I'm afraid if I was in that room I would find a way to walk/run out of that room with a copy. It would be too tempting.

there are screens at 1up and the new PS3 version's site that are from the PS3. Looks pretty good, not that any of us will know the difference.

judging from how low-key that stick is (no fancy graphics), I'd be surprised if it were released here.

Luckily the PS3 is non region specific, so unless Sega goes out of there way to loc NA out of the Japanese version, you could get the bundle and play on your PS3 no problem. Well except for not understanding anything, but oh well.

Where is this idea of a bundle?

I never said the stick was gonna be bundled... just that it will be available on the day VF5 launches for PS3.

Anyone knows how will be controllers connected to PS3? Classic port from PS2, or USB, or something else?

wireless (bluetooth) and wired (USB) PS3 controllers/sticks
that stick depicted in the pic is a wired USB stick

there isn't any old PS1/PS2 Dual Shock ports on the PS3,
but knowing asian 3rd party peripheral manufacturers... I'm willing to bet that someone will end up making adapters/converters eventually

Damn, can't believe my eyes. This is very shocking. /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Thanx ukiraros for providing the link. I wish the joystick will be as good as HORI arcade pro stick if not better. I don't wanna spend more money on 2 sticks. The PS3 alone will take a chunk of my pocket money.

Hmm, there are some PS into USB konvertors to allow users connect their PS1/2 controllers into PC, maybe they will work good enough for PS3 too..?

I haven't tested yet, but I'll connect my RAP (with oh beautiful sanwa buttons) using a psx/usb adapter to my xbox 360 see if it works. I realize this won't answer your question, but it may give an indication that these type of connections won't matter.

Otherwise I agree with you that I don't want to spend anymore money on sticks. I have an execellent customized RAP that I use, and I'll be pissed to not be able to use it for PS3.

No, problem zakira. They did say the stick is going make use of "genuine" arcade parts.

Sega will be releasing a special joystick controller to coincide with the release of the game. The controller will make use of genuine arcade parts.

"Genuine arcade parts" is such a broad term it says nothing. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif guess we'll have to wait until someone buys and disassembles one. I like the new stick a lot, I'm just wondering what the mod/repair potentiantial will be - read: how much damage will have to be dealt to the insides to actually take the parts out.

At the least I hope replacing buttons doesn't require soldering like the RAP.

Well, if it Sanwa their standard arcade buttons withstand 10m presses as far as I recall (I'm probably on crack about this, so treat it less seriously), you have 6 of those, and 3 are needed for VF. If you can stand the crappy layout once 3 of them die, you're looking at 2 years of playing without the need of RAPeir. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And then you can send the stick to someone for repair and spend ~1,5 year waiting. Or how long was it, Jerkboy? /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The RAP requires soldering? Since when? When i switched buttons on mine it was simple case of plug out/in.

  19. Jerky

    Jerky Well-Known Member

DOOD. That was forever, and I never got the stick.

Jeneric: The RAP does not require soldering. I was just having high hopes for the new stick being the same in terms of architecture.

    It should be:

At the least I hope replacing buttons doesn't require soldering - just like the RAP does not require soldering. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

http://watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20060915/sega15.jpg - collisions need some more work, check out Brad's leg vs Jacky's arm, and Brad's foot going into the ground. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
