Looks good, a bit disappointed with the game line up at the moment though.

Well, I'm online with the free 12 month trial. From my current location (Minnesota) the latency is really too high for fast paced games like FPSs, racers, fighting games, and music games, so overall I don't have much to choose from. I haven't measured the actual latency yet, but I estimate it to be somewhere between 200-300ms from action ti response. Honestly though, if there was a server center near my location, I have a feeling things would work a lot better, based on the feedback many others have been giving. So yea, there's a lot about this service I dislike, but I think it has a decent chance of being a success. One thing that sort of intrigues me is that the nature of the platform as a service may encourage releases of things that many developers would never dream if releasing on PCs or consoles, for fear of piracy and exportation. Japanese arcade games for instance...

So what games are you actually playing?

I played demos for several games. I tried Arkham Asylum, and it was pretty fun. Worked well enough to be playable, although I'd have like a bit more responsiveness. World of Goo worked well too, but with that game lag isn't much of a problem to begin with. When I tried Unreal Tournament however, the latency made it impossible to aim properly. It wasn't totally unplayable, but it was bad enough to take any fun out of the experience.

I'm not going to buy any games for the service with this level of responsiveness. Especially when you consider the fact I have a decent PC and Xbox 360 already, and none of the games available aren't already on one or both of these platforms. But it's still a pretty cool way to instantly try games I may want to buy later for a different platform.

I demo'd them all and lag is very minimal to me. I am running it from my laptop, through the hdmi port to my tv. Dirt 2 being the worst experience so far.

Graphics are descent...better than Wii, but not as sharp, but close to the PS3 or 360.

My favorite feature by far is the Arena. It is really cool that you can jump and watch a game at anytime.

I am just waiting for Crysis so I can actually buy and play a game all the way through.

It would seem that people who live very close to the service centers are getting great results (almost as good as offline) whereas people living closer to the edge are getting mediocre results. Keep in mind that from my location I'm at the edge of their service range. It's not surprising my results were less than stellar. You on the other hand, live very close, so you are getting a much better experience. Here is a helpful map:

I think if they ever put a server center in Minneapolis, I could ditch my 360 and never look back.
