I wasn't gonna say anything, but seeing you being such a hypocrite compels me to make the following comments.

    [ QUOTE ]
I have neither bragged about having a pirate copy or admitted to having a pirate copy of evo. People have "assumed" I have one.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
*IF* it is made public that this is exactly what is happening then I will delight in buying multiple copies of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your most recent post is not the first post to include details that blatantly shows that you had obtained a pirated copy. In fact, you were the one to post about it being released in another thread.

    [ QUOTE ]
I am still *NOT* ripping off Sega, because nobody in the US is suppose to have the game anyways outside of the arcade. So that point is moot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is another comment that is a result of not having much exposure to the outside world. There is NO law forbidding people outside of Japan to buy, sell, rent, or possess copies of videogames made in Japan or published by Japanese companies. People have every right to purchase these goods without consequences. Japan have even changed their law to allow the sale of second hand videogame goods. (It used to be illegal to do so in Japan.)

I don't have anything against you Replicant, I only bothered to comment on your views because of how ignorant and misinformed they are. Please just stop for a second and think about what other people have said, and think twice before you post anything more to prevent further embarassment.

Embarassment? pfft, nothing I have said is embarassing in the least.

Once again you "assume". Whether I, you, or anyone else here has an original game or copy of that game is their business and nobody else's. Quit while you think you're ahead.

Ok, there is no law that says all that you typed above. Although, there are copyright laws and a distribution TOS that defines what is and what isn't allowed. If a game says that it is "NOT TO BE SOLD OUTSIDE OF JAPAN", then it's not hard to see that anyone who does is in violation of distribution agreements.

You obviously have something against me, because you are increasingly getting more and more arrogant with each of your posts. The namecalling, assumptions, and incessant need to win this argument shows that you think you have something at stake here.

This is just so people are not confused by Replicant's additional misinformation.

I have checked with US customs to understand the laws concerning importing foreign games, and the rule is that there are no such laws or regulations preventing Japanese games to be distributed outside of Japan. You can even open up a store and sell Japanese games exclusively if you want.

To Replicant, I hope all your sad attempts at defending your invalid views, knowledge are just a result of temporary hotheadedness. If you really do believe in all that you've stated, then there is nothing that can be done.

So, so wrong. This label is pretty much only a cosmetic thing nowadays, and most people will admit as such. The age where companies were afraid imports might hurt their bottom line is long over. Now, companies actually tacitly support and encourage imports. High-demand imports with little or no chance of a Western release can add many additional sales to certain titles. Capcom encouraged people to import their 4 Meg RAM cart games in the end of the Saturn era, and I'm sure Treasure looked at the popularity of their import-only games (ie Radiant Silvergun) in the West to judge wether or not to port Ikaruga to the DC. Thus, Ikaruga became the best-selling import ever, and outside-of-Japan sales probably added up to well over 10,000 units. When you consider that breaking 50,000 units for a small-billing game in Japan is a huge success, the added benefit of an import market cannot be denied.

I'll try and find a more suitable board for discussing this game. Go back to you DOA or Tekken. Whatever it is you guys play. Peace. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Oh my.. was this reply for me? You clicked 'reply' on my post so it looks like it was.

I find it hilarious that that you mockingly suggest that you'll look for a more suitable board for discussing the game, when your post had zero worthwhile discussion content. What 'discussion' were you hoping to generate?

Well, I don't know what motivated you to post that you have the game in the first place (vanity? ego?), especially considering the fact that the retail version wasn't available yet. Maybe you thought you'd look cool? The man with the hookups? Whatever it is, I'm really not interested and like I said before, I really don't want others to do the same.

We saw the same thing when VF4 was released for PS2, and it was ugly. I don't want it to happen again, which is why I've left this thread as a warning to others.

So, replicant, have you found "a more suitable board for discussing this game" yet? I sure hope they love the game as much as you because nothng sucks more than coming to VFDC only to be met with hoards of DOA and Tekken fans.

And please stop the third person references to yourself in the Subjects of your threads. Myke finds it very annoying!
