Sorry about that, there was a small dried water drop on the lens so that's how it turned out. I think someone else has a better group picture.

    ha, adam...good enough -

I'll admit my post was about getting this out there officially:

You are right. Andy shouldn't have said shit. He wasn't even there.

    more than anything else.

Andy just really fucks up the experience. If he hadn't implied he was kazu's Don King, I wouldn't have really said shit about anything... it's annoying for andy to talk about having kazu on his team because andy doesn't play on the same level. When kazu's paired with you, I can see saying "that's the New York team". If Kazu were paired with trollmaster, it'd just be "Kazu's team" or "that team with Kazu"... na mean?

Anyway, sorry for my bitter-sounding post. I was really hoping NY would be graceful winners, and they have been... almost.

Adam I can understand what your saying, and as a player i agree with most of it. I'm not sure on where or how this "Haters" and "Crews" thing got started. I left the gathering happy as did most ppl. It's no secret that Florida and NYC has a rivalry now and probably forever will as long as Andy and you have things to say in terms of owning at VF and being better than say, "HYDRA". My biggest problem with it is this. You and Andy are known for talking shit and we'll talk shit right back in sport and fun. Competition builds and we'll eventually meet cause neither of us are petty enough to let online babble get in the way of playing VF with stiff comp. Team Nyosaka won the tourney, Kazu wasn't around when all this got started and naturally I don't give a rats ass if your paired with Kyasao or Ohsu Akira, your not light years ahead of everyone else, like andy depicts in his rants. "YOU" and "ANDY" paired with GOD himself doesn't impress me. If someone was to ask me the first day who was going to win the tourney I would have had to go with Ryan Hart, then Nyosaka and I honestly thought we'd be battling with STL, GOLDENS, or NYC2. I'm not taking the win away from NYC I'm giving it to NYosaka. Kazu doesn't seem to be interested at all in drama, just VF. Maybe you and Andy can learn something from him other than how to DTE without whiffing the TE's and you can actually learn some frames and how to put up a decent fight against lei fei.

Another point to make is this, Creedo either hit it on the head or was very close. Kazu trained in Japan, lived in Japan, and has played VF since VF2. He didn't even get into NYC until September of last year. He eventually found you guys and has played and trained with you for a short time now. My point is Kazu has gained next to nothing from you and you have gained quite a bit. If you had any balls you'd have constructed a team of Just NYC guys like yourself and Rodney or Nelson or Andy even. You took the NYC glory out of it when you went and decided to have Kazu on your team. It's kind of like Creed said, Kobe joins your pickup-team for your area and you streak on all the teams there and then go about telling all the teams how your area is the best. Adam you were spot on in the tourney and congrats on your win with Kazu. You da MAN!!

Hey everybody, just wanted to say how great it was to see old faces again, and also to meet new ones this time!

Ryan: All I can say is thanks for all the Kage tips. You're game is too strong. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Hope to see you in the US again sometime soon. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Adam: Of course, thanks for hosting the tournament. I think everyone had a good time. Your Jeffry game had improved from playing Kazu so much and was impressive overall. Good showing in the tournament. watch out for [K],[G] [4]+[P]+[G] next time /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Rodney: Way to represent with the training man. It really showed, your Akira was a pleasure to watch and play against. As always it was just fun to be around you and share some VF'ing experience. Thx for the fun. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Nelson: Big nasty Vanessa man, good stuff in the tournament too. We should have played some more matches together over the weekend, unfortunately my play time was cut a little short when someone gave me sars on sat. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif So I didn't get to play as much as I would have liked with most ppl. You'll just all have to come to FL in Oct. =)

Kazu: Amazingly technical Lau! So strong, that's all I can say. I really wish we could have played more than just the handful of matches that we got in together. Looking forward to playing with you again in the future. =)

    Shou: Move to FL. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Sumeragi: Your Lau is a lot of fun to watch and play against. We had some enjoyable matches together, and a few really good ones in the tournament. You should move to FL also. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Llan: Always great to get together with you and live VF for a few days. How about that tournament footage.... /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

BMF: Nice aggressive Akira and Kage!

Nam: Your Shun was teh Hotness this time, 270's all over the place! I did get you back, and now you're going to run away to Japan! wanker /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif I look forward to our next meeting. Best of luck man.

SuperG: You're Jacky was guessing right so many times this weekend it was scary. Move to FL. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Srider: Good to see you again, your game had improved a good deal since we last played in SC. You play so many characters now I can't keep track! Wolf, Lau, Sarah, all solid. =)

Flood: One of the new faces for me at this event. Your Vanessa and super aggressive play style is a blast to watch and a lot of fun to cheer for, I was rooting for you guys all the way, well, except for maybe Jerky and Shang, cause they were our ride. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Jerky: My man, thanks for the ride to and from the air port. Thanks for not waking us up too many times with your hysterical screaming in the middle of the night. FL and Boston shared a room together this time, I feel like we really got to know you guys better and I think we all had fun. See you in a few months. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Shang: Your Wolf gave me large headaches for the first few days. I WANT TO DODGE!!!!!! =P Excellent use of the franky. =P Now you just need to move to FL with Jerky, and start playing Akira again. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know I haven't gotten around to everyone here, but it's getting too late for me to finish tonight, so I'm gonna have to post again later. Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this event one to remember.

