From what I had gathered Taka had been left out because of: A) His general unpopularity. B) Hit detection for his high-poly, large model.

They may have planned to put Taka in but during testing they found that the hit detection wasn't working well resulting in attacks hitting him easily from a distance. Although AM2 take a very long time to get their products right they have to have certain cut-off times and at the time they might have decided that Taka was not worth the effort. Also because of his super heavy weight status it means they have to tweek all the floats etc. just for him specifically, so I can see it being alot of work.

Also how would he do a flop animation? He ain't getting his legs over his gut anytime soon. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'd have to agree on the point made that Taka was axed, not because of a processing power issue.

I'm a strong believer in the 'too-much-work' theory, myself. Taka had in VF3 all sorts of customized animations when being thrown. He was knocked down 'sometimes'. His on-the-bounce stuff was different than all other characters. And that was just VF3. Add in Kuzure Down principles that would need to be Taka-specific, add in the new throws for all characters, add in his seemingly difficult ability for him to techroll or quickrise (c'mon, you think this guy could realistically 'kip' ??). All of these VF4-isms just make Taka a very unsuitable character. He would require A LOT of work and time - the latter of which AM2 never seems to have enough of.

    cheers.

It would of been a riot to see Taka do a kip-up though /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I read somewhere that Taka was left out cuz there was too much similarity with Jeffrey and Wolf. Also did any one ever try to do kage's [4] [P] + [G], [8][P] + [G] on Taka in VF3tb for the Dreamcast, that was the most unrealistic thing in VF history.
