Occupation?

Math specialist. I instruct advanced algebra, geometry and calculus to elementary and middle school students. My company follows a Socratic Methodology, thus no lecturing.

Thats the only real job ive ever had since completing my B.S in civil engineering at michigan state univerisity. Never really got into the whole engineering thing...it seems kinda boring, just had to get a degree in something.

Long term i am working towards a Ph.D and then working as a professor at some minor university while completing research

Its paying the bills, but not much else. I'm hoping to get hired as an in-house designer at an advertising agency, but the market is SUPER tough right now.

 

I work at a game company in Japan, doing localization (editing/translating).

It's amusing that the age bracket of those currently on VFDC are exactly those that fall into the group that had a chance to play the older VF's.

OT:

Where I work: own business, which I co-founded with a couple of partners.

What we do: We're the "ghost muscle" for digital and traditional ads and brand projects. We're the "AM2" to the "Sega" ad agencies. 99.9% of the time, nobody knows it's us, because nearly all the contracts require an NDA.

What I do specifically: By way of education - branding, design, etc. Although quite often, due to my fascination for cognitive psychology, I'm in charge of information architecture and usability for our clients.

 

Real Estate Broker in Manhattan. I deal with primarily luxury rentals and sales. I have to say I love what I do and the return
is just sexy. If anyone needs a job let me know.

Working on reopening a office in Philadelphia too, but it's not
quite ready yet.

What else do I do?
I own a capoeira academy based out of DE an PA.
Former filmmaker now professional screenwriter.

Do I have time to live a normal life? Absolutely not.

Anyway I'm currently a undergrad student at SUNY Binghamton, NY.
I'm a bio major, probably gonna go to med school after I graduate, should be interesting...
Strangely enough, I hate bio, love math, love jujitsu and love VF5! But strangely enough I'll probably be a doctor lol (Dream job= mad scientist muhahaha).

I'm a chemist/biochemist at an American biotech company. I perform QC testing on our clinical drug pipeline.

I STRONGLY recommend a science major to any of you out there that are still young enough to choose such a path. I think it's your best bet to be successful in this day and age. Plus, the three major science fields (bio, chem and physics) are very fascinating subjects and they're always evolving.

I'm running mostly HPLC and CE-SDS assays these days. I wrote my end of the year self-assessment last night. Here's hoping for a nice bonus and raise!

know this, its never too late to start something new. My ride started out bumpy too, and things turned around for me a little later, but eventually they turned around. Opportunities pop up in some of the strangest places. Keep your head up and mind open, treat ppl with kindness, and good things will follow.

 

i was workin cutting stuff but now im training in the same company to work in the moldroom because my friend quited the dude been there for 4 yrs and WTF he got no benefits no raise. i got some basic training there today and im tired as hell cleaning filters getting messy, counting and loading plastic molds, putting inserts in molds, sorting plastic materials. shit if i dont get $ between $15 to $25 or hoping more , uniforms, health/dental plan, vacation/sickday/holidaypay benefits it aint worth it busting my ass. I go back to school. I know i might sound a little selfish but why r all the minorities in the company im workin at being F@@#ing rejected benefits and raises and they been working more than 4 to 8yrs i dont understand.
