Even though I haven't touched SSB: Brawl in a long time (I actually put a ton more effort and time into SSB: Melee), I kind of hope they announce one for 3DS, it would be perfect to release it on 3DS, what with the graphics, and potential uses for 3D.

Has anyone actually played this game since the arcade? it's pretty interesting how solid the system is.

you can feint every attack. feinting with round house J2-up actually moves you forward faster than J1-Forward.

blocking is fluid. you don't have to commit to a block until it is actually "active" and you can cancel the animation right up until that point. if you perform your block at the right time it stops the attack and you can counter fast. hold too long or block too early and your counter comes out much, much slower which leaves you open to your opponents own counter.

I would LOVE to see this system remade. simple, mostly intuitive, pretty excellent all around.

And let's not forget the most important thing GE... THE GAME IS 100% BALANCED! Winning totally falls on the person behind the controls. The only thing the game needs, but kind of doesn't is throws. But if throws will ruin the balance then just leave it out.

Really I would buy this game in a heart beat if it was repackaged with HD graphics and net play.

I think it could be Dead or Alive 5. Dimensions on 3DS could be just a test to see how consumers respond to it.

    I've been thinking about this.

PLAY is a PS-specific news magazine, I'm sure that it would not aknowledge the return of a franchise like KI, SmashBros due to their licensing with Microsoft and Nintendo. And DoA being everything but Sony.

This leaves 3rd party fighters in the go,
    VF5:FS. Trademarked but not confirmed.
KOFXIII.(Announced earlier in the year that SNK-Playmore is committed to a console release)
SCV: Recently announced and confirmed, with recent titles on Xbox and PS3 and more recent on PSP, hardly a return.

    Darkstalkers are a longshot.

Process of elimination: VF5:FS is definitely the most likely.

Well mainly I meant the quote from Play about the return of a franchise, but I think the same applies to any announcement at E3 I'm afraid Marly. Play's twitter feed also went on to say: "...it's something that's recently been announced." which shows that it isn't VF as nothing's been announced. I wish it was VF but it just isn't in production [IMG]

You know. They might be talking about Soul Calibur 5, Tekken Tag 2, and New Guilty Gear game or SSF4 Arcade Edition.

This twitter comment, is too vague to make any assumptions that Virtua Fighter is indeed what they mean.

However, I would not be surprised if it was VF5, since it's now or never for SEGA. That's just my oppinion....if they miss the boat now they don't stand a chance later.

My thoughts exactly. Add the fact that Tekken Tag is lined up to murder VF in the arcades later this year and i'd imagine sega would be working towards a console release. Dunno if it's just blind hope, but i expect to see something this summer.

FWIW, Sega released their list of E3 games, and surprise, VF ain't on it. I guess it's possible they want to hold on to the news until the show itself, right? Right.
