Northern California VF Thread!!

Definitely...good luck on your board. I had a real nasty issue with a solder point on my fierce button a few years ago. It would come loose often after a couple weeks of use. Had to finally sit down and get it right. It end up looking real ugly but the connection has remained for years now. Soldering has always been a pain for me even though I went to school for it back in the day.

Next weekend I expect to have a good mix of players. I'm also open to weekdays since I have come up on some free time that I can spend on VF training. So if anyone has an itch to play offline during the week let me know.

 

Hey cobratron, how often will your place be available on weekends? I was thinking it would be good to have weekly sessions somewhere. If cobratron's or someone else's place isn't available every weekend, maybe we could meet up at Gamecenter or SouthTown. Myung from Gamecenter said he could give us as many setups as we need if we meet there on Sundays. Venue fee is $7 and let's you play as much as you want until the place closes.

Also haunts announced on Facebook that STA will start running weekly 3D ranbats on Fridays with VF, SCV and Tekken. Schedule will be announced tomorrow.

I was expecting info for VF at Southtown to come about soon after EVO. Great news!

Yea we had a good mix of players sat and sun and hopefully more this weekend. I'll be at south town a little before 7pm to get some warm up games in...and I'll def send u a couple fr's when I back online..

 

acyually i have a few questions regarding STA

how much is it?
hows the parking situation?
and what system is VF being played? also do they mod sticks there

 

Pretty sure its $10 to enter for a single game. $5 for additional tourneys that day.
Parking lot is right next door/across the street.
PS3...theres no modding service at sta

The STA tourneys don't start until next week anyway, so you've got some time to level up.

 

Hey people. Name's Derek, I moved to San Francisco about a month ago, and starting played Virtua Fighter...Tuesday, I think. Just figured I'd pop in and say hi. Maybe I'll enter the STA ranbats when they start up, just because I can. Of course, I'm mostly a Street Fighter player, so that'll be my first priority for Ranbats.

I've only played VF5:FS online so far, but I think I'm going to REALLY enjoy it once I get the hang of it.

 

Hey Derek welcome to San Francisco and also to Virtua Fighter and VFDC. I think you can count on one hand the amount of people living IN the city who are actively playing VF. But there's a bunch in the nearby area. So your welcome to come to the weekend sessions at my house. This weekend especially since you will be able to level up with some of the best in the Bay Area in prep for next Friday. PM me for address and any other info.

ps: I stopped playing SF completely when I started playing VF full-time in March. Also been enjoying both games since SF2 and VF1 in the early 90's. Who knows maybe the same could happen to you.

 

Yep don't worry I've been pretty free at all the pre-console release tourneys at STA since Feb/Mar. Its good to get some experience playing with people who know what the hell they are doing especially on a stream where the world can see. Helps you get rid of tourney jitters and what not. Just play alot (offline if possible) from now until then and you will be okay.