It's all about the baby carrots! And smiley abuse. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Touche! Yeah, Lei Fei is hard to fight against if one isn't used to it. Thanks fer the tip. I never needed frames to beat yer ass, but i too have a tip for your game. Consensus is that maybe you should stop expending all that energy trying to "dance" around the ring and actually fight. If you tone down the "fluff", you would be even stronger than you are right now! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif The fluff does "look" nice tho!

...and has played and trained with you for a short time now.

And barring him being deported or something, he will continue to play with us into the next iteration of VF. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats totally absurd Blonde-Nuts. True, he helped us improve certain aspects of our game, but he gained as well. He gained more-than-competent sparring partners who now are able to go toe-to-toe with "Godzilla" himself! /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif More importantly he "gained" friends who share his love for VF and are willing to train hard. That gotta count for a lot, methinks. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wah, wah, wah, wah....Done crying yet? /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Sigh, I think its just sad. Its not like we put a gun to the guys head. The guy (Kazu) himself considers himself a NY Crew member - so thats all that should matter, no?

Namflow.. way to represent Shun my favorite player and on a pad. As I am a pad player myself. Imf tells me you are playing more and more like me now! haha. Just kidding. Later

You can fucking SUCK IT then creed. Sure I wasnt there, but whose equipment were people using? Whose projector A/V stuff helped power the event?

Who the fuck developed the CTF scene (Bought the VS city cabinets and went nearly every weekend) which WITHOUT we probably NEVER would have met KAZU.

And like adam said when you have 6 or 7 people who play INTENSELY with each other of course we are gonna have pride in our team. I wasn't there BUT I am very happy about teamNYC winning. And screw if YOU dont have the LOG but MONTHS AGO I called and pointed out that because we have him we would win the next tourney. That fact has been proved.

About your point of me not being on the "same" level. No i'm not, but i'm damn closer than you'll ever be. Plus who came in second place and at the last nyc tournament?

If you wanna hate cause I wasnt at the tournament fine. But I said we (as in OUR TEAM) would win cause of him/him training with us (everyone INCLUDING me hiro and sal) and it happened. Point PROVED.

How come you didnt go Andy /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif I figured you would want to show off your evo lau skills.

I think also, NY would have made a bigger point if someone other than Kazu took 1st. Its awesome someone from your team won, congrats, but It just seems kinda weird that you guys are saying we told you so, when no one had any doubts that "Kazu" Could win it, but what they did doubt was the American NY players.

I started a new job just barely two months ago. I also work weekends BOTH saturday and sunday, so theres no way I could take the time off when I just started.

BTW I would have said the exact same thing if Nelson and Rodney won. Fact is we gained alot from Kazu and he gained something from us. Imagine if he had to go without VF for the 3 years he will be here in the USA. FAct is him getting better will come from playing players who can become as good or better than he is now. My point was whether it was Kazu/Adam, Nelson/Rodney or had it been me/hiro/sal I knew we were gonna take it, theres no less credit that should be given to us as a team and to the individual players.

I thought if anything, NYC and FL should be shaking hands after this one, we helped each other out to prevent Ryan from taking first spot. We only had a legitimate chance at him becuase he was paired with a toughtful Kage player in Mark who just doesn't have a lot of experience. I thought it would have been better if Ryan had been paired with a more experienced teammate, or maybe if it had been a single man tourney. Nonetheless we still worked together and without each other's combined efforts Ryan would have been first without question.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That didn't happen yet, there were still plenty of NA teams that could have easily competed without Kazu being there as the difference maker. Kazu had to win all his matches in the finals to keep NYC on top. I'm sure given more time to train with him you guys will have a better chance to make that happen in the future.

Just a note about Kazu being on the NYC team. Of course he's a part of the team! That's obvious, but it seems that sometimes you want him being on the team to be the same thing as him being an actual NA player on an equal level with the rest of the NA players so that when he wins it's like we had a great chance and NYC came out ahead. I'll just tell you that for other NA players it will be impossible to view Kazu that way, anyone travelling to play in NYC will look forward to playing a truly high level Japanese player and competing with the rest of your crew, that's just how it is. It's like having a full grown man on your girls soccer team, sure, he helps you out a lot and is a big asset to the team, and of course he gets a lot out of it himself.... well I better not finish this one actually. You probably get my point. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Since you weren't there Andy, please keep your mouth shut for the benefit of your teammates that were there and did represent extremely well. Adam, Rodney and Nelson all played and competed for NYC with that "intense" pride you guys have, chest beating is only going to make ppl forget their efforts and focus on "the Kazu difference".

Like most people agreed, the tournament was a lot of

fun. It was because, there were several competitive

teams that could play dramatic matches whenever they

played. Team NYC, Florida, UK were all competitive,

and by a tiny difference, NYC won the title.

Congraturation, it's great. What else do we need?

We would have made a foreign player team with

Kazu and Ryan in a team to be "FAIR". But, I don't think

we would have had as much fun as we did in the

actual tourney. Plz don't ruin the good memories that

people got from the great gathering.
