Jealous of your Neo Geo cab. Huge KOF fan here, and getting some loose MVS carts might be a good start before I get the hardware. Got tons of SNK Saturn stuff that made use of the 1Meg cartridge, but I'm sure Mai's tits bounce better on the real deal. Arcade shit- that's the stuff I need to collect.

my neo cab was cheaper than my PS3 [IMG] and KOF 98 MVS costs like 25 bucks [IMG] you too can live the dream my friend!

the neogeo is definitely the way to go for awesome and affordable real arcade fun. Once you get the cab or a supergun setup, the games are very reasonable. Homecarts on the other hand.... don't fuck with those.

I still have a few of my old SNK ports on saturn, it was a little sad in a way when they eventually became rather obsolete between the ps2 ports and the neogeo versions. For awhile my saturn just gathered dust because all my saturn games were neogeo or cps2 fighter ports, I had to wise up and get some shmups.

Complex- Thanks for the advice man. Looks like I'll be sourcing some mvs carts soon.

Best Collection Neo Geo Pocket Last Blade and Metal Slug, and King of Fighters R1 and R2. All bought farm fresh...

The Best Collection is pretty hard to find.

Love NGPC [IMG] my ngpc stuff unfortunately looks (and is) thoroughly used.

I won't say this is expensive or rare really, but I managed to get a old PVM monitor and I hitup the electronics store today and made myself a megadrive RGB cable for it.

zomg, how did I even play oldschool games before.... this is like pixel perfect gorgeous! I can't wait to get my saturn on this setup [IMG] monitor is a perfect square too, so it's awesome for vertical shooters, sits nicely on all sides [IMG]

Complex, grew up on Thunder Force III and MUSHA on Genesis. All time favorite shooters are those and Gaiares. How'd you make the RGB cable?

Anywayz, for you Street Fighter fans- the 25th anniversary collectors set, maybe the ultimate collectors pack yet released for a game... this may be expensive later on, looks like it'll be limited to 30,000 for each 360 and PS3. Serial numbered an all... per this pic:

well the genesis 1 has a pretty common connector for it's av out (8 pin DIN I think it was) so if you are a custom joystick guy it would be easy peasy, just need the pinout. genesis 2 uses a less common connector but I think you could still find one and make a video cable if you needed one.

I actually got really inpatient and decided instead of importing a scart cable from the UK, I just took apart my saturn and soldered some wires to the video out to make my own RGB output for it. Thankfully I didn't destroy my saturn and the results are gorgeous!

I actually got giares too, unfortunately I have no nostalgia for it as I just bought and played it for the first time a few months ago lol.... but it's definitely awesome, certainly one of the best affordable shmups on the genesis. Also, I am a fraud, my thunderforce 3 is totally a bootleg, but it works fine and I paid like a dollar for it.

Right now I have a Sega Genesis/Sega CD gathering dust with a Shaq Fu cartridge and an Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side CD both in it ready to go, complete with six-button controllers. :D
