Yes, consumers assume it because of firmware, but SONY's attitude seems like there is nothing wrong with the company, and most 60G pass the warranty already so they have to pay that $200 to repair.
But the funny thing is that no body hear anything form US or European?

I'll keep tracking this news and wait for the replying by SONY next week, I just hope SONY won't go to the same way as 'dead rings' as MS.

Just tried it out last night and all I have to say is OMFG! While I'm pro 360 at the moment, but a strong believer that Sony will give MS a run for their money... HOME shits on the NXE 10 times without wiping it's ass. At first I wasn't all that excited with the look in turns of it's realism, because I feel like things like this doesn't need to be all that serious because in the end it is what it is... a fucking game and not my virtual life. Anyway, I just selected a quick preset char because I didn't have the patients to customize. When I was dropped into my apartment I was still like whatever, but it looks nice... eventually I found my way out and onto the streets where everyone else was and that's when I started to see all the shit dropping out of Sony's ass and raining down on the NXE. Quickly dashing for cover I found refuge on a stage filled with up beat individuals jamming to some tunes... Not knowing the controls I was amazed at how quickly I was able to locate and figure out how to pull off my own funky moves and decided to get my groove on with a little running man, followed by the guns blazing taunt and finished it off with a little salsa stepping to smoke everyone on the dance floor. hahahahaha shit was so dope! I wandered around some more and found my way to the mall and movie theater. I thought the mall was really cool and again was blown away when all of the sudden the in game live commercial comes on about the new Prince Of Persia game. WTF the quality of the video on top of what was already there is just insane. NXE??? what the hell is that. Sony finally starting to flex there muscles and if this is a taste of what they have in store for us then MS definitely (maybe not a lot) has something to worry about. No doubt they will try to come up with something like this in the near future, but I don't think the realism of Sony's Sims on crack experience is something MS will be able to replicate with there overly cute big headed avatars. While what they come up with might be fun as hell, the realism just will not be on the same level.

Overall I definitely liked the home experience and can see it becoming highly addicting. I'll try and give it a more worthy test run sometime this week, so if anyone wants to show me the ropes then please send me an invite. I think ShinibiFist mentioned this earlier, but having to download areas is a real drag and will eventually become a HDD killer in the long run(will definitely be upgrading my HDD at some point in the future). The cool thing is that you can let the new areas download in the background while you preoccupy yourself till it's done, but still the few MBs will add up to GBs and that's gonna be real wack down the road. Also people with microphones are just fucking assholes and will always be asshole when it comes to community games. I had fuckers purposely coming on the dance floor or into a group of people while they had the music or tv blasting in there room just to make it difficult for others to converse on a mic or here the commercials, tunes while jamming on the floor, etc. I have seen this before in other online community games, so I'm telling everyone now that I will most likely have EVERYONE muted and I will be typing 100% of time... I'm glad I didn't purchase a blue tooth headset yet and I see no point in purchasing one in the future for PS3. My last quarrel with the game I think the character moves to slow. Hopefully they will add a sprint feature in the future. I have other quarrels, but I know this is a beta and from what Sony has already implemented, I am sure things will only get better and better so let me just shut up and let them do what they do best... After all they are the experts!
