I've known about all of ultralewis' suggestions. (I own two of them)

I've never heard of the films you posted Matteo. Reading the descriptions they all sound depressing, not something I'd suggest watching with a group of friends.

 

to add to the list, may i suggest "visitor Q". nice movie

 

This and The Happiness of the Katakuris are his best movies imo, I got the Yakuza movie he made on my PC but never got round to watching it.

 

Takashi Miike films aren't for everyone Sal; especially Visitor Q. heh heh

won an oscar for best foreign movie in 2008, if that is any indication of quality. guys, there is more to Japanese culture than Miike...even though audition is pretty good.
