I'm in the same boat as you, man. Bought SF4, played for a while, was eventually reminded what a POS the game was, shelved it and went back to VF5. Bought SSF4, played for a while, was eventually reminded what a POS the game was, shelved it and went back to VF5.

True story, I bought Tekken 6 when it was released with a really strong intention to give it a serious go. We have a pretty big Tekken scene in Australia, so there was lots of competition and motivation to improve. The game wasn't in my console for more than 10 minutes before I got a random invite from a friend to play VF5. Without hesitation or second thought, I immediately eject the T6 disc, and played VF5 online, against one person, for the next 6 hours. Straight. The T6 disc has been on my shelf ever since.

Maybe it's a curse, but after investing so much into VF, there's just nothing else out that that even remotely comes close.

We see these fighting game communities getting massive commercial support which is the very thing we've craved for the past 10 years or more. But, like I said earlier, the euphoria of the next big thing can only take you so far and will inevitably run out. And when it does, you're left with a sub--par product offering very little substance (to the standards we expect), and you can't help but feel all shitty about it.

Nice post. I brought Tekken 6, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Soul caliber 4, Blaz blue, SSF4 and after all that the game that is still left in my Xbox remains VF5 despite trying me best to avoid it. I rather play no game at all than wasting my time with the sub-par ones (which is what I do now). I'm not bias either I desperately try hard to appreciate and enjoy the other games but the problem is it seems more like a chore than playing a game.

I haven't had my xbox on in a while but when I do I generally just play VF.

The other day there was a bunch of folk here in my mate Kenny's gaming centre playing a bunch of fighters. I managed to get a few rounds of VF against someone. He's very new to the series so it wasn't particularly fun for either of us. I pushed the xbox button in the middle of it to check my friend list for any VFDC folk.

When I play other fighters I just wish I was playing VF instead. Sometimes I find myself playing through mad VF related scenarios in my head when I'm on the bus or train or whatever.

No other video game has ever had a hold over me like that and I doubt any other game will to be honest.

Even a weak VF player like me agrees, I can add all the KOF games to the list and I always come back to VF5. In my case, it's because it's the fighting game where the mindgame takes the most important part, and this makes the defeat less bitter...

To stay on topic, here is a funny commercial for an online poker web site:

We didn't pick up the wrong game, just the game presented by a wrong company. Unless you are a super flexible player, I don't think you can adapt into other fighting games easily by holding the stereotype of VF.

Last night I just got the biggest reminder why VF is the greatest game EVER! I had a really long session with Denkai last night and while I was getting my ass kick.... Damn I was having a lot of fun. I think we must have played for about 3 hours straight. If I wasn't getting tired I would have gladly played another 3 hours.

Guys if you love this game please get online!

Whats wrong with those films? Surely you have a sense of humour. Speaking of which here is another crazy Japanese film. Hanzo the Razor. This is his daily routine [IMG]
