Wow /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gifwho is that Aoi player?I've rarely seen an all out attacking display like that for a while from an Aoi player. The wolf match was fun to watch too.

hmmm who are those 2 wolf players, they seem quite aggressive. A change from the defensive styles. That Aoi player is cool too. Heruru, tries so hard, gets so close yet so far. Chibita, what is there to say about that guy, nice match for him too. Guess arashi was having a bad day or something,

The Aoi player is "The Gorilla". The Wolf players are "Gorilla Kagesuke" (on the left) and "Hideo". Then of course there's Haijin(Jacky) vs Tsuchikumo(Pai).

When was this tournament, because it seems that a few of these players either started new cards, or lost their cards before it happened?

Take a look at Arashi and Gorilla Kagesuke's # of games played. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ah thanks for that DRE...must be the Aoi player on the evo dvd called guerilla.Man he's sooo aggressive /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
btw I don't suppose you know who Demihuman ( Goh ) is on the evo disc or Proffesor ( Lau )?I mean there actual japenese names...or are these the names they actually use?

"Proffesor" is Hakushon Lau. I think "Demihuman" is in one of the disk replays, so it might be Arashi. The U.S. version has some weird translations, so it might take some time to compare to the Japanese version and figure out who's who.

Ah thanks again.Yes I thought Demihuman was Arashi but someone told me he wasn't on the evo dvd.Shame about his match with Chibita /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif...though I must say I loved watching Ohsu take it to him 3 - 0. [3][K] > SPoD what a finish!

no way! i was watching demihuman play thinking "he's good, but he's no arashi".. in the disk replays, he seems so ... "standard", leik he was even rinsing the staple single palm ~ p ~ K as aposed to all his other quirky variations /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

EDIT: are segirl &, turbo pai (and others?) actually different people?

I was wondering about the vids on Jeff as well. That Jeff player loses every single match he's in /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I don't know of many Jeff players, except that Kage player that also uses Jeff (sorry, I may mess up his name here) Kyasou, and I've seen him do better than that...that is if that was him that I saw before /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

    Also, Freeloader Jacky.

I thought Turbo Pai was Tsuchimo.

    guys,

the players in the Replays on the Evo disc are the same players from the Japanese version, just the names have been changed. Demihuman is Arashi, Turbo Pai is Tsuchikumo, Freeloader is Haijin etc.

If the play seems a little rusty, remember that these matches were probably recorded a couple months prior the the Japanese release n March, so... Jan or Feb. Less than 6 months after Evo came out, probably right after the release of version B.

I wish they would have left most of the names alone, as it only leads to confusion for the players who are really interested in who these Japanese players are. Say, Spotlite, did you mention anything to the SoA staff when you were doing the training translations about the name changes? Or did you simply not know? :\

Before the Chibita/GameCenterArashi bout, the announcer mentions that GCArashi won the previous matches. Although he says that this is the one that counts, does anyone know what the other matches were? Prelims? Exhibitions? Or just warm-ups? Anyone seen 'em or are they going to be posted? thanks!

so segirl would be segaru right? how about cmr?, dippy, sorry shun, and hanabirei? (heruru?)

    I know Hanabi is a different Lei player. I dunno what happened to Heruru in the international version. If they altered him, I will be very sad. ;_;

Hanabirei and Heruru are both LeiFei players on the Evo disc (at least on the American one).

cmr and Segirl play Wolf I think.

    Dippy play Jef

    Sorry Shun plays.........

The only complaint I have about the AI based off of Japanese players, is that even in the Japanese release of the game, I had never seen the players customize their characters to look like that. I mean the least they could have done was make them look the way we are used to seeing them.... /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think Segirl and Sega-ru are both on the game.

What's funny is that alot of these players had accurately translated names in VF4 ver.C PS2 for Kumite, but for Evo Quest, Sega just either rushed, or didn't care for translating. I mean there is no way that Game Center Arashi become DemiHuman /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If no company makes a guide for American Evo, as soon as I (or someone else) hits 100% on players they have faced, maybe that list can make it's way onto the site.

    sorry shun is Itabashi Zangief.
hanabirei is not heruru because there is a heruru whose rank is Guardian in the quest mode.

Segirl is Segaru. Hanabelei is Hanabelei, not Heruru.

Dippy might be Magnum Jeffry but I am not sure on

    that.
