PSN Good Games

Yeah man, thanks a lot for all the games. I don't usually have sessions as long as ours except with my brother, and it was nice to get some experience against a Wolf who actually knows the game system. Aside from the ridiculous connection issues (my new router sucks ball-sucking balls), I think the reason I won as many as I did was because you seemed afraid of using throws against me, so I was able to use the standing-guard throw-escape thing and minimize a lot of my damage intake - if you'd have used more throws, you'd have forced me to use more abare, since I can't fuzzy for shit, nor can I do the evade crouch-dash cancel thing (my defense is either evade, guard, or abare).

Hopefull you enjoyed the games and weren't too frustrated with my appalling new connection - I've ordered another ethernet cable that's long enough to reach the PS3, and I'm hoping the wired connection is better than the wireless garbage, else VF is pretty much ruined for me for a while {sad face}

 

hey if you were playing wireless it was surprisingly good minus all the drops and a few terrible rounds here and there. Wireless is generally pretty terrible for fighters so I imagine this network cable should do the trick.

I had fun all the same, hopefully we can do it again sometime and I'll try to throw more

The room session was lots of fun! You completely trashed all my characters, including my newbie Lion, but I was glad to see that you still had work hard to win against big Taka!

Val you actually beat me alot. You leveled up ALOT. Thats the first time in a while where i was getting out-played. Your defense + Aoi's defense is extremely hard to overcome. Good stuff.

To koenraku for those spammy, untechnical and not so funny laggy matches lol I m sad we can t play without this f*****in lag coz ur kage seems to be a beast...
To Kingheim, i hate to play against shun di my match up is so poor so every match was painfull for me =) but fun...
To Lezardo, i ll repeat myself, ur characters are ugly, for sure u don t wxork for dolce & gabana lol, but ur kage is efficient, our lil session yesterday was hard and fun... In the begining everything was turning around the knowledge of the game and at the end, it was the mind game... Very enjoyable =)
To Libertine, we should play more, if you want. u got a good mind game and maybe one of the best Brad and i need to practice the brad's match up... Anyway we didn t play a lot but that was fun
To P_rep, keep on practice Vanessa, u re gettin better

Many of you have been very helpful for me to keep improving my playstyle,
and work alot on my mixup, which is where i put most of my effort the last weeks.

And i finally got a promotion after defending my defender rank for forever.
It's perhaps somewhat fair, but irritating that i could win 40+ matches against higher (and lower) ranks, but it only takes 3-5 against the "right rank" to go down or up in ranking.
I still don't want to "fish" for specific ranks and get a broad range of opponents,
i just need to be even more consequential in my winnings : )

 

Just get consistent with your play overall and most of your foes will fall regardless of rank. It means nothing personally and it doesn't gauge their real skill so just focus on being consistent overall and you will be fine. The focus should be put more on you and not the opponent just my take on the situation personally

I prefer to play a wide range of people too and never focus on specific people on purpose too much. If it happens to me it is because the other person does it most of the time not me. I don't mind it as long as I like the opponent in general though but that is just me

 

Yeah you are right, it is up to me to work on improving overall - there will always be a harder "tier" of player, or some who's still just are very effective at ones own or that finds the weak-spots quickly.

I do get a bit silently downwards in my mood where there is some that are plain better then me, who challenges repeatively to gain wins against me - but in the end it is just me that has to improve, and i will never decline out of the blue.

All said, i love the intensity of the fights in VF, even when i loose - and should try to think as little about this or that rank as possible. And no matter the _ normal _ lag, or if someone finds a way of spamming something i don't find a way to break immediately - that should just be another random sort of challenge i guess.

What i do appreciate no matter what though, is a friendly outlook on things - and a calm and positive attitute in opponents is what makes a session of VF the most rewarding, that is regardless if it is I who mash them down, or if it is them that beat me to the ground : )
