Yep...I like this version a lot. I dunno, there is something very nice about the purple, yellow, and white layout. It is definitely easy on the eyes.

If you plan on using different character jpgs, there wouldn't be as much conflict with the color scheme in design5 as with design6. That color scheme is lot more neutral.

I like design 6, but I really like design 5.

Thanks for the feedback GhostDog. I *think* we're probably going to go with Design 6 colors -- a lot of people seem to really like that yellow (me too /versus/images/icons/smile.gif).

P.S. Oops, I forgot to make the sample text in the main box light gray. If you notice, the text even in VC isn't white but light gray (that's why it's so easy on the eyes).

 

One of the things I like if vf3 is how each character has their own color background at character select/portrait. Maybe you could implement something like this (i.e. kage's page blues, wolf's page reds etc)?

Damn, that would be an administrative nightmare.

thanks for the tips pn printing. I'm sure I can figure it out with a little messing around (it seems if I select "no halftoning" and do a few other things that might do it); but again, pure text versions would be nice to have.

I think designs 7 and 11 look bad ass with the face close-ups, and I feel the more distant shots aren't as strong.

Again, I really like the bright colors you tried with the kage page. I guess an "administrative nightmare" means it would be a huge pain in the ass to make/keep up? Maybe just the side bars could be different colors, along wiht the portraits at the top, but all the text could be put over one consistent color ( I wouldn't really want to read pai info with white letters on pink ground...). I guess I'm just a sucker for color.

As far as the overall look, I still feel nothing beats the look of the gamest mooks. The intro page for the combo sectios in the vf3 act 2 book (close up montages) is the coolest. all those books have a really clean, yet colorful and exciting layout.

I'm sorry I dont recall saying anything anout moveslist's in my last post nor was I implying that VFDC has no info actually for my money it probally has more info than most sites I've seen. I was just saying I like the look of the site it is enjoyable to navigate. I espiecially like the look of the moveslist's they are far more attractive than most. So I am sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks about the moveslist's. I always enjoy when people ask for feedback and then get irked when people give it to them

I take it that it's a general policy (or "request") for banner ads to be up on the top, huh? ugghh.... Don't we all wish we could just stick them deem down below (purposefully avoided "under"). They are the crap on sites anyways, aren't they?

Hmmm... I think I agree with Adam... At least in 15 they blend into the site, which does more to "hide" them than "distinguish." Putting White would definitely draw eyes to the ads.

Thus, if you've gotta stick them somewhere on the top, might as well blend them into the site where (as I see it), they'll be less noticeable. If not just less distracting/versus/images/icons/smile.gif

I thought it was the name of the Shoalin monk, but according to Shota's most recent post his name is "Lei-Fei". I guess that makes it two people who don't know who "Wenchi" is!!

By the way, design 15 looks MUCH better than the other two layouts.

I also don't mean to offend anyone but... Jeff... maybe ask someone else to design the site? Because frankly, the current design looks WAY better than the ones you're posting...

Cool; it's unanimous then, Design 15 will probably stand as my last image prototype. The next step would be to convert it into HTML.

KBCat, thanks for the kind words. It's motivation to keep this going.

GLC, damn dude, you need to read the posts. I've said many times over that there will be other people submitting designs; the best one will be used. But I recognize that you can't please everyone.
