I'm pretty sure it's VF and by "VF" I mean VIOLENCE FIGHT.

Oh hell no, not Lick Joe! The man who had his profession revoked after he killed some other wrestlers?

Still, I'd rather see Violence Fight than Rise of the Robots.

Yup. 13. While playing, no less.

Don't forget about Ben Smith and his strong jumping force.

Well, RotR did get a sequel way back then, so anything's possible.

Just saw confirmation that it isn't KOF, so my first guess is out.

Guilty Gear, they just got the rights back, I don't think Arc will be ready to announce this year. I could be wrong though, I often am.

Soul Calibur's already been announced, so I don't think it's that.

VF would be nice, but I don't expect it.

I've heard under good authority that it isn't VF.

Is it that the "return of a huge fighting game franchise " comment that sparked this thread isn't talking about VF, or are you saying there is definitely no VF announcement at E3 this year?

There was so little hope anyways. I'm not even let down at all, no surprise here.

Ahh... I see a small opportunity here for some 'OR' logic, or possibly some contrapositive reasoning. I definitely see room here for a little bayesian probability, or at the very least some dempster/shafer belief intervals, you know, a little epistemic plausibility.

There's been talk of KOF,DOA,SC,Bloody Roar, VF, RR,super smash bros, killer instinct. So with this small example we
have 12 possible worlds, given that the annoncement will actually be one of these games. So if we tried the very misleading simple probablility approach, then we would have
p(VF) = 1/12 or a .083 shot at being announced at this year's E3. But that would be incorrect, because we do have information that some of the aforementioned games do not stand a chance at being announced.

so what we might use is something we call conditional probability, denoted p(A | B), which states what's the probability of A given the probability of B. Now in this case
let the p(B) = p(KOF)+ p(BloodyRoar) + p(killer Instinct) + p(SC) + p(DOA5) ..... then we clearly see, that p(B) = .5
"please pay attention" therefore
we have

p(VF | B) = p(A * B)/(p(B) where * stands for union
substituting values we have

p( A *.5)/.5

Which obviously makes it clear that its a coin toss to whether VF will be announced at this year's E3. Its a 50/50 chance. Of course that's taking the simple conditional probability read, but if we were to take a more sophisticated Dempster/Shafer type analysis I would dare say the results should be more interesting. If for no other reason than Dempster/Shafer accounts for our ignorance as opposed to simply assigning the negative to what we do not know. But I leave the Dempster/Shafer analysis as an exercise for the reader [IMG]

But if we were to do Dempster/Shafer, we would discover that the odds that VF is the huge fighting game that returns is a lot closer to Zero than any of us would want to admit [IMG]

Good money's on Primal Rage indeed.

Failing that, Agressors of the Dark Combat is well overdue for a reboot. Fingers crossed!

(also: 98% that it's just Soul Calibur - - )

If not KOF and not VF, I wonder what it could be.

I'm suspecting Darkstalkers now, and for Capcom to muck it up in the end.

I'd almost rather see a new Toshinden at this stage.

I really don't think its gonna be a Vampire Savior game... I'm pretty sure Ono would be teasing the fans by now... He can't keep his mouth shut about much, which in some ways is good...

I never really see GG as a huge fighting game franchise... I mean its big in Japan, but elsewhere, if it isn't SF, its not heavily played... At this point though, AH3 might still be bigger than the next GG release...
