Skech is working too...seems like low numbers this week for all vf events in the US

I dont plan on missing anymore and this is the first i couldnt make it to since i started going in March. I think Crazydrunk and 001 are the only ones now who've made it to every ranbat. Hopefully both of them show up tonight but have fun and play well to all who do.

 

Awesome turnout. Wish I could of went. 14 participants and I counted 8 to 10 regulars who didn't even come. Next time if everyone shows up we should have 22+ and a sign that VF is not dead at all in Norcal. Lets keep TTT2 the 2nd most popular game at No Mercy Fridays

 

So the main SF gathering is in SF right? Anyone doing carpools to SF from East Bay? I have a car but I don't really want to drive to SF every week.

 

All of us in the East Bay usually BART over. If you'd like we could meet up at Powell station in SF and walk over together.

The next tourney at Southtown hasn't been set yet, but it'll probably be in the next few weeks. It's always at the same time, starts at 7pm on Fridays. Usually get there a fair bit early to get some casuals in. Keep your eyes on this thread and someone will update it with the next exact date.

Cobratron hosts some casuals on Saturdays at his place, but the group of us from the East Bay haven't been able to make that trek quite yet. But if you can I recommend it, he's a stand up guy and I've heard a lot of good play goes down there.

Also do you play online? I play on both xbl and psn and would be happy to get some games in with you some time. Who do you play?

 

I'm an absolute newbie to the game, got crushed online today in ranked and player matches. These past years, I've been playing other fighters. I don't know who I want to play yet but I'm leaning towards Aoi.

I've read some posts saying she's an intermediate character though. I updated my profile to reflect my gamer-tag. Would be great playing you if you don't mind getting bored playing a newbie.

 

Hey it takes time, don't feel embarrassed! I sent you a friend request on xbl, I'd be happy to do some player matches with you.

One of my best friends plays Aoi, she's got a great bag of tricks! All the characters in VF feel very unique and you might find someone you like even more. I know a lot of people recommend Jean & Taka to new players, but I'd say Sarah and Pai are good characters to learn the basics on too. Find a character that feels right and roll with it.

 

Aoi is very good if you can quickly recognize player habits and capitalize on them. She also has some pretty tricky fakes and cancels. Fun character overall, but I'd expect a little bit of a rough going at first.

Not sure if I can make it this week, but I'll be there next week for sure. Just an FYI, I'm going to be gone for a good chunk of December since my dad is undergoing surgery, and I'll be in Iowa helping him recover. But I can always join in if you guys turn online on

Good times tonight everyone. Another solid turnout, and I saw a lot of improvement. I don't think I'll be able to make it out to Cobratron's this weekend since I'm completely out of it after driving all over the place. Who knows, though....

 

Would've loved to make it this week but I'm literally out of money.

I'll try getting to the next one.
