Scott and myself are a definate, Matt probably can't make it due to work, Ade and Synth are maybes I guess, I'll see who I can get up for it.

Chris, what time should I aim to arrive at Victoria station? The trains arrive at half past every hour, but then I will need to get a taxi from Victoria. Also, where would be the best place for me to tell the taxi to go, because if I give the driver your address and he doesn't know where you live, then there will be problems, so I need you to meet me somewhere that the driver will know....

Just tell the taxi to go the 'Footage and Firkin' Pub near Oxford Road train station. Chris's gaff is 2 min's away.

Ok, Adey, thanks. Are you (or Chris) going to be able to meet me at the pub (cliche, I know) so that I know where to go?

There's a free bus outside Victoria that will take you to Oxford Road. Get off it and you will be near Oxford Road Station. Walk away from the city centre until you see Scu Bar.

I think Footage and Firkin is just called "The Footage" these days, old man Ade /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
